Not going to spoil anything for everyone, but I watched the Twitch stream and since I left Discord I don't have many other ways to talk to you. So, to be incredibly vague, you did a fantastic job with this part. I thought I couldn't love this AU any more than I already did, but leave it to Sans to change my mind. Heh.

I love how Sans’ attacks are either all blue, or out of range. Not to mention his pupils shrinking if you actually do take damage. Feels a lot more like an intervention than a fight, and I love that.
His expression was more of a
"Hey wait why is my kr working they are level 1" rather than suprised they got hit.
But they're trying to knock frisk out of their trance of anger so it makes sense

I am very amazed by how you did that Sans “fight”. He wasn’t actually fighting but just keeping you there. All of his attacks were just blocks to keep you in front of him.

the guilt and trauma from amalgamating undyne and mettaton makes the kr work in this fight.

Inverted Fate has legitimately managed to make me start feeling emotions about as strongly as I did with the original Undertale, and has also been able to be just as memorable, even when it took an incredibly extended hiatus

Yep, that's basically the idea! It wasn't meant to be a serious fight in terms of difficulty. Just emotions.
There's also the fact that if Frisk does try to get hurt Sans just pulls them away from it

And not to much focus about Sans
Now that the premiere happened, let me show how much I love this fight. Three opposing sides, Papyrus wanting to convince Frisk, Sans stopping them, and poor, traumatized Frisk trying to move forward. The attack aren't to hurt Frisk, it's just showing Sans keeping them form moving forward. And then for once, Papyrus's turn isn't to help Frisk side-by-side, but to oppose Frisk, and try to help them emotionally. It's a climax of emotions, as Frisk breaks down, and only the skelebros can break through.
I love how the KR damage Frisk takes surprises Sans. After all, they're only lvl 1, but they still feel guilty, so that their sins still crawl on their back. It shows just how broken Frisk feels after having to see Undyne and Mettaton's fate, so much so that they weren't determined enough to reset over Undyne. But finally, they're ready to go again.

I didnt notice Sans' reaction to Frisk's KR damage until I read this comment. It surprised me too, ngl.
sans is stopping frisk from getting to his attacks after a while like with toriel in the original and it's heartbreaking to see this

I agree. Almost every AU is a just an effortless reskin of Undertale. All they do is give them the personality of the role they are in (blame it all to Underswap), and just modifying their likes to make it seem like they are different. But Inverted Fate, this just changes it. This is what an AU is really supposed to be.

And like the other comment said, Papyrus is the most positive character in fiction. Besides, he actually cried in the video. He just decided to quickly take action in order to try to fix everything.
@@blank_home1229 But he isn't just one of the "many people", he's The Great Papyrus, and not only he's been through similar things before, he also knows that someone else is more traumatized by this accident and needs his support, before things could get much worse.
He did though, in the previous video, but considering that too, it is in Papyrus' nature to be positive to make others feel better and more hopeful as can also be seen in the King Papyrus ending in UNDERTALE.
He also knows that Frisk could reload and that he's seen melting before.

Finally Frisk was able to wake up to what they're doing. Judging by the ending, I think that Undyne may try to interrupt Mettaton while he attempts to stall for longer.

I wasn’t expecting much but HOLY SHIT this just made my opinion on this Au even better!! I love the little detail of how all of san’s attacks are meant to keep you from moving (the Blue Blasters, Blue Bones, use of Telekinesis to throw you back to where you started and to keep you from moving. Hell, even when the regular bones were coming in, they either acted like boomerangs and disappeared or they sunk into the ground before.) Not only that, but at 9:30, san’s face turns into a shocked expression when Frisk was getting effected by KR. It seems he didn’t expect Guilt to be a causer of KR.
Also, that ending... seems like both Mettaton and Undyne remembered it, even though Mettaton shrugged it off as a dream. While I do know Undyne DOES have Determination, and that why she remembers it, it’s quite suprisingly when Mettaton seemingly remembers it. I may have a theory onto why Mettaton remembers the events. When they were fused, their souls were infused as well. This caused Undynes Determination to to fuse with Mettatons. After Frisk resets, some of Undyne’s Determination lingers in Mettaton’s soul, meaning that he may also have some Determination as well.
I think he just was scared that frisk got hurt
This was an emotional, uplifting and intense part of IF that I enjoyed, thank you for sharing this stream with us. I was wondering if "Renewed Hope" will be uploaded to Soundcloud, it's a beautiful song. Also enjoyed the teaser with Undyne and Mettaton with the pitch-shifted "Impending Dread".

