Love the fabric!!! New to RPP. I stitched these Hexagons, using a connected thread, so they end up in a chain, having knotted the end and beginning of each hexi. A new way of keeping all 6 petals together, then I add the center hexi. I put them in a bag to keep the set together.
I loved this tutorial, you have shown that anyone can make this vintage beauty. Many many thanks for demystifying this pattern. Susan in Miami. God bless you and your beautiful family.
I’m happy you do the traditional method. I taught the seniors to make these when they are waiting at the doctors office and their rides to pick them up. Everything they need in a small ziplock bag to take anywhere. Thank you for showing this without glue.
I've made these and yo-yos while I'm waiting for people/sitting in waiting rooms, watching t.v., etc. They are wonderful for anti-anxiety and help eliminate my panic attacks.
Thank You, Sherri!!! I haven't tried the paper piecing yet, but I have often wondered exactly how this technique works. It would be so nice to have something to work on when you just want to be a bit busy and not have to think so much. Very relaxing!!! ❤
Love this method, your tutorial is very clear, I am going to try it this week while making your placemats you show using bountiful blooms, I am going to use Seashore Drive fabrics. Thanks Sherri for your great videos, I follow many of them and I have learned so much through them. Thanks Mary from Calgary, Canada 😊
I tried English paper piecing it once several years ago and did not like it. But I am in love with your quilt. I think I really want to try it again. I would love to see you attach a flower to the background! I’ve also really been enjoying your podcast with Chelsie. They’re really laid-back and easy to listen to, very informative, and it’s just like listening to two of my friends chitchatting about quilting.
I am using another method for making the hexagons and this way I eliminate using the plastic templates and paper. My hexagons are 2 and 1/4" finished so I cut a 5" circle of my fabric, bring needle in center of circle (r to w), catch approx 1/8 bite of edge os circle and bring st to center, finger press the fold at top, pierce point at end of that fold and bring needle with fabric back down to center and tack with couple sts..repeat this method until you have a PERFECT HEXAGON. Thanks for receiving my method. Janet K from NC
I agree with Ginger. I have the pattern which is very difficult to follow without diagrams and a picture of the whole quilt. That would be very helpful, Thanks for the tutorial about piecing the hexis.
Hi Sherri - I love this quilt block and quilt. I’ve watched many tutorials on paper piecing and your way is the best way that I have seen. To me, it is so much simpler than a lot of others. I want to make this using Seashore Drive fabric. Prettiest fabric I have ever seen seriously!!! I’ve never made an actual quilt but I love this block and I love the new fabric. I want to make a small quilt to start with. I would love to see how you add the block to the background fabric. Gonna start playing making some hexis with scraps I have now just to learn how to do it. I love all the fabric collections that you and Chelsi have designed. Will be ordering some of the Balboa and Happy Days to play with until Seashore Drive is available. Got to get my pattern ordered from your site. Thank you for sharing how you create these blocks.
Punch holes the papers before you piece them then you can take them out easier with a small scissor! Also when you punch hole , you can put a little pin in the fabric to hold it while you stitch the corners .
Hi, Sherri! Love this quilt. Where can I buy the background fabrics for this quilt and the backing you used? I already have the completed hexi flowers. Thanks so much.
When you take out all paper pieces do you put any type backing on flower or do you apply directly to quilt. My quilt is already quilted and I want to apply he is flowers. Great explanation demo.
I love this quilt so much that I bought the supplies to make them with my Christmas gift card, going the try the glue method first. Thanks for the tutorial.
I purchased this pattern but I did not like this pattern. The instructions were scant, very little detail, no diagrams. There was not a picture of the whole quilt for me to see which would have helped me put the quilt together. I had to use guesswork - not being mean, just honest
Your finished quilt is beautiful. I wish I could have see it more.

Love how you backed each flower with the light gray/white prints!

I’m doing this in your happy days fabric, just love you beautiful lady and your way of teaching from a girl down under 🥰
I've made these and yo-yos while I'm waiting for people/sitting in waiting rooms, watching t.v., etc. They are wonderful for anti-anxiety and help eliminate my panic attacks.
Even though this was 3 years ago, it is a great tutorial on EPP, thanks

I really like your paper piecing method. I have always wanted to do English paper piecing. I will now give it a try. Great video.
Thanks for a great video! I want to make this quilt for my husband’s grandmother as a thank you gift. I’ll be starting it today. 👍🏻
Your tips for easy basting and keeping the thread going are so helpful! Thank you!

She makes nice quilts. It is always nice to have several resources we can turn to to view quilting videos on TH-cam.
Thanks .I would like to have seen something about your attached blocks.
Thanks. I would like to see how you then sew the flower block to the fabric. Do you have a video? Maria from BC canada

I'm confused about punching a hole in the paper. Where? Thanks ..... IF you see this :)
@@baciamore in the center of the paper hexagon. Use a paper hole punch.

Wonderful tutorial thank you
Thankyou that’s the way I do it... love it
I love the layout of the blocks
You apparently enjoy hand-stitching a lot more than I do, LOL. But your tutorial has made me want to give these a try. Thanks for all the tips!
Love this Sherri! Thank you sew much!
Enjoyed your tutorial very much - looking forward to giving this a try!
Love this very pretty quilt it is inspiring, thank you
I just completed piecing my flowers tonight to make your darling quilt! What a feeling of accomplishment!
Am working on mine 🎉

Very nice thanks
Thank you Mendy and Lisa, I'm glad it's helpful!
Ok now so that the flowers are finished how do you piece them onto your quilt? Do you machine sew on to the quilt or do you piece them by hand?
I applique them by hand to the quilt. But I have also seen people machine sew the flower sections onto the background.
Thank you so much for the tutorial! English paper piecing has scared me to death for some reason. After watching you I think I can do it!
So cute. Thanks
Awesome
How do you wash the quilt with the paper in it?
What thread are you using? Thank you for this video. Love your fabric.
Could you do a close up of where you are stitching the fabric around the paper?
How do u put the quilt together
If my template is 1 1/4 inches, what size paper should I get?
What size should the hexagon be? I don’t see a template in the pattern
What weight of thread do you like to use
So you appliqued to the fabic square.
yes!
Can you show how you cut the fabric?
What background did you use for this?
Sew if you enjoy it but the glue washes out, steam from ironing releases the glue from the paper. It’s much faster.
What thread did you use to sew them together? Thank you great videos!
I just use 50 weight Aurifil

The camera angle is far away so you if new at this can't see what you are doing.not being critical just a suggestion
