    Most people think time is like a river, flowing swift and sure in one direction, but I have seen the face of time and I can tell you they're wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I am and why I say this. Sit down and I will tell you a tale like none which you have ever heard.

      the writing is this trilogy is truly great. I like how he says he will give him the dagger by plunging it into his heart, which he doesn't do in this game.... but he does at the very end of the trilogy

      This game is underrated. Sure it has a high rating on metacritic. But when talking about the all time greatest games, you never hear this get mentioned. And nowadays people are looking for a new Assassin's creed to reboot the series and regain their interest. What they should really be asking for is a new Prince of Persia. We need to remind people about this game, and we need to get fans of Assassins creed who have never played POP to play it. Then we might have another POP game in our hands in a few years.

    You know what's funny? Ubisoft is still a good company and they still make nice games and wonderful soundtracks. But when you listen to this. These 50 minutes. In these 50 minutes lies more personality and wonder than any Ubisoft game that has been produced in recent years. I played this game rather late so I don't have any nostalgic feelings towards it. Thus you can trust me when I say that nearly every song in this soundtrack is a masterpiece, it sets the mood for every scene perfectly, gets one excited, emotional or whatever suits the game because this soundtrack is so good it can invoke any emotion it wishes in the player. All i want to say is that Ubisoft aught to go back to their previous games and not remake them to cash in but analyze the living crap out of them, see what they did right back then and START DOING IT AGAIN GOD DAMMIT!

      I agree so much. Assassin's Creed is ok as a series but it feels by the numbers and sterile at times. Plus, since its success, Ubisoft has been homogenising its releases to the point where they all feel like Assassin's Creed mods or re-skins.

      @@santicobain5668 I think it's closer to what the devs originally envisioned, but couldn't because of hardware limitations. Anyways, to me he looks the same as he did in the forgotten sands (a game that i think is more overlooked in the POP series because of it's mediocre story).
      I was a bit taken aback by it at first, but the prince went through several redesigns throughout the series, and while the newest one is the most drastic, I don't think it's any different than say edgy nu metal redesign he went through in Warrior Within.

    9:50 is the song that first drew me into this game. I still remember seeing the commercials with that song in the backdrop, seeing how FUCKING COOL the concept of just rewinding time was, the super awesome running along walls, etc., BEGGED for this game for Christmas. Played the FUCK out of it.. Best game I played as a kid. Starfox Adventures came in at a close second.

      The Two Thrones is definitly the weakest of the three though IMO, still a very good game.

    Why cant we have games like this anymore. When you story is deep and complex with twists. And gameplay that were engaging, not just hold down one button and your character does everything.
    Pop games were hard even brutal, but they were rewarding, because they forced you to learn and improve. We need more of these games, or at the very least a HD remaster for PC.

    I like 2000s games. They have a "soul". I have a feeling, thst developers wrre crewting this games not only to earn monet, but also so player trully could get into the gaming process, to be fully in gameplay, tracks also were always in time and picked up with time.

    • @superiorduck3736
      @superiorduck3736 ปีที่แล้ว

      I fully agree with you that 2000's games were better. back then gaming wasn't as famous and mainstream, so the makers had to work hard on their games to succeed. nowadays they depend on the reputation their franchise got from making good games in the past. thinking they can work half as hard and that people would still buy their game because they're famous (sadly they are true). and that's why games today are a corrupt business literally and figuratively. that said...

  • @buntado6

    I played this trilogy in inverse order and I was surprised... this IS the one that I enjoyed the most and in my opinion had better combat. No list of redundant combos that were only different ways to do the same attack, each move was calculated and the dagger powers had more variety. Plus the narrative... gosh, I realize this was never intended to be a trilogy, nothing else needed to be wrapped up, is just one of so many cases where two sequels are spawned but with new plot elements that were never integral to the original story.

    • @Scow2
      @Scow2 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      buntado6 I don't think it was intended to be a trilogy - all three games are stand-alone. That said, I think this one's combat really was inferior to the follow-ups, even though the Prince was at his best characterization-wise in this game. The combos in the follow-ups may have had weird names and been largely indistinguishable, but that really just made the battles flow better and handle more intuitively.

    • @SnitchSeeker
      @SnitchSeeker 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree about the characterization. The Prince in this game was so charming and playful. No wonder the Princess fell in love with him. And then, I get some emo edgelord in Warrior Within. Why change what was already perfect?

    This is one of the best games on the PS2 but damn, how much was cut from it, Ubisoft even considered dividing it in two parts for how it was long, these are the cut elements:
    - The Original Story had six characters, the Prince, two love interests (Farah and another girl), two helping hands and two villains (The Vizier and someone else).
    - Azad was supposed to be the Prince's Home Palace.
    - The Dagger was a family treasure.
    - Farah was the Prince's wife from an arrangement between Sharaman and the Maharaja and the two wouldn't like each other at the beginning with the Prince loving someone else (The scrapped second love interest).
    - The first beginning of the game had the Prince and his men exploring a secret underground Temple, filled with traps and puzzle, and discovering the Sands Of Time.
    - The Vizier would've claimed the Staff, which would promise him immortality (They reused this with the Dagger speaking to him in T2T).
    - The Sands wouldn't have transformed everyone and the Prince would've met corpses during his adventures (What remains of it are the corpses during the initial siege and the Azad Guard being alive before transforming).
    - Azad was supposed to have a giant Market, a bigger and labyrinth-like Harem, a bigger Observatory, a Citadel, a Foundry (Re-used in WW) and some dungeons in the Prison.
    - There were going to be more animal enemies: Tigers (Re-Worked into the Scavengers from WW), Lizards (Re-Worked into the Spiked Beasts from WW), Bulls (Re-Worked into the Bull-like enemies in TFS) and Hawks.
    - There was supposed to be a creature called Griffin as a three times boss fight, it would've been encountered at the Broken Bridge (Originally set at Night), at the Drawbridge of the Tower of Dawn and at the top of the Tower of Dawn.
    - The Griffin was going to blow up the Broken Bridge, destroy the wall (Making the Prince fall into the Prison) and make Farah fall, killing her.
    - There were going to be Horse Riding levels (With Sand Horses) and levels with flying carpets (Powered by the Sands).
    - Rope wall-running and fighting wall running (Re-used in WW).
    - Various human enemies: Royal Guards, Yellow Sand Guards, Merchants (Which had the same gameplay as the Warriors), other Harem Sand Women and water enemies (Guards and Slaves transformed while being in the water and mutated into jelly-like monsters).

    E3 2019, please give us a true PoP The Sands of Time Remaster!!

      @DestinyYT0 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Remaster has already been made. The HD trilogy sucked ass. Graphics and textures was so odd and pointy. The series needs a real ReMake*, take Tomb Raider for example. Would be perfect for UbiSoft and they would honestly profit because Prince of Persia fans started playing AC after the two thrones. So there are still lots of PoP fans out there. Ubisoft needs to dedicate and really put effort into the game to revive the series.
