Grt video Peter loved it. Plz share some of ur strategies with regular 40 years old like many of ur viewers who are struggling with body aches, recovery
I wouldn't normally sit through a one hour plus talk but as others also mention, Chris Hemsworth is a very down to earth, transparent well spoken guy I really enjoyed listening to him.
Limitless was an excellent series and I commend Hemsworth for his courage throughout. It also helped me understand some new things about health and preventative medicine.
This is for sure TOP 5 shows you have ever done! As said before these videos saved my life.... I always forward these to friends and family!!! Chris Hemsworth.. thank you for being so transparent. I am sure lives will change.
I appreciate the focus on alzheimer's prevention through lifestyle. There is a strong predisposition to the disease on my father's side. I'm only 32, but I have considered getting tested for this gene. There is a psychological toll when you have a familial connection to it, especially when you've seen a loved one pass from it, and then you have to contemplate that it could be your future, as well. I am more motivated than ever to care for my wellbeing. Thanks to Chris for sharing this deeply personal experience.
There's strong evidence that healthy lifestyle habits - such as diet, exercise and not smoking - may play a role in reducing your risk of Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. I would say that genes load the gun, but lifestyle pulls the trigger. 💯
I'm no expert, but my father probably has some issues (sometimes he can't find the words he want to say, probably due to his not so significant IR), but we have it under controll. Long story short you should look into dr berg's videos on the subject, my father's "thinking time" decreased significantly, and it didn't take anything crazy (like exercise more & more frequently, "built" his stomach acid up where it should be thus increased nutrient absorption - all this by drinking 2-3 glasses of lemon juice instead of one, consuming less - but not low - carbs, not eating till he is full - food coma prevention - and not snacking after dinner - 12 hours of "fasting" or less). Nothing crazy, no fancy supplements, just fair improvements.
Trana Transparency!? Did we watch the same potcast?! That was over an hour of ass kissing. Guessing the topic of his massive steroid use was off the table
Limitless inspired me to take cold showers in the morning and I'm about to finish a 3 day water fast. During the pandemic I gained 60lbs so I'm finally making healthy changes. Thanks Thor!
So enjoyed this video as I do all of yours. My son also plays a superhero and hearing Chris’ take on life is so online with his. I’m an endurance cyclist, and just did Race Across America at 60. Living our best versions of ourselves as we age is so important to ourselves as well as our families. Thanks for sharing
Loved the podcast and the Limitless series. My wife has been preaching many of the topics and concepts in the series for several years now. Chris, Peter and the rest of the cast have presented the material in a down to earth and relatable way. Many thanks.
Awesome. Loved Limitless! It’s one of those times you think, I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing Thor, it’s the same for this series. So glad you were both on board!!!! Love it! 😍😍😍
One of the best of best series ever. I love the fasting episode too much that I did a 72 hour long water fasting. It changed me and my views on health and food. Thanks to the entire team for doing something incredible like this.
My son and I loved the series and this conversation is such a great follow-up to go deeper. I love that you are bringing sleep up to the forefront of the conversation Dr. Attia! So glad that so many more people will see your work.
I loved this episode of "Limitless" (fasting)". I learned a lot, and my hat's off to Peter and Chris. I thought the science piece was well-done; enough to explain-but not the, um, publication version. Chris--thank you for doing this. I loved you in Thor, but this--this was core humanity. You have my gratitude.
Man, great interview! I can really relate to the section about telling Chris about the bad gene, and how he felt like you’re gonna live forever. I have always been concerned about keeping healthy and thought I also would live a long life. Then I got my CAC score back which is quite elevated. Now I’m just confused about how I ended up with so much atherosclerosis, scary times now.
Watching this mini-series was fabulous and so insightful. This is my kind of drug! I highly recommend it for anyone who would like to live a happier, longer, and fulfilling life.
Giants among men. I love so much about each of you and even your obvious friendship. It’s a beautiful thing to see men like you have the opportunity to know each other, collaborate, and show admiration and respect. You’re doing so much for the lay person like myself by offering a window into your life and by sharing these projects and conversations. It’s poetry really and it brings more meaning to an observer’s life. Thank you. Any envy I could have for the opportunities of you and your loved ones is quickly overcome by a deep and sincere reverence. You’re extraordinarily good people in an often brutal world and your joy brings me joy. It’s a special privilege to follow your endeavors. Wishing you both the absolute best in life and love.