11:56 I love this part. The sombre music over Papyrus trying to comfort Frisk by mentioning his own trauma about the bad side of determination, followed by Sans' concern and his guilt for not knowing, with bland, samey attack after it, is just brilliant timing and writing.

Judgement hall in undertale and other games was something like pre-culmination where you reconsider your actions and think what is going to be next.
Papyrus and Undyne/Mettaton scene was so sad, i feel bad for them, and also for Frisk.

This is so good, throughout the whole Adventure Frisk grew and changed but after what happened and they just go immediately back to running just like they did before they fell down.
Inverted Fate has blown me away once again. I will never cease to be impressed by the sheer effort put into this AU. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Actually, that’s smart thinking. The end of the Neutral Run was just a RESET in Undertale, so- there’s really no need for there to be some kind of giant void with some sort of Omega Flowey incarnate existing for there to be an end to IF’s Neutral Run. Props, guys!

philiplol really carried this part. Originally it was just going to be a comic like the rest of Inverted Fate, but then he just whipped this whole animation up in less than two weeks.
This was fantastic! While I had a feeling there would be a Sans fight I didn’t expect it to be like this. Once again inverted fate meets and surpasses my expectations!

@@niserresin2006 Not a direct quote, and certainly not from the game files itself. It's more of an inference from lines like "You think you are above consequences." and the general attitude and behaviour they display on the tapes and endings. This line came from posts discussing the early Narrator Chara theory. I have failed to locate them, but you can see a similar line in the Judgement Boy videos on the matter. Sorry for the confusion!

We all know that Sans’s “Attacks” were just counters basically, and as cool as that is everyone is talking about it. So here’s something a little different.
This “Fight” is a first, second, and third person scene. Frisk is the first person, second is Papyrus, and third is you, the player (also its not in Frisks eyes directly the whole time) and they pulled it off well, especially the second person part. It’s really impressive
this is by far my favorite IF animation
I'm so excited for the next part I'll have to start watching/reading the chapters to catch up
I remember not this years summer but the one before that was when I found out about the comic and from there, I've been excited in general for this, as well as pretty much into it as about as much as I am to the original game.
This series is one of the coolest I've ever seen and all I can say is it's epic and so much more.

This is mothershucking amazing. Especially the visual storytelling with the attacks, how all of them are easily dodgable by standing still but Frisk charges forward anyways. You can really feel their grief. ♾/10, love this AU.

Question (kinda spoiler): so Frisk didn't manage to load at first because he wasn't able to concentrate after seeing Undyne and Mettaton melt? Or because of the determination that was in MTT and Undyne even after they melted? Or some other reason?

And with that out of the way, wow (again). There were many things that I didn't expect here. First, I expect there to be more time spent on Toriel's home, kinda like in Undertale, but instead of monsters from the entire game, just Papyrus and Flowey (maybe sans). And another thing I didn't expect at all was a Sans fight. Considering Frisk doesn't really kill anyone, they probably wouldn't kill Toriel or do anything like that, so there wouldn't really be a reason for a traditional Sans fight (the only thing really hinting at this for me was that the track with the cute kittens had leitmotifs from songs related to Sans).
I really like how you handled the fight with Sans, too. I don't even know how to describe everything at the moment of watching this video. All I can say is that it's probably one of the best fan-made Sans fights ever, if not the best, and that it's really cool how Papyrus's turn shows Frisk instead of Sans.
Another really cool thing was the Undyne and Mettaton amalgamate. I can't really explain why, but it really caught my interest. The very concept of transforming some of the main characters into amalgamates is vwry interesting, and can lead to interesting situations. I kinda wish we had seen more of that, but I don't think there's really a good way to do that, it's for the best that they're back to normal.

I tried slowing down the video to 0,25 and the results were unsatisfying, yet satisfying at the same time. Even if you slow it down, there are many parts that you can't read before they're overlaid with more text, and most of the parts I could read weren't fully cohesive, as if Undyne's and Mettaton's lines are mixing with each other.
