    I started off with the D3100 and 35mm 1.8g, such an awesome combo for a beginner set up! Even though that was around 5 cameras ago, I still remember that rig and how happy I was with it 👌🏼

    Great work boss. Personally most of your shots look way better unedited than edited to me. The unedited ones look more original with better color. The edited ones look like too white or washed to me. My opinion. 👍

    Amazing videos, thank you. I am planning on using my husband's old 3100 for my Instagram pictures, he has both the 18-55 mm and 18-140mm lenses. Do you think these can get the job done for now or should i upgrade to a better lens for better pictures? If so what's your recommendation?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That is awesome! I know someone getting decent images with the 18-140 lens. You'll need a good amount of space when using the 18-140 for portraits though. As for lens recommendations, what kind of photos are you doing on a weekly basis? I usually recommend the Sigma 17-50 F/2.8 or even the Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 lens.

      @@BoostLeekdMedia I am currently using my smartphone and I take regular lifestyle and outfit pictures with some portraits for make up, mostly indoors but some outdoors as well. So the 18-140 is not good for indoors full body pictures?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lailas.legacy the 18-140 will definitely work for full body images. You will just need a decent light source. If it's too dark inside, your images will be pretty grainy from the ISO noise.

    I have 18-55mm. Can you do a video on the settings for the best photos, please?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While the 18-55 is okay, it's a decent overall lens. If you're doing portraits, it's best to use the lens during the day with a lot of light. When I had the 18-55, I was usually doing portrait photographs around the 50mm to 55mm range because I wanted a slightly 'blurry' background. It's a challenge to use the 18-55 for portraits but it can definitely be done.

    Hi question, I’m going to start taking photos with my D3100. It will be in a skating rink, some still and some moving. What settings/lens do you recommend?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Settings really vary depending on how much light you have and what lens you're using. What lens do you have? For decent lenses that will handle the lighting at a skating rink, you will need a F/2.8 lens, especially if you're further away from the skating rink. I would suggest a used 70-200 F/2.8 but those are usually around $500 on the mid-range and the low range, they're about $300-$350.

      The D7500 is an amazing camera. Turn the dial to the 'No Flash' mode. The camera will not use the built in flash.
      As for lens suggestions, it's hard to suggest one for you as I do not know what kind of photography you will be doing 90% of the time. There are MANY varieties of lenses that will fit your style of photography. One lens I would HIGHLY suggest is the Tamron 17-50 F/2.8. I bought mine used for $80 and it's a wonderful lens to learn with. Feel free to ask and I hope this helps.

    This may be a stupid question but in what mode do you shoot? I just got the D3100 and all these modes confuse me 😅 Portrait-Mode, Manual-Mode? I don‘t know, cause the flashlight is always on and can not be turn off, is that normal? Sorry for my questions but I am a beginner-beginner as you can tell 😂

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      One of the reasons why the flash would be always turning on could be because you're using the camera in a very low light situation and the camera will know to use the flash.
      I am mainly using manual mode but learn at your own pace :) It does take a lot of time and effort to learn the camera settings. Depending on what lens you have, I would go into Shutter Mode to understand shutter speed. If you don't want to use flash, on the dial, the mode where the flash sign is crossed out will not make the camera use it's flash. I hope this helps! Enjoy the D3100. It's still an excellent camera to learn with!

    • @BoostLeekdMedia

      It's not a bad deal for a D3300. I'm still seeing the D3300 bodies, around my area, go on sale between $300-$400 and the sellers do not post the shutter count.
      If the camera is in good working order and the lenses do not have a lot of dust or fungus inside of the lenses, it's definitely a good deal. I hope this helps.

    please help : how you took sharp pictures at 1.8 using viewfinder?????
    Is there a problem with my D3100
    I am using F 1.8G nikon lens. I get blurry images when picturees are taken through viewfinder but are excellent when using live view .
    Things get better as i move towards narrow aperture. At F8 i get nearly as sharp photos as on the live view.
    please tell whether you are doing the focus manually????

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is your subject moving or not moving? Are you taking photos with a lot of light (during the day) or with limited light (at night with single light source)? With the 35mm F/1.8G DX lens, I am relying on the D3100's autofocus or portait settings. I found using the Optical View Finder instead of the Live View is much more reliable as the autofocus on the live view is a bit slow.
      If you are getting blurry images, your shutter speed may be too slow. Depending on how much light you're working with, raise your shutter speed to 1/100 or faster to make the subject not as blurry.
      I hope this helps. If not, feel free to ask again and I'll try my best to help.

    • @pradeepkumar-sx1ty
      @pradeepkumar-sx1ty หลายเดือนก่อน

      nope subject is steady, blurry image isuue of the viewfinder bothers at every shutter speed as high as 1/2000 also at all lighting conditions. As i mentioned that same picture is crystal clear when using live view even at shutter speed 1/5.
      please note at aperture F8 viewfinder becomes more efficient in pitch dark condition, live view struggles to focus due to obvious reasons you already know. Its the aperture wider than F4 which bothers the focusing ability of my view finder. I have tested on a tripod

    No matter how expensive or cheap the camera/lens gear is they all have one thing in common. . Photo manipulating software. Can anybody just take a nice photo without editing it or is this what photography is all about. Seems to me the software is more important than the camera gear used..

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a good discussion. There is no right or wrong way about it though. There are photographers out there that capture what they like.
      Software is just another tool that helps the overall image. Especially in today's world, the software is there to help enhance your artwork. It's a good discussion for sure. It takes A LOT of lighting equipment and understanding how light works to really 'get it right the first time' for photos and I'm sure there are a handful of photographers that like that style of 'get it right in the camera'.