Loved the series and appreciated even more Peter's involvement. One (biased) comment would have been an episode on the general resiliency of the musculoskeletal system. This was touched on in the swim and strength episode, but a deeper dive into injury recovery (I.E. Chris' Peroneal strain; extrapolating evidence from what I saw filmed). Would have been great to shed some light on how the system recovers from stress and injury (collagen deposition, etc). There is certainly an aspect of the "Limitless" capabilities of the human musculoskeletal system from a "body armor" perspective.
Educational and entertaining, but I feel that these conversations omit socioeconomic factors. It's also important to realize that Chris and Peter are two relatively young, highly influential multi-millionaires. While they are both hard working and highly motivated, they also enjoy the comfort of knowing that working is entirely optional for them. I'm saying this because the impact of work and finance related stress cannot be underestimated. Most people have to work until retirement age, fully dependent on their day job(a lot of people hate their job) and all the uncertainties that come with it, compromises that have to be made, etc. For many of these people there is always a level of stress there, and this has undeniable health implications. Secondly, most people cannot indulge in their passion full-time the way Chris and Peter can. It's incredibly satisfying to be able to live life entirely by your own rules. I think the goal of increasing longevity for society in general would go a long way if more people were able to live lives of comfort and security, a blessing only available to a small percentage of fortunate individuals today. I'm convinced that this is something only advanced technology can enable. For instance, nowadays I make a living off my hobby and passion, but I vividly remember the nightmare of my previous office job and how the long hours and work schedule negatively impacted my health and happiness. A lot of people remain stuck in this daily grind, juggling unsatisfactory, stressful work and their personal life, and it takes a huge toll on their longevity.
Absolutely agree with your comment. And congrats for being able to escape a dayli job routine. I still need to find out what can I do to escape it too.
That's what makes Chris Hemsworth Awesome he gives his all and above expectations. CHRIS keep being "YOU,"that's what makes you different from the rest that is why you stand out, many see you with lust and you love that but that's not who you are if people actually dare take a peek under the surface to see YOU many would see the part that makes you awesome if others see it they would never take advantage of your kindness and appreciate you not for what you can do but because of who you are. That's why you are my Hero you are an inspiration, you are the modern day Fonzi, the great Kahuna, but what makes you the coolest I can call you my Bro ❤️
Maybe its just me, but whenever the camera pans to Attia, he has this goofy star struck smile on his face like he can't actually believe he is sitting there with Chris Hemsworth.
That's a real missed opportunity... I don't judge and completely sympathise with actors who take performance enhancing drugs to build a particular physique for a role... But I do think an honest and open discussion about how that impacts health and wellbeing would be extremely valuable to youngsters who look to these guys as role models.
@@alertbri yeah no judgement against people who use steroids but this was touched on in a different podcast, how celebrities actively avoid talking about steroid use and in this case it could have to do with the fact that Chris has a workout app called centr with programs titled “the Thor workout” and doesn’t want to associate in peoples minds his results with steroids
yea, nah. what do you think it means for his further roles when theres the big uncle Disney? I don't think he's at full liberty to go on and be all mushy about making the physique for a role when all this cancel cult thing is still thriving
my stepmom of 68 is swimming every weekend during winter in Denmark. She does not think she is going to die, no drama, no sense of this being a special feat. Context is king.
I can’t believe i just watched Limitless, unbelievably amazing, so inspiring and incredible Well done to everyone who worked on that project I’m getting all my tests done this week 😊
Thanks for sharing this interview. I also really enjoyed the Limitless Series. While many of those feats most people could not easily do, it was very educational and very well done series.
I loved this series and to see Peter (long term follower and massive fan) in this was great. That said, I know it can never come out, but TRT/PED use is part of the game with Chris (one look at the difference in physique when he’s training for Thor and 40lbs heavier on an already beefy top tier genetic physique- can see this clearly at the end of the strength episode) and would be great to see how this effects anything and if additional considerations needed etc…. Or hypothetically an upload if one were in TRT… does the needle change? This isn’t meant to be a derogatory comment- massive fan of Chris and his work ethic is incredible with or without the sauce! If I was being paid millions a time, I dam well would and no judging and appreciate it may be hidden behind about 100000 NDA’s. It does physiologically affect recovery and other mechanisms in the body and it’s a bit of a elephant in the room. But then again… what the hell does this office head of commercial really know about anything? There’s always the slight possibility I could be wrong. Lol. Either way, wonderful upload Peter and thanks for all that you out out there.
I do wish people were more open about this. But they must fear the effect it would have on their audience- especially young impressionable men- who may start taking these drugs. That said, there's a strange conflating between health and this (over?) use of the body. Not exactly leading to longevity.
Yeah, my first thought when I saw this video was, "Are they going to discuss his obvious use of PEDs or is this going to be puff piece?". Hadn't watched it but looked through the comments to read reactions first - guess it's the latter, though, based on yours. Disappointing that Peter would have left this out if the goal of this channel is truly to educate.
