Yeah I didn't see that until I was editing the video. No idea what was going on but the ticket office and cable car station was definitely closed when I stopped by - it was all locked up and plenty of people were trying to figure things out also. Kinda spooky seeing it passing by behind me in the video!
@@MattWhitingsEurope loving kosovo again and peja was amazing . I won’t lie Matt after such an amazing time in March I was a little apprehensive as to would we experience the same love and warmth the first time . I can say had on heart it’s been amazing
Wow what an ancient town! The architecture is very fairy tale like. The rope street is a cool idea. About the cable car - it's like in a Pantomime - "It's behind you" 😅 Gorgeous place, especially in the autumn!
Haha yeah I couldn't believe it when I edited the video because that's the first time I'd realised it came past! No idea what was happening, maybe a test run or perhaps it broke down and had got restarted. There were quite a few people bemused by events at the bottom and when we tried to enter the ticket office it was closed. All very strange but then that's how I got the time to do the walking tour so it all worked out in the end - as it usually tends to do.
Interesting to learn this is your favourite city in Romania, I personally preferred Bucharest but I think it's because I had a strong interest in the country's more recent history, where as Brasov's history was much older! But our differences in favourites are what keeps the world interesting! We didn't try the town's cable car, but had considered the Busteni Babele Cable Car to the south of the city, but the person in the tourist information strongly recommended against it due to bad queues and suggested we drive up to the almost top and walk the rest of the way. It feels like Romania doesn't have the best of track records with cable cars between you and me!
Ha it sounds like there's something going on with those cable cars! As time was a bit of an issue had I of done the cable car and Tampa Mountain I wouldn't have caught the walking tour and therefore probably wouldn't have seen a lot of those places I showed in the video - so I guess it worked out for the best. It's a shame I didn't have a full day as there were certainly plenty to do. Bucharest was cool but I felt really attached to Brasov, loved the fact that it is a really nice place to explore but also lots to do in the surrounding area. It would be a great place to base myself for a few days I'd say, especially if I didn't have the car.
First "Tampa Bay" Finland and now Tampa mountain; Florida is everywhere! The cable car behind you we thought was a bear sneaking up! The view from the white tower gave me flashbacks to your Kotor video. Glad Brosov is "Matt Whiting Approved"!
Haha yes Tampa is spreading way out - a little piece of America right here in Europe! Brasov is now officially approved and on 'the' list! Hope all is well with you guys!
I am predicting within ten years from now a large part of Western Europe population will relocate to the Eastern Europe - don't want to comment on the reasons ...
