Best LB episode. He is Jack Tripper to me no matter what show he's on or what character he's playing. Except for HERO AT LARGE. But John Ritter was the funniest man alive in his era with regards to acting in physical comedy and facial expressions.
He did it twice as I can remember in Three's Company. Once he pretended to be Chrissy when he thought the Feds were after him, and the other time when he dressed as a grandma to enter a baking contest.

So Shaw and John Ritter have been together in at least three episodes on two different TV series.
Ironically, there's an episode of Three's Company where Ritter gets a tattoo with the words 'The Love Butt' on his posterior - perhaps it was a nod to him doing this episode!!
I was thinking the same thing but I don't think the actors of different shows today would do the same appearances like they did back then. Back then it was about the love of acting more than the love of money.
I had watched Love Boat from start to finish, as a teen and in my twenties, but never saw this episode with John Ritter before. I must have been gone that nite. It is hilarious that the crew are so attracted to him, when he is a woman. This show is special, and the theme song is terrific.
At 20:00 mark: Captain S. says, "I try to meet all the passengers on the ship but I don't recall meeting you." Uh, well, Dale (John Ritter) is the guy who fell over board. How could he not know who he was. A minor glitch in the story line. Still enjoyed the clip. Ritter was great.
Of all the Love Boat vignette storylines, this one with John Ritter was my utmost favorite. Classic humor.

Every season had two-five really memorable episodes. This was that season's. Ritter hands down was a comedy genius.