@@mejohn101 yeah I agree. He’s genetically gifted so when he’s not filming he looks amazing- but probably genetically elite and potentially natty (TRT maybe… if so as long as the normal realms then it would be okay and kind of protective). It’s a strange one and yeah I wish they’d be more open too.
Admire Chris a lot as an actor but I think he is quite exceptional man willing to push himself beyond normal and seems to have no ego about his ability.
You were my inspiration and motivation for reaching out to better myself and my future to overcome my fear of swimming in murky rivers or beach and much more with your help of CENTR FiT🥰
The ''funniest'' thing to me about the whole show, is that they made Chris do things that Tom Cruise would do by himself for his movies. Walk on the edge of a crane on a building in Sydney? The Burj Khalifa scene in M: I Ghost Protocol. Climb a robe attached to a shuttle? The Helicopter sequence in Fallout.
I think people need to be careful about doing ice baths and overdoing it. I did one one time and I stayed in too long about half an hour I think. I got out and I thought it was fine I was obviously very cold but I couldn’t warm up for a long time and I actually started to feel like I was dying. I think I had hypothermia. So hopefully nobody is as stupid as me and thinks they can go that long.
My mother sadly had early onset alzheimers. My 3 siblings all think about that and if we git that gene. I feel so fortunate that I found this data that what you do to and put in your body, as well as stress management will all help to keep it away.
Loved this series and the interview. One thing I wish they talked about in the show was rock climbing during the strength episode as it involves full body strength, mobility and mental focus and stress management. And its pretty accessible as most cities will have a climbing gym, whereas not everyone can climb a rope in their daily routine.
The thing with rock climbing is that you have to get very good to make it a full body workout. The limiting factor is always grip strength and once that goes your done. For Anyone overweight it’s a non starter and even then you need to really train in it to get anywhere. I know. I’ve climbed for 25 years and been an instructor.
@@simonmcintosh6565 idk I feel the benefits as a v3-4 climber. Still think it would have been a better recommendation than rope climbing for total body strength that’s approachable. The climb was definitely the better feat of strength for the show but as an implementation at the end of the episode climbing or sled push/pull might have been better for the viewers.
@@matttcameron_ i don’t think the rope or climbing should be a suggestion for strength. Both are more in the skills branch. Climbing especially. The fact is neither are actually recommended for strength. All longevity stuff related to strength and muscle mass (which Attia is a master of.) would be dead lifts with trap bar, overhead presses, squats and some version of chest presses and pull ups. - I haven’t seen the series. I’m just an avid Peter Attia follower.
it's surprising that the growing epidemic of body dysmorphia and PED use, including but not limited to SARMs and peptides, in teenage and college age males didn't come up. between ross edgley, huge jackedman and thor, you've got some juicy friends. the health and ethical implications should be discussed. even your friend joe rogan has said hemsworth clearly abused PED's. how does that affect longevity?
Oh for goodness sake, he’s an actor. He has to look a certain way for a certain role and gets paid millions to do so. He’s not promoting the use of anything. What he does in his personal life is his business. I read a similar post about Dwayne Johnson yesterday . People need to get over themselves. If someone’s physique offends you, don’t watch their movie 🤷♀️
@@butterflywings8332 1. it's a show about longevity. PED use shortens your life. figure it out. at the very least, have an honest discussion about the pros and cons of TRT. 2. he literally lies to peter's face when asked about that scene in thor with russell crowe. that wasn't even his real physique. it was enhanced with CGI. because body dysmorphia and realistic human standards - even for people playing comic book characters - is now so far out of whack. but peter tries to provide him with cover, mentioning his genetic predisposition for type two muscle fibre growth. again, a missed chance to discuss actual realistic human standards, even for the genetically gifted. to dismiss my comment is to dismiss the importance of mental health and the growing epidemic of male body dysmorphia and PED abuse. and yes, i blame peter's celebrity friends. lies of omission are no less lies. edit: chris has also come under heavy criticism for selling his fitness app for tens of millions of dollars, which itself sold a lie that you could achieve his physique using his app, without disclosing his physique was almost certainly achieved in part through PED use. that is unethical.
If you paid attention to all of the podcasts, you’d realize that finding balance in life and a strong community is one of the most powerful determinants of longevity. The guy isn’t competing for a gold medal. He’s making movies and having a good time doing it.
