This is possibly one of my favourite scenes of the show. To this day, I still say "Senseless waste" (overly dramatically) if I spill tea or whatever. With this sketch, its the detail about the M&S food bit that does it for me, "coarsley cut corriander, lime wedge, ummm". The other thing I really enjoy about the show as a whole is that Ashey Ash and Jarwayne are kinda dumb, but they come up with beautifully poetic things like: "If man say him a ting, him a ting" and in the episode whatheather, when they are discussing a dodgy religious organisation setup by some guy called Eddie and Ashley's response is just amazing.
That line is bizarrely poignant and lyrical, you're right. They're Shakespearean Fools, really--ostensibly silly and annoying and pranky and just there to muck about, but actually quite astute as well as eloquent, making profound observations about modern life.
Ya done know mans a wagamama man init, yes blud manamansawagamamaman every day, or m&s simply food on a slowwww day, you wana take it to the simply game?
Everyone complaining about how they're talking need to grasp the concept of society and colloquial language. There's a lot of foreign cultural influence in the UK mostly from the Caribbean and street slang has evolved. Other than that this is one of the funniest scenes in PhoneShop
As people have commented below, wagamamas is a chain restaurant and Jerwayne says 'wagamamas man' meaning the obvious but 'dun know' doesn't mean don't know it basically means you know with great emphasis. Similar to 'you get me'.
Thanks for clearing that up homie...I heard this on a new track today on Soundcloud and couldnt figure it out!!! Heres the track>>> soundcloud.com/coolidgeave/hertz-wagamama-man
Jerwayne says "You don't know, man's a Wagamama man, innit", referring to the Asian noodlebar restaurant chain Wagamama, where Ashley would be getting the salmon teriyaki bowl.
Says you don't know man's a wagamama man and hence the title of the clip. it is a japanese restaurant popular in the UK. I think there are quite a few in Aus as well.
I'm Australian and LOVE this show, but having trouble deciphering what they are talking about at 0:33. "You don't know man's a ......" ??? Can someone shed some light on what they say and what it means?
When he says done know , it means . I done know , its an emphasis on agreement , like if i said to you do you know charlene takes it up the gary glitter on first night , you say dead set or bigtime yeAh , this is done know or dun kno
"...and a bag for life to put them in. Then bin the lot."
That line absolutely cracks me up...

Coarsely cut coriander... it's the use of coarsely that makes it extra funny. Victoria Wood probably was the first to do that
Love this show, “Yam in the Microwave” my fav scene 🙏😀
Living in Dubai all my brit friends turned me on to all these shows. Americans don't know what they're missing. Quality comedy in the UK!
