1930's Wyandotte Farm Stake Truck Restoration

  • I purchased this 1930's Wyandotte Farm Stake Truck on eBay the beginning of June 2020. It was in great overall condition and just waiting to be restored. The rear tires were different than I've seen on these old wyandotte trucks and in poor shape. I kept the original tires to possibly mold new ones in the future. However for this restoration I replaced the rear tires with the same as the front. Thank you for watching!

The piece of metal that you folded up from the bottom of truck that is sticking up between the cab and truck bed Is only used when you have a dump bed on truck . All 4 of the tabs on a Wyandotte stake bed truck should be twisted or folded over to hold the bed to the frame this is the way it came from the factory. This piece of metal should be left flat in the bottom of truck. Like it is now it will only scratch the paint . You did a very nice restoration on this truck.

Another Chip Channel classic! That's one fine little truck, Chip. The ant 🐜 even came to scout it out. Make sure they don't come back later to steal it. Put a couple sheep in the back to watch it for you. But you might need a Llama to keep an eye on the sheep.
Keep up the great work and the fine videos, they make my day.

Hello! Man, if you are restoring old children's toys, you don’t necessarily adhere to the color that was on the toy from the moment of its manufacture, show your imagination and come up with your own color combination for the toy that you are restoring, but it’s not who forces you to give the toys the color that was factory-made, it’s a restoration, and in the restoration you can come up with any color and paint a toy. I wish you good luck and creative success.😉😉😉👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Valoro mucho tu trabajo.

Very surprising that you are able to obtain replacement parts (love the EverReady battery label) for a toy truck that is about 90 years old. Cannot imagine there is a big demand for parts even when a restoration is as excellent as yours. Also surprised your paint test showed no lead. Keep up the good work!

I completely agree! Once of these days I plan on doing an update, where I add the horses to the farm truck, add the ramp and cars to the semi hauler, redo the green and red dump truck. I was thrilled with it when I first did it, however as i've grown better at this, well... i'm not impressed anymore haha.

I have one like this without the lights. The wheels are different. Mine has red, wooden painted wheels with white tires that say Wyandotte Toys in raised letters (three of them, one is smooth). For some reason, my dad or somebody painted the whole thing with light green paint but it was originally red.

I dunno....it's blatantly obvious (to me anyway) that the speedometer was not calibrated during this so-called "restoration ".
Seems like a minor detail to some but that's how reputations are made on TH-cam.
And not to nitpick but the wood block used to bend the tabs was probably pine. That's so 2012.
