God this was so much fun to make. I didn't think I was actually gonna finish it! But here we are :D There were some really fun shots in there that I think everyone will enjoy ;) Taavitz is some good shit, my dudes. I'll definitely be doing more animatics in the future!

God I remember on a The Adventure zone zone they talked about this scene, and griffin said something like, "playing a gay character wasn't weird, pretending I was on a date with my brother was fucking weird."
Oh my god I haven't even thought of that, I'm in tears

The amount of romantic scenes Griffin had with himself and the fact that he did romantic scenes with literally every other person in TAZ is kinda ridiculous (not that I don’t still love those scenes)
I think it was Justin who said that, and then Griffin immediately went "GOD YES"
This is why I question the people who seem to genuinely think the McElroys are incestuous.

I love how Griffin introduces a bit of mystery and intrigue and Justin IMMEDIATELY guesses that it's related to his umbrastaff "eating old dead dudes" and Griffin is like "ha! Lol no that's not it. hahahahahaha don't be silly"

@@radioactiveferrets Well, more what the staff ate. The staff itself is an normal as a magic eating umbrella can be.
I honestly kind of take this as the umbrella absorbed so many powerful things that it just felt more like a powerful or cursed object more than a lich to Kravitz...like he couldn't really pick up on that there was a lich in there too when there's all this other crazy stuff going on inside it.
I love when Kravitz is like transforming into his full on reaper form and Taako is just like 'love this, love this'

I love your use of different brushes when Kravitz is in his reaper form. It makes him look very much like he does not usually belong in the prime material plane

I'm super late/new to TaZ so I haven't reached the end yet (literally I finished this very scene a few days ago), so I'm probs jumping ahead on these two when I have no idea what will even happen with them. But I couldn't resist! I love how the style you drew these two in so much that I started sketching them!
If I end up finishing this art piece, would you be okay with me posting it somewhere (probs my tumblr)? I only ask since they're being depicted specifically in your design of them(with link/your name along with it of course).
If that is okay, can I also use your design of Taako in his full adventuring gear (if you have drawn it - I just kinda assume you might've)?
And of course you don't need to feel obligated to say yes or share anything! So even if I finish the piece I won't post it anywhere without your ok!

I liked how you did skeleton Kravitz the moment I saw him (skulls just look cooler with only top teeth for some reason), but it was just amplified when I saw his precious blush.
Glad you think so! I feel like it adds a lot to the whole spiky, vertical thing he's got going on, plus he's waaay easier to draw when the bottom of the skull is just some jagged lines. As for the blushing, he is certainly one of the most precious

Just wanna say, the perspective of the scythe appearing in his hand was VERY well done! That's not an angle many people draw on purpose it's rough to get right but you pulled it off very well!

i could watch/listen to taakitz for hours on end. also, i love that thing that happens in shit like this where animators just collectively decide on how a certain character is drawn/what they look like, even if the original creators don't say anything about it or make pictures
that’s one of the things that drew me to taz in the first place, the fact that the visuals were completely headcanon and so making art about it was simultaneously like one big collective effort and whatever you personally wanted it to be

Ok I know it's 4 years later but I've been listening to TAZ for the first time (almost done with the Balance arc) and this may be one of my favourite animatics! 💜
i'm glad people are still enjoying it years and years later ♥♥ i was a kid when i made this and the fact that it's reached so many people is just wild. that kid would have been so happy to know how much it's persisted after so much time :)

taakitz is... good... listened to this ep for the first time earlier and id seen a piece of taakitz art a few days ago and was like what??? is this some kind of weird rarepair????? but i understand now.
and ive been vaguely spoiled by the fact that the next suggested video is entitled "taakitz reunion" and has a pic of them kissing but you know what i dont even mind. im just excited for them to see each other again (only on ep 52 tho so guessing its gonna be a bit)

I feel a lot better about my ability to draw hands now, even though it's only been about three months. They were weird angles for sure, though...
It felt really natural to include that look back at the end, and I think it added to the scene :> That's one of my favorite parts about making animatics: you get to add in little visual details that the boys don't include when they talk about it.
