I absolutely love G&P's free dance. It's a shame for the errors though. I think if they had more chances to perform it competitively, it would have looked better. I know that some people felt that K&O should have won. But I personally cannot agree. First off, the level of content in their free dance was way lower than not only G&P but also A&P. But they also made a huge error in the Golden Waltz compulsory dance. Towards the end of the first pattern after the right inside swing of the open choctaw in foxtrot position, K&O failed to successfully change into a kilian position, causing them to stumble very noticeably. That not only caused them to lose unison and go off-timing for the rest of that sequence in the corner of the ice but they also failed to skate the left inside swing of the open choctaw in an actual kilian position. Not to mention the left inside edge of that part of the choctaw was very shallow, shaky, not in sync with the music, and not in unison. I thought they should've been 6th or lower in that dance.
On another note, I thought Anissina & Peizerat were badly ripped off at these Worlds. I had them in 2nd after the compulsories, 3rd in the OD (behind G&P and K&O - although I'm not a fan of K&O I will admit that their tango OD was excellent that year), and 2nd in the FD. I know many hated their Middle Eastern free dance that year but it was so much more ambitious than either K&O or B&K's free dances. I know that I'm in the minority with that opinion however.
