I was obsessed with that movie when it came out. I saw it alone in theaters for the 1st time, and had a long walk home alone in the middle of the night when it got out. I ended up sprinting most of it. Been a big fan of found footage films ever since.
Adam this is amazing!!!! Blair Witch is THE movie that make me a horror fan. I absolutely loved it, have the DVD, Blu ray, have seen it around 100 times. Is so so awesome of you offering your platform to help the cast be heard
We totally bought into Blair Witch. My girlfriend at the time and wife now were living in Orlando and working at Universal Studios at the time. You did have to be there for it to make the impact it did! Now we live just a few hours from where ot was filmed. Love the video bro! Love all your video's! Keep em coming!
I ate up everything to do with BWP back in the day! I loved every bit of "evidence" & lore & when we went to see the film I was SO excited! Our friend was manager at the theatre so we got an authentic movie poster from him and a reel of trailers of the film! So all-in-all the BWP is my all-time favorite horror "found footage documentary" with the greatest back story & incredible acting (they were so authentic!) Thanks for sharing this experience with us Adam! PS: we live in the woods so there is always a creep factor, especially at night! 💜🤟🙏
Massive respect to the people in Blair Witch who created an iconic horror film and story. I watched Blair Witch for the first time about 10 years ago when I was in my early 20 and I was definitely creeped out. I LOVED IT. They did so good and I hope they feel super proud of themselves. ♥
I saw this advertised in my local newspaper that it was showing at the Ritz Five in Philly….at the time it was a low key theater that didn’t show the big movies…..after watching it I legit thought it was real until it went mainstream. I visited the house back years ago near Gaithersburg MD. Btw Adam, my first video I watched of yours was in the Blair Witch filming locations….time flies
Here in MD they had a weekend camping excursion thru the area they filmed the movie. We spent the day in Burkittsville and the next camping. We had a great time. Such a shame the actors didnt get what they were worth. I hope they are given what they are asking.
BWP was something that just had to be experienced. I had just graduated from college and was hunting for my first job when saw it. I was totally fooled and thought it was 100% real. Great vlog Adam!
Kind of ironic that you made this vlog cause the first video I watched of yours was the Blair Witch filming location one. Since then I’ve been a huge fan of yours!! Love the videos!
I was young when I watched BWP and remember at the end not knowing what happened and that being the scariest part. To me it redefined the horror cut and paste format.
I remember the hype when I was in highschool here in the Netherlands, everybody was talking about it... I have the movie on VHS 📼 and DVD📀... I still enjoy it! It was a great time! 👍
I remember I ate some mushrooms and watched in a theater. The really trippy part is I was all alone in the theater. It was a matinee show a few weeks after it had been out already. It was scary but fun
I used to play Blair Witch with my neighborhood friends in my backyard when we were little!! It's all thick woods back there and a creek!! Good times!! 💓😂 As an adult I loved all of the bonus content they created around the movie. I didn't know any of the conspiracy stuff or the website until way later!
My girlfriend and I at the time went to the mall to see this movie. There was an eerie silence amongst the crowd as we exited the theater. I remember feeling embarrassed that I came to the theater to see this movie.
From what I have read the cast members each received a payment of $300,000 after the film was a success. That's a pretty darn good paycheck in 1999 money.
@@GDavis49 so if you work at wendy's and they decide to release a new burger 20 years later they owe you money? It sounds like greed to me. If their likeness is used in the new one then they should be paid but otherwise they should be sued for talking crap.
I totally agree that you either love it or hate it. In my opinion, before watching you have to be primed into thinking it's real to enjoy the film to its full extent, which is hard nowadays.
Remember I was graduating High School and all they hype about it being real... whole bunch of us wanted to have a Senior Trip to Maryland thinking to explore the woods. We'd be fine with a large enough group XD
Adam, in the late 90’s I was in the same class as the guys that made the Blair Witch Project when I was at UCF and took a few film classes. They were cool to chat with.
Blair Witch was filmed all over Maryland. Visiting Burkettsville (site of the cemetery), Seneca Creek State Park (Coffin Rock), and Granite (Griggs house) make for a great day of site seeing and hiking. And, who can forget the Scooby-Doo Project that followed on Halloween of 1999!
yes "BLAIR WITCH PROJECT" was indeed something of its own back then, a fan film before there were any fan films, before the fact checking internet. it had me going as well. and really good score with your "REACTION STRIPE", I have several MECA brand Gremlin figures big fan to, your purchase...it got my attention.
Absolutely awesome vlog. Love the panel session. I used to live in a rural part of San Diego known as Harbison Canyon. Houses are really spread out and back in those days when the sun went down, it was dark and spooky as all get out. A couple of weeks before watching the movie in that house, I was told the house was on Native American burial ground. In those days, that was hard to verify. Watching Blair Witch at 9 pm at night in the house, in a rural area, scared the hell out of me. I didn't sleep for days cause I kept hearing the ghost kids at all hours of the night. Best memory now and I have never done any research on the movie to ruin it. Anytime I go through that area I think of that movie, my fantastic fright and feel like I am there with Heather, Michael, and Josh 💀 🤘🏻
Blair Witch Project came out when I was 14, and I totally believed the hype around it, and I love it so much. I even have the books affiliated with it.
Worked with Joshua Leonard on the set of Scorpion about ~8-10 years ago. Super nice guy! I was an assistant director of photography for all of Seasons 2-4. I definitely fan-girl’d hard as Blair Witch was so influential as a kid of the 80s & teen of the 90’s.
Blair Witch was one of the creepiest, and fun, movie experience I've ever had in my life. My wife, who's 15 years younger than me, doesn't appreciate it at all because of the era & timing differences you pointed out.😅
Blair Witch Project was a groundbreaking movie when it comes to “fan made” low budget movies. Broke records I believe, very well done, but WOW! the Blair Witch Project 2 was horrible…. My opinion
It made a quarter billion worldwide on a $60 000 budget. That's around an 8000 percent return. It would be near impossible for a low budget film to get into theaters today.

Blair Witch came out when I graduated HS and I remember absolutely hating it. I couldn't understand why people liked it at the time--same with other "found footage" movies like Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield etc later on. Looking back, the whole era of the very early 2000s was really strong with believable urban legends, ghosthunters, "scary" stories, folklore stuff like Bloody Mary etc. I appreciate that era more now. Any and every urban legend was "true" before the internet.

Blair Witch was so scary! I can’t even think about. lol
it's a damn shame these great actors haven't been properly compensated for their work... they all but single-handedly created one of the best horror films of all time and they were left out while the suits made millions.
I love Blair witch project 2 book of shadows especially Marlyn mansion-Disposal teens song 🤘🏽
I enjoyed it. I believed it was real at the time. The internet was still new and no social media. The movie played with your imagination!
It was great saying hi to you in spooky empire .
At the end of that movie the whole Theater was totally quiet when getting up and leaving.
