Balalaika is a nickname for the Dragunov sniper rifle. The character in this series was a former sniper in the Soviet Army during the invasion of Afghanistan, so it fits her perfectly.
I've only heard of the musical instrument balalaika, I didn't know it was also a nickname for a sniper rifle.

Rock is a badass in a totally different way than Revy is. He's the guy you want at the table when you are negotiating anything. Be it ransom, a contract, demanding terms of surrender; the guy is basically the company's consiglierre at the end of the day and he's so good at it that he is respected by all the major players in Roanapurr.
Though he's calmed his Walter White persona down a bit after a near death experience in the manga.

The portion when they were on the boat, they were dealing with Nazis. The painting was from the WW2 Era, and worth a lot of money as it was painted by a famous Nazi Artist. At the end, she gave the dude 3 options, off himself, or off one of them. Of course, as a nazi, he wanted to kill the black man, and they both knew that would be the case, but they were hoping that he’d off himself or surrender. So the big reason that mook try to off Revy's team was as you said Dutch refused to betray Balalaika and cus their team is the goat that mook thought "If I can't have them doing my dirty work of taking down the boss for me then I'll make sure the boss doesn't have a force to being with!" The thing is Balalaika has her own swat team form from her old unit during her time as a merc so they are 100% loyal and that could easily take down Revy and the rest of the team ANYTIME.
So Dutch refusing off the bat is him making sure he doesn't piss off Balalaika and get smoked cus She got eyes and ears EVERYWHERE

pretty sure Balalaika was never a merc, her elite team of soldiers are her comrades from her unit back when she served in the Soviet-Afghan war in the 80s, so her men are hardened veterans it's why she basically runs the city bc none of the gangs can even match her.

Context:
The boat and the crew are called the "Lagoon Company" and they are mercenaries/pirates/delivery guys. They work at Roanapur
Roanapur is a city of crime, imagine every city of GTA, combine it into 1 and you get Roanapur.
The whole boat scene where she goes "I smell it" is an actual scene and she does say she smells it - the smell of gunpowder and blood.
The guy who got blown up because of being denied was because he paid off their job informant so he can kill them, because they are often hired by a rival boss, Balalaika - The leader of Hotel Moscow, a branch of the Russian Mob stationed in Roanapur.
Balalaika hires Lagoon Company often, and are a power house in Roanapur because of what it is made of, Balalaika and every one of them are veteran soldiers of the USSR, paratroopers, spetsnaz, and veterans of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
The guys on the boat are Neo-Nazis, who are after the painting which they believe was made by Hitler since he was a painter.
The Church is known as the Rip-off Church, and is also a smuggling zone for drugs and guns, which explains the M60 wielding Priest in training and the .50 AE carrying Mother Superior
Shenhua is the Taiwanese assassin, but Revy calls her "Chinglish" - which is why he doesn't name her explicitly.
The driver who drove through the base was higher than a skyscraper when he did that.
Girl with Chainsaw is Sawyer - Her job is disposal, people come to her to get rid off a body so for the most part people don't question her even though that was the first time people was her without her wearing a hazmat suit so they were surprised but not confused or even questioning.
Final part with the Samurai involves the the last arc of season 2 so no heavy spoilers other than the dude with the purple suit and blonde hair - He's a douche. He's the arrogant, "I've killed 5 people so I'm 'dangerous'" person, who did his bosses dirty.

Shes not reloading that much because shes using the m9, which is a double stack pistol that holds 15+1 rounds and she is wielding two meaning she has 32 bullets total and she is very accurate that's why they call her two hands, and there is more or less somewhere under 30 enemies raiding that bar so its actually very accurate, this show does not skimp on the details

The Black lagoon look like amazing anime. Revy is an absolute queen, the definition of the queen of black Air Force. Revy is a menace and the fact that she has a cold face and seen to not care at all. She’s queen of black Air Force. Also Roberta is something else. Like Roberta is a terminator and is even colder than revy. Trust me, this show is absolute awesome and interesting to watch
