I use it to thicken liquids for my mother who has difficulty swallowing liquids due to choking, just like Sebastian. Worth speaking to his doctor and/or speech therapist / nutritionist / food therapist etc.

I haven’t finished watching but we used to use a powder called “thick-it” to thicken fluids for those that had swallowing difficulties. Some people just can’t tolerate liquids. There are also those moisture swabs. Zeus never looks sad! Your videos are so good for my soul…I look forward to them so much. 💕

Hi. Just some info from a CDLS Mum in Australia. I learnt from my son's PT that first comes sitting, then on all 4s rocking, crawling, pull up to stand, cruising & finally walking. This is exactly the sequence my son did it. I used to crawl around showing my son how to do it. One more tip, always have socks off, lots of sensory feedback through feet. 😊

I know to some mothers this may sound awful but when my 3 children were tiny the Pediatrician showed me how to give liquid medicine to them. And it worked! One of my sons had a terrible time swallowing and was later tube fed and hospitalized with pancreacitis. So, as soon as you give him a tiny amount of liquid give a little blow into his face. This causes a swallowing reaction. I must tell you that I absolutely love your little man! You and your husband are so precious! You are in my prayers and in my heart. Lots of love and hugs to you all. 😘❤🙏💞
I just love Sebastian so much❤ My son also has a heart defect along with other health issues and is autistic. Life is nothing how I had envisioned, but yet even more beautiful than I could have ever thought all because of my sweet boy. God bless you guys ❤

Sebastian is looking more like a toddler everyday and he's so verbal. He sure lets you know when he's not happy 😄! Has Sebastian ever had a swallow test to see how his swallowing is working? My husband had at least 3 or 4 while in acute rehab and I think 1 or 2 after he first came home. He had a massive subdural hematoma, which weakened his left side and damaged the swallowing center in the brain. He was back eating normal foods within ~8 months afterwards. Stephanie- you may want to try arrowroot or have the doc prescribe a thickener for Sebastian. I substituted the arrowroot, which is like cornstarch because he disliked the texture of the prescribed thickener. This way, Sebastian isn't getting extra sugar. Just saw Gio working with Sebastian - you can tell Sebastian feels safe and secure. I love when he plays airplane with him. That has to be a wonderful sensation for Sebastian.
You two are so awesome with Sebastian . He's gonna need his parents always. To protect him and love him just like they do each and every day. God bless your little family❤

I worked at a home with Severely developmentally delayed children. And a lot of them had G-tubes. And we would add some thing called thicket to their drink so they can at least try to drink a little bit. It made it thicker so they would aspirate on the fluid

He looks like he understands, but he cannot get his body to do what he wants. He is trapped in a body that is damaged. ❤

Sebastian is looking more like a toddler everyday and he's so verbal. He sure lets you know when he's not happy 😄! Has Sebastian ever had a swallow test to see how his swallowing is working? My husband had at least 3 or 4 while in acute rehab and I think 1 or 2 after he first came home. He had a massive subdural hematoma, which weakened his left side and damaged the swallowing center in the brain. He was back eating normal foods within ~8 months afterwards.
Stephanie- you may want to try arrowroot or have the doc prescribe a thickener for Sebastian. I substituted the arrowroot, which is like cornstarch because he disliked the texture of the prescribed thickener. This way, Sebastian isn't getting extra sugar.
Just saw Gio working with Sebastian - you can tell Sebastian feels safe and secure. I love when he plays airplane with him. That has to be a wonderful sensation for Sebastian.

I worked at a home with Severely developmentally delayed children. And a lot of them had G-tubes. And we would add some thing called thicket to their drink so they can at least try to drink a little bit. It made it thicker so they would aspirate on the fluid
He has the cutest smile he's so adorable. Getting big. I love to here him try and talk.
