Even harder than going upstream, for those who have not done this, it's a bit like navigating a tea trolley on ice. People will still talk of this in a hundred years time. You have every reason to be proud of what you have done...

This was a huge loss for Hereford..not just the restaurant but the lack of backing for navigation on the wye.
how much trade and revenue would a marina in the city generate..
I think mostly the folks of Hereford are genuinely ashamed of their council.
fantastic to see the invader flying down the forest..

Look at your Journey from a different perspective. I have no doubt it was a trip to remember that took guts and perseverance. All that aside it must have been a costly and heartbreaking defeat, to have to see your dream destroyed by a group of very selfish people. Councils, they don't change. They are made up of people of self interest wether it be fishing clubs or business. There is no justice in their decisions. It certainly will be one to tell the grandchildren.

The videos are as gripping as the original story told to me by friends in the WyeDean Canoe Club, who assisted in your trip up past the Biblins all those years ago. So my question is....When will the book be available? I'll take 10 copies!

Doomed from the beginning by the parochial attitude of the local council, Hereford is cursed by less than mediocre governance since at least the early post war period. The succession of council have lacked any vision and the inability to plan beyond the next election, along the way they’ve squandered innumerable opportunities to develop and improve the lives of those they are responsible to serve by focusing on serving themselves.
