I swear I might find the giant Ocarina strategy guide book in my older brother’s old closet downstairs. Lol I still be playing his N64. I even bought a little CRT tv 📺 specifically for it 😂
Back in the early to mid 90’s, I called the Nintendo Power hint line. I was stuck on Dragon Warrior 4- I had used an Infinite HP Game Genie code throughout the entire game up to that point, and even then the boss wouldn’t die. After telling the counselor what the issue was, I remember being placed on silent hold for a few minutes while he ostensibly looked it up. When he returned to the line he informed me that I was supposed to lose the fight for the plot to continue. It was my first experience with an unwinnable boss battle and, subsequently, with extreme level grinding since I had never needed to before then.
Brings me back to really good memories of drawing that exact Link from the game guide over and over (along with the other Link poses from that guide and Sheik!!) I would listen to Skillet and Chevelle all day and draw from that guide. I think you'd cosplay an amazing Zelda/Sheik!
Idk if you’re into manga or anything, but it would be cool for like a nerdy bookstore/manga video. I always find myself coming back to this video or any of the game store videos
Man, I was not expecting to see a Ribbit King advert in there; that game is awesome! Also, I'm so used to watching speedruns of Ocarina of Time, hearing that Ganon's Tower is the ultimate test of Link's abilities and his greatest trial on his adventure is pretty funny, since speedrunners skip almost all of it and go straight to the Ganon fight lol.
I had a virtual boy and LOVED the baseball and tennis game. My brothers and I fought constantly on who would get to play it, lol. I really wish I knew what happened to it.
dang I used to have that ocarina of time book back in the day ;-; that one and the prima guide one with the gold cover. i don't think i even used them for help i just liked looking at the art inside when i was in class
I miss my SNES so much! DKC 3 Super Mario All Stars. All three Mega Man X games! Killer Instinct! A Link To The Past! Yoshi's Island! Star Fox! Super Mario RPG! SUPER MARIO WORLD! DKC 2! AND HASTINGS ENTERTAINMENT! I miss being a kid sometimes😂
What a throwback with Nintendo Power! So many memories 🫶 I totally forgot that they’d have those multi-page guides (is that even the right word?) for newer games or games that were about to come out. I was 100% influenced by one of them to get Harvest Moon for SNES! 😂❤
Nearly 2 hours of game guides?! What a treat! Thank you so much for this! Hope you have a great weekend and New Years!
Thank you! You too! 🎊
Good call, Falling.

I Love Nintendo Game Books ❤❤❤
I loved collecting game guides when they existed. Sometimes I liked the guide better than the actual game.
