RIP Jeff hope your greeted with 1 or 2 or somewhere in between 30 hits in heaven. You brought me much joy and turned many sour moods around with just the music. Thank you
Remember this show well. Band asked about turning down lights. Dave’s banjo mic stand was taped on top of 2 milk crates. Also guy dressed in panda suit was in crowd!
They already had a couple years on the festival circuit at this point. April 2000 was the first time I saw them, with a crowd of about 8 people. Saw 70+ shows while Jeff was still in the band, only seen 2 since he left.
@@toddish10 u probably won't see this, I was a casual yonder fan. But it seems when JA left that was it for the ymsb magic. And aside from the first incarnation of JAB, which was short lived, Jeff wasn't able to either. Perfect example of lightning in a bottle smh. Just curious if you agree with this pov, considering you said you only seen them twice after Jeff left. He was the energy.
@@bluecollar825 they are still a fun band, but yeah the intensity of their live shows dropped by 50% after Jeff left. Any of the solo stuff Jeff did with Kyle Tuttle, or Danny Barnes is real fire though. For me YMSB peaked around 2004, I prefer those early years when they were out there still trying to prove themselves and slaying shows!
@@toddish10 wow, I would kill for that experience my man. I came to know of Yonder in December of 2015. Saw them at the Orange Peel in Asheville in early 2016. A lady friend of mine had tickets so I went. She was my intro to jamgrass. It was cool, but not what I heard on the Mountain Tracks albums afterwards. Jeff Austin is a treasure.
RIP Jeff Austin, beyond devastated with the news of your passing. This is the song/video that got me hooked many, many, revolutions around the sun ago.
My first Yonder show was at String Cheese New Year's in Portland, brining in 2001. After this summer, I will have seen them over 40 times. Including 8 String Summits. Love Yonder!
Love it ..best band ever.im 36 been listening sense I was 16 . Paradise strong ..Feather river ...butte creek ....Ca.. love your home @butte co.hope .....
Lyrics to Snow On The Pines Well the wind from the mountain To the valley, to the town below Burns baby with an anger that with every second grows Bringing to the people desperation, sense of fear Howlin' like a lion 'til the roar be all you hear And all that is left is snow on the pines And all that is left is snow on the pines Darkness it is coming You can feel it in the breeze Bringin' the whole damn town down Bringin' the town down to its knees No man that walks this earth is a match baby for its fear Rising, rising, rising 'til its roar be all you hear And all that is left is snow... And all that is left is... In your tracks it will freeze you It will drop your ass to the ground Hell upon this earth Has not so easily been found Praying for salvation to a sky so big and gray Like a mountain by the end of the day And all that is left is snow on the pines And all that is left is... It’s hard to believe that was 20 years ago..my best bud introduced me to Yonder not too long after that and was fortunate to have seen them live a dozen times of course when Jeff Austin was in the band…Then I actually got to bump in to Jeff at Delfest and talk…what a guy! He bought my daughter a lemonade at the side stage. RIP- Jeff! Wish I could see and talk to you again❤️
Fuckin RIP Jeff Austin..I'll forever be thankful for you.inspiring me to pick up a mandolin while also teaching me how to really appreciate bluegrass. Greensky and the infamous dusters are both awesome but you, Jeff, were an originator with an overflowing soul unfit for this world. Fuckin see you on the dark side of the moon brother.
really enjoy what the new line up is bringing, but going to miss this one soooo much. good luck dave, adam, ben and jeff . . . . going to miss seeing you all together but i think it was for the best. time to grow!
All of these amazing alt. bands are coming from Ohio. Papadosio, The Werks, Skeetones and many more, there is something magical happening here. Doesn't surprise me though Ohio has decriminalized weed so musician's can get inspiration from many sources.

Still my favorite video, may you shred in heaven Jeff
RIP Jeff Austin. I had serious fun watching you play and sing your heart out over many years.

That was a mighty fine party. Let it live on.
Jeff was an absolute force of nature. RIP, man. And all the love to all the Kinfolk. Hug your people.
This was preformed in Cincinnati, 2001 in a friends garage. They were just getting started! Holy moly I can't believe I found this!! YONDER

Lyrics to Snow On The Pines
Well the wind from the mountain
To the valley, to the town below
Burns baby with an anger that with every second grows
Bringing to the people desperation, sense of fear
Howlin' like a lion 'til the roar be all you hear
And all that is left is snow on the pines
And all that is left is snow on the pines
Darkness it is coming
You can feel it in the breeze
Bringin' the whole damn town down
Bringin' the town down to its knees
No man that walks this earth is a match baby for its fear
Rising, rising, rising 'til its roar be all you hear
And all that is left is snow...
And all that is left is...

It will drop your ass to the ground

Has not so easily been found
Praying for salvation to a sky so big and gray
Like a mountain by the end of the day
And all that is left is snow on the pines
And all that is left is...

Gawd DAMN, I love this band! Take a couple aspirin if you want to see them live, 'cause you might have a heart-attack.
