I traveled from Florida to catch this show. Id seen Yonder many times close to home, but this was my first show at Red Rocks and it didn't disappoint. The crowd was fantastic and I was blown away by the energy of the performance and the acoustics of the venue. Had to stop by today to see the encore on more time. Rest in Peace Jeff. Thank you for all of the memories.
I just can’t even deal with the news today. Not Jeff. 😢 There is nothing like dancing with your friends while Jeff Austin gets down on the mandolin. Thank you for the memories. You will forever be missed. 💔
just a reminder someone loves you and needs you whether it seems tangible or not..comments on the JA ymsb videos always help remind me we're in this together and no one is immune to our demons. Rest easy Jeff and keep his memory alive with every single damn scream, stomp and yell along video that lives
At one of their performances Jeff credits learning Raleigh and Spencer from me at the Millsite jam before YMSB formed. I miss y’all and the Millsite nights
jeffs voice at 0:38 gives me the chills. such a great front man. im glad to be from the same town as him. can't wait for the day he visits his parents and i see him walking the streets.
Outside before one of their shows i had a guy come up to me and offered me $200 for my ticket, ticket was $35 originally but I still couldn't do it. Yonder is not a band you pass up on.
Holy crap. Saw these guys multiple times at random festivals during the day and didnt really know what to think. Then I saw them at Harves Fest last year late night with some Salmon and it changed everything.
I have to agree in the earlier days he did seem to lag a bit. However, I finally got the chance to see them live a few weeks ago and I have to say, there's nothing lagging now! Bluegrass on steroids........gotta love it!
@yesphilly89 They did not invent the term or genre Jamgrass. That term was invented by David Grisman, who staged a touring festival of sorts by the same name. This featured DGQ, the Sam Bush Band, Yonder and DSO. And before Yonder, before SCI, there was Leftover Salmon, who invented the term polyethnic cajun slamgrass. But Yonder is awesome! Their energy, speed, and virtuosity tend to make up for the missed and wrong notes - of which there are plenty every night.
@yesphilly89 -Lemme get this right, you're suggesting that he's holding back, so he doesn't have to do interviews? Anyway, I'm not on the warpath, I just don't get it. I've met the band several times, I even used to pick a little with Adam about a year or two before he settled in CO; they all seem like great guys, and I wish them well. I even go to their shows sometimes. But, the near-idolatry I see around this band just doesn't make any sense. Same with Justin Beiber. Different strokes.
Worst banjo break I think I've ever heard, even by Dave Johnston's standards. Kudos to Jeff for trying to cover some, but still... Hilarious. There are some 10-year-old videos on here where he can actually play. WTF happened to this guy?? The popularity of this band mystifies me.

This is true yonder, too bad the rest of the band bailed on Jeff
Ham-fisted Banjoist aside, I love these guys!
banjos are hard to play.....sometimes.
@yesphilly89 -Lemme get this right, you're suggesting that he's holding back, so he doesn't have to do interviews?

Shit was flithy live
I would trade my shoes for a gallon of booze!
really? hacking personified
So glad Jeffs ego is gone from Yonder. His theatrical talent out weighs his playing skills by ten fold.

Fuckin legend