@@jasocaz what does community and balance have to do with PED use? and if "he’s making movies and having a good time doing it," then why does chris talk about retiring from the business in the podcast? because "if you paid attention," he says it's precisely the lack of balance in life that comes from making movies. and technically, strong community is not a determinant of longevity. it's strong social support, which is different. you only need a few friends and family for that. and technically, purpose, not balance, is a determinant of longevity. maybe you should re listen to peter's podcast with arthur brooks. it seems i'm paying more attention to these podcast than you do.
I'm so happy I watched this series, especially the episode on fasting. I'm psyched to say my Physician Assistant coworker and I just finished our first 4.5 day fast. We're already planning a 5 day in January and will document pre, mid and post labs. Besides complete metabolic panel and urinalysis, would you recommend any other lab work? We plan to trend our daily blood sugar readings and ketone values as well as basic vital signs. Thanks again.
I enjoy so many of your videos Peter, but this was really interesting in many ways. Touched so many life challenges and I also have to agree with you about the movie Rush! I have to go and lift weights now 😄
I was in hospital and they didn’t provide any food I was prepared to eat. Fasting was very easy the only stress was I wanted meat so it would be easier to grow the muscle I had damaged . Before, after and during the operation
I'm 75 years old and the last time I was at a doctors and my last physical was in 1969. I did do the 23 & me test and they said I had the "fast twitch gene common in elite power athletes ". But unlike Chris I am Apoe2. Not much said about Apoe2.
It has to be off the table. I'm sure he has signed a bunch of NSAs with Disney. They would sue the crap out of him if he mentioned it. Unfortunately that is the reality of the entertainment business.
Great episode and great mini series. Peter, have you heard of the work Dr Bruce Lipton is doing around epigenetics? If not, I highly recommend looking into it.
I don't know if I missed it but has the method of the ice man Wim Hof been mentioned? Using the Wim Hof Method before an ice bath is the ideal way preparing for an ice bath or cold immersion.
No one should accept death and I viscerally hate anyone who tries to claim that it's a positive thing. If everyone woke up from their daily distractions and realised just how quickly they were dying and how debilitated their physiology would become along the way, the whole of humanity could band together to work on the problem and it would be solved in just a few generations. There have been so many leaps in the longevity and health-span and negligible senescence fields in the last few years and you can see just how it's really only funding that limits it. We're on the cusp of at least being able to get a cohort of people to the next technological intervention, that will then be able to give them enough time to get to the next, and so on, leapfrogging on biomedical technology until they reach a functional immortality ("functionally", because nothing can stop accidents, and your chances of having an accident go up the longer you go without one). The greatest tragedy of our species is that 100% of us has ceased to exist up to this point - so many brilliant minds lost to what is largely programmatic decline that evolved as part of the gene's eye view of reproduction. There's no actual need for it, and one day people will have the option not to be suppressed by it. Yes, we will have to deal with population level concerns and who gets access to the tech, but these things will become political issues like other we currently deal with and we will eventually sort it out. There's no other trajectory, really, it's what all of science and medicine is leading to. We either wipe ourselves out or we become practically gods, and it's a perverse mind that roots for the former, along with their own cessation of existence.

Maybe its just me, but whenever the camera pans to Attia, he has this goofy star struck smile on his face like he can't actually believe he is sitting there with Chris Hemsworth.
41:55 Such nicely shot scene. Art
Unsurprisingly no mention of steroids and how that effects longevity
This is definitely a puff piece interview for the show. Attia wouldn't dare hold a massive celebrity's feet to the fire on steroids.
yea, nah. what do you think it means for his further roles when theres the big uncle Disney? I don't think he's at full liberty to go on and be all mushy about making the physique for a role when all this cancel cult thing is still thriving
Well does that really need to be mentioned do you think steroid takers think “this will help me live longer”
my stepmom of 68 is swimming every weekend during winter in Denmark. She does not think she is going to die, no drama, no sense of this being a special feat. Context is king.
That's amazing. Swimming at 68 during winter is quite an experience. Wish she could share her lifestyle secrets if there are any. :)
I can’t believe i just watched Limitless, unbelievably amazing, so inspiring and incredible
Well done to everyone who worked on that project
I’m getting all my tests done this week 😊
Thanks for sharing this interview. I also really enjoyed the Limitless Series. While many of those feats most people could not easily do, it was very educational and very well done series.
What about 'Chris Hemsworth on Limitless, longevity, happiness and steroids'?
It's all the "chicken and broccoli".
@@ClarkKent71 he he
@@mejohn101 yeah I agree. He’s genetically gifted so when he’s not filming he looks amazing- but probably genetically elite and potentially natty (TRT maybe… if so as long as the normal realms then it would be okay and kind of protective). It’s a strange one and yeah I wish they’d be more open too.
