    Some beauty setups!! Now for the big question....which chassis do you like better...MTN Reaper or MDT?

      I honestly think it’s a super close one. The Mountain reaper has a better grip, recoil pad, and folds quietly. The MDT has a full length Arca rail, integrated mag release that’s a little more secure, after market grip option and other accessories. If you have an existing 700 action rifle I think the MDT HNT 26 is a top option but for out of the box configuration of a complete rifle the Mountain Reaper is epic. I need to do more testing on both throughout the season before any final perspectives.

    I was thinking about challenging you to shooting at a milk jug at the furthest distance you think you’re capable? Hit or miss first round shot at the end of you’re hunting trip before you go home. It might be something fun to push ourselves while we’re out in the field and prove our equipment.

      @@firebagcoffeecompany-ci8fm I love the idea how about we start with a 600 yard Jug, then 800, then 1000…… but let’s plan it post Dec 10 after hunting season. Email me at ashley@highbc.ca and we will work out the details :)

      There is no doubt in the MDT chassis and fierce rifle quality. Still need to shoot test groups now that the zero is pretty close.

    Nice equipment. It is a 'lot' of dough though for a pound or two of weight difference. There are a lot of old extremely accurate shooters out there built 50 odd years ago(or older) for a quarter the cost.... Throw on an old Leupold and you have a tac driver at about 9 pounds for about 1200 all in...plus a beautiful wood stock.

      There is no doubt that these guns are an investment. I have had some great shooting guns over the years that are a more traditional spotter design. But since I have transitioned to a vertical grip and adjustable cheek rest I personally am a more consistent and accurate shooter which is super important to me.

    I bought a fierce once 300 wm , It was garbage , it didn’t group for shit

      How many different ammo options did you try? There are 5 Fierce rifles in our group and we have been able to shoot below 1 MOA with all of them.

      I hand load , tried a bunch of different powder,primer, bullets combinations , I may have just gotten a dud barrel , I own some custom builds with manners stocks and the fit and finish are pretty pro ! When I got the fierce I also noticed the fit / finish / paint job just seemed slapped together a bit to give a guy a custom look and features at a reasonable price , I took the barreled action out of the stock and the inside was pretty rough , looks like plastic with one quick layer of carbon fibre on top , I was just expecting a little to much from the rifle I think , I’m sure they do the job but after having had a custom carbon fibre build or something like a weatherby carbon build
      In my hand was hard to stick with the fierce

      @@kurtissmith4555 well it definitely sounds like you know your way around guns. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment

      I had that experience with the weatherby backcountry. The thing was complete garbage. Fit and finish was terrible and it didn’t shoot worth a crap. The 6.5wby rpm is the only rifle I’ve ever not been able to load for and gave up. Admittedly I only made 3-4 range trips and on the last trip I would’ve beat that rifle off of a post and ran it over with my truck if my leupold vx5 wasn’t mounted to it.

    he lost me at clips...how can anyone that is giving advice on guns not know the difference between a mag and a clip.....

    • @highbchunting
      @highbchunting  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for watching. I have been using the term clip for 40 years. For the record the HNT 25 Polymer magazine is called MDT clip.
      Can you please explain the difference between a clip and magazine for the hunters on here like me who don’t really know the difference.
