Quiest poultry to have? Muscovy ducks. They are Soooo quiet. Love em.

Love my mixed flock of Marans, Australops, ISA Brown, and Golden Laced Wyandottes. The rooster is a Golden Cuckoo Maran. I called the Wyandottes my whiny dots.
Yesterday I videoed the hen announcing she layed an egg, and the rooster joined in singing with her. I sent to my daughters and told them the chickens are announcing their next breakfast... lol
They are so adorable.

My only Australorp makes a huge racket at approximately the same time every morning. She is LOUD. Does her throat get sore? No. Her rants can go on for the better part of an hour at times. Gabbie always was noisy, even as I raised her from a chick. She jumps up on a roosting bar and looks down on a nesting hen and hollers. An additional box hasn't satisfied her. What a tyrant! Yet she is very beautiful to look at and is a solid egg producer. 🇨🇦

My rooster is a Buckeye, and yes, Roy Boy is a bit noisy but he’s still my boy. Sounding the alarm when predators are near. It’s just their instincts I tell my Wife, and thank God for them. My Wife hates him. I believe he can smell her fear when she’s in the coop, haha.

Great tips! I have 2 Golden Comet chicks. They weren’t mentioned on your list. Can you share your thoughts on this breed?
I aimed to purchase Buffs but selected Comets because they are a sex linked breed.
Comets are very good egg layers, benefit from hybrid vigor, and as you mentioned...their sex linked. So they're great for small flocks and beginners.
Have links...never had a flock that talk so loud when im around....

The Welsummer's are probably the noisiest of the flock. But a small group shouldn't be too noisy

I can't even understand broken English imagine me learning chicken. Some noises I make they all look at me like what the heck did you just say! My neighbor has like 3 roosters and 30 chickens, it helps hide my 5 ladies. I have his chickens in my yard time to time.