"Learned how to *blast* the body from Ross Edgley." lol, trading cycles.
Admire Chris a lot as an actor but I think he is quite exceptional man willing to push himself beyond normal and seems to have no ego about his ability.
Great interview Peter!!! One of my favorites
My dream is to do podcasts like this. So entertaining and informative
There is no one like Chris ❤️
Excellent interview, Peter!
I’m going to go watch the Limitless series on Hulu, then come back and watch this episode!
The Helicopter sequence in Fallout.
such a great joy to watch Limitless and this pod also, both Chris and Peter are amazing…👊🏻💯🙋🏻♂️
Body language much Peter when you cover your mouth saying “you’re down to earth” 😂
Joe Rogan said he did this as well
Well done! Such a great interview!! Thank you Dr A!!
Great interview awesome video cheers🍻😎
That was really, really good.
Ah it makes sense, this was the podcast Joe Rogan was talking about where the actor asked not to talk about steroids.
Really enjoyed this. Thank you Peter
Video is amazingly brilliant ❤
Such a genuine interview!
so natty or not?
'yes'
i think we all know the answer to this by now.
🤣
"Not...even...close..bud"
What's natty ? Lol
That's one good looking SOB. And he got to interview Chris Hemsworth!
My mother sadly had early onset alzheimers. My 3 siblings all think about that and if we git that gene. I feel so fortunate that I found this data that what you do to and put in your body, as well as stress management will all help to keep it away.
See Dr Dale Bredesens Alzheimers treatment protocol
How does this only have 200K views! Sure it will climb over time
Loved the interview and the limitless series great work, keep it up.
He’s an absolute top bloke! Best male movie star in the world
Who gets Chris as a guest on their podcast. Jesus.
Yeah, he might
This lends a lot of credibility to the show. I'll check it out.
@@simonmcintosh6565 I found out about attia through the series so I’ll look more into his suggestions
@@matttcameron_ his podcast is mega. One of the top longevity experts in the world. Just get his channel or Spotify and bask in the knowledge 👍🙂
Here we have a so-called "handsome" lad and an intelligent/articulate man with no hair!
Intelligence/articulateness wins every single time!
it's surprising that the growing epidemic of body dysmorphia and PED use, including but not limited to SARMs and peptides, in teenage and college age males didn't come up. between ross edgley, huge jackedman and thor, you've got some juicy friends. the health and ethical implications should be discussed. even your friend joe rogan has said hemsworth clearly abused PED's. how does that affect longevity?
Peter's got a book to sell and these Hollywood folks don't like talking about their PEDs
Limitless was great. I don' tknow how Chris Hemsworth managed the cold water swim, that looked brutal
Phenomenal hair lets just acknowledge. Peter of course.
Great episode.
I enjoy so many of your videos Peter, but this was really interesting in many ways. Touched so many life challenges and I also have to agree with you about the movie Rush! I have to go and lift weights now 😄
Chris you are cool as hell. You’re okay in my book.
Too bad Peter didn’t (or wasn’t able to) address PED use on longevity. Quite sure the series fails to address this as well.
I’m trying to bring down my screen time but with new content like this it’s making it difficult 😂
Great episode and original content!
I was in hospital and they didn’t provide any food I was prepared to eat. Fasting was very easy the only stress was I wanted meat so it would be easier to grow the muscle I had damaged . Before, after and during the operation
Chris is awesome
I'm 75 years old and the last time I was at a doctors and my last physical was in 1969. I did do the 23 & me test and they said I had the "fast twitch gene common in elite power athletes ". But unlike Chris I am Apoe2. Not much said about Apoe2.
Just saw another podcast that APO2 people have great memories . Congrats
What is prescription for ice/cold and sauna? Just general guidelines please. Thanks.
Goshhh Another Level of power heyy captain A😂
YOU WON THE KEYS TO UNTOUCHABLES HOUSE
THANK YOU both for a FANTASTIC evening entertainment! But, now you are forcing me to FINALLY subscribe to Disney+😏
Great interview.
Let me guess: the PED discussion was off the table
It has to be off the table. I'm sure he has signed a bunch of NSAs with Disney. They would sue the crap out of him if he mentioned it. Unfortunately that is the reality of the entertainment business.
No reason to platform the druggie.
@@kbkesq So... pretty much every athlete and action star?
Thor’s words about how the evolution of body rewards him for surviving is a good moment.
Genes loads the gun, lifestyle pulls the trigger.
Chris: "There's something narcissistic about enjoying it too much."
Samuel L. Jackson: "I watch my movies all the time!"

Realize it .... ❤
Masterpiece
Good onya Chris
