loved this thanks for posting i lived in glover street that ran along the side of the station > many happy memories looking at this. My uncle ( eddy stewart) drove the a4 Bittern and my grandad (willy stuart ) was also a driver at this station i sadly never met him...thanks again
Thank you Brian glad you enjoyed upload of Perth Depot and Memories of your family Its my pleasure to upload videos that make people like youself Happy especially in difficult times Seasons Greetings take care Alrx 👮👮👍👍
A great clip from a great video (Scottish Steam, The A4s' Final Years by Cinerail - an hour of these great beasts, mostly on the Glasgow Buchanan Street to Aberdeen runs, filmed by the late Eddie Stanbridge between 1962-1966).
Thanks Luath 55 I have hundreds of old videos and just pick some to upload for enthusiasts to view big thanks to Eddie for filming this particular one Take care Alrx. 👲👲👍👍
Another good video Alrx. I was interested to see 60009 on the turntable. The Perth turntable was earmarked for Bo'ness, unfortunately the scrappies cut it up, supposedly by mistake! It was interesting to hear about the NBL type 2 Diesels that took over for a wee while. The NBL type 2 was the worst of the early diesels, they were rebuilt with different power units, but many were scrapped before the end of steam. They caused the bankruptcy of NBL. They were world leaders in steam locomotive building, but their diesels were hopeless. There is a surviving power unit at Bo'ness it was a poor copy of a MAN unit.
Hi Alistair thats sad about turntable not so sad about failed diesels poor quality This pandemic will obviously cause financial problems for preservation societies but hopefully Once this is over open days visitors etc they shall get back to normal Thats why I uploaded last video to nudge people's mind about our past history Thanks to volunteers like youself happy times will return thank you Alistair from Alrx. 👍👍👍👮👮👮
