So, to point out, where Stranger an Ana are hugging you see a light as Stranger says "Ana look!" thats a Ghost about to revive him... thats the sound your ghost make when you take it out to summon sparrow or go into orbit.
Cool theory, but I think it's also likely the consoles just powering on and the Stranger pointing out the Traveler's not running. It'd be so cool to see a Guardian Rasputin, though!

The Traveler left Riis because the darkness came before they were ready to defend it. But humanity has the tools and manpower to defend the Traveler. Man’s blind to the character development of Mithrax, Caiatl, zavala, Saladin, Ana bray, Rasputin, crow, saint, Osiris and probably more I’m forgetting b/c I’m not a lore junkie.
Cayde was overrated. He wasn’t that much better of a character than anyone he just had personality. None of the characters are that compelling. Ana bray is so annoying. But they have been wrapping the story up nicely the last couple years. It’s gotten a bit better I’d say.
You just want to hate this game. Bungie has been popping out quality stories in Destiny for a while now. They've really upped their game. Go back and play it, you obviously weren't paying attention

Its a shame Bungie made Destiny a FoMo simulator grindfest. I probably put 10k hours and more money then I want to think about into this franchise. I had no free time and I was honestly miserable. Then they put in their borderline criminal transmog system and I 100% noted out for good. I hope all of you enjoy the game that I wish I hadn't grown to hate.

Details about the collapse are hazy at best, and there are still many unknowns about what truly went down during the collapse. We don't know if the traveler willingly stayed, or was heavily damaged and went into a "survival coma". We don't know if the ghosts were to save humanity, or the traveler. And we don't know the role the nine played in the Traveler's extended stay. I think there are way too many unknown variables to concretely say what happened one way or another.
Here are the possibilities 1. It wanted to challenge the darkness 2. It was getting out of the way of the city so its rubble wouldn't crush the city 3. It saw it was surrounded and couldn't move without being destroyed
I find the ending a bit odd. The Warsats are super strong yes. But the traveler is a god. Why would conventional weaponry be able to destroy it? They couldn't destroy the pyramids? But I guess it kinda makes sense because the Cabal semi-succeeded in supressing it? Man the traveler is weak.

Edit: Did a search of own, there are numerous reports from 2020 of bungie confirming they are not developing D3 at that time, and I found additional articles (one released last month) that confirm that Bungie has not released any statements about D3 being in development since. So again, mind telling me where Bungie said they are making D3?
