It's not everyone's cup of tea but I think everyone should at least give it a go! It really is a great series. One of my favourites, but with it being quite long it's always a bit daunting the idea of reading it again! But it's one I will definitely be re-reading for years to come! I too have the 5 volumes, I will be keeping them until the 2nd omnibus is in my hands, just in case! I don't remember being disappointed with the ending but it's been a long time since I've read it. I ordered mine from Forbidden Planet here in the UK. I know it's not for everyone but I feel like everyone should at least give this book a try at some point. If you're unsure maybe get the first volume digitally just as a sampler. Or buy the first trade perhaps. If you like what you read and feel like you'd enjoy reading the whole series, there are a few options for the rest... Carry on with the trades/digital, hunt down the hardcovers, or go the omnibus route. I know a lot of people don't really want to pick up this omni until DC have announced volume 2, which could be a little while away. So that might influence your decision too. This is huge. Good read. Strong start. Ending was kind of week.
