Mt. Rainier Gondola Ride at Crystal Mountain Resort | Day Trip From Seattle

We took a short day trip from Seattle to Crystal Mountain Resort and rode the Rainier Gondola to the top of the mountain. It was a beautiful clear summer day and the views did not disappoint.

Is there much else to do in the area? Any small walks at the top?

Yep! Lots of hiking up there and they have a whole trail system within the resort. You can hike all the way back down if you want www.crystalmountainresort.com/things-to-do/activities/hiking

Did you have to take a 3pm gondola back down or could you take a later one?

You can take your time coming down, no set schedule.

Not the best footage of Rainier with that cloud but i haven't been there since 82. Is the January 1969 mark still on the lift poles? Has it been been marked higher?

It would have been nice to have the full view of the mountain but still impressive. Not sure about the 1969 mark, we didn't see that.
