6 Years ago I made a game called "Giraffe Run" on Scratch. I recently decided to remake this game in 3D, in the Godot game engine in just 1 week. Here's a summary of that fun adventure and the things I learned along the way.
    GIraffe Run
    Made with:
    Blender,
    Asperite,
    Godot,
    Photopea,
    PureRef,
    Freesound,
    OpenGameArt,
    Audacity
    Music:
    "Gone Fishin'" by Memoraphile
"DS Yoshi Falls" by Shinobu Tanaka
"Cheep Cheep Beach" by Shinobu Tanaka
"Bowser Jr.'s Castle" by Asuka Ohta, Hajime Wakai, Koji Kondo
"World 6 - The Canyon" by Asuka Ohta, Hajime Wakai, Koji Kondo
"Athletic (Super Mario 3D World)" by Koji Kondo
"Sprawling Savannah" by Mahito Yokota, Toru Minegishi, Yasuaki Iwata

I can heavily relate to having to listen to sounds on freesound. That website has a hidden price of having to listen to tens of low quality sounds, sounds that make you uncomfortable and sounds with this weird high pitched squeaking noise

Shoutout to the person who liked giraffes and onion rings, this was a wonderful origin story for this game

  • @Nesisorator

I played it and it crashed when I ate a onion ring at one health but I had fun as long as it lasted.

This game gives me the vibes of an something obscure, yet fun that you’d find on something like the Wii Shop Channel for some reason. I love the art style.

  • @instentproductions3180

  • @shindig9000

So excited for a new video!

  • @LakkzScratch

We need a game engine that uses blocks like scratch but has more powerful features and can support 3D

Really appreciated the attitude towards learning and experimentation; it's very motivating to see as a newbie and I made sure to subscribe so I can see more content like that in the future. Thanks man!

  • @kardrasa

  • @RKIOrbMage

I've been following you for a really long time but I haven't gotten around to commenting on any of your videos. Just wanted to say you're one of my favorite gamedevs on youtube, you content is top-notch.

  • @theothetorch8016

I think these are the types of projects that are more fun to make than actually play x)

  • @TaxeAndStuff

The mario music is well appreciated, and i like this style of editing on these game dev type videos! keep up the good work!

  • @dragongamerz5304

I'm glad you had a good time making the game. A healthy dose of learning and fun without frustration.

  • @aywerGameDev

I love how so many devs that started in scratch are remaking their games in actuall game engines. Small thing but makes me happy ah :)

  • @eboatwright_

This is great! I also started game dev with Scratch, amazing tool for learning to program :D

  • @misosoup79

This video is gold. Super entertaining, but also useful. The giraffe is adorable and his neck is hilarious! I'm going to have to take a closer look at tweens in Godot...
