      Have you received a shipment date yet? The system I'm using in this video was a pre-production unit. It does have a few minor issues that were resolved in the production units.

    Thank you! Im excited! I was an original kickstarter backer and have been waiting for 7.5 years for this to come out! (The original ship date was supposed to be September of 2016!). Just got an email saying I’m getting mine this month and was hoping it would be good quality. The vast majority of backers had accepted the fact that we were never going to receive one and got scammed and that had been the consensus for over 5 years.. and then out of the blue we were told we were finally getting them and am SO happy!!!! Cant wait, ordered 2 extra kegs so i can go straight from brewing one keg to the next without waiting to finish drinking one to start the next. Thank you again for putting my apprehensiveness to ease!

      Your feedback is awesome! Thank you for the info. I can tell you I found a very minor issue that has been resolved in the final production which is part of why I got this before you got your final version. (A really good thing.) I always joke that you can make better bear with all grain vs extract, but I can honestly say the Pale Ale kit has proven me dead wrong! It was absolutely amazing in both flavor, aroma, and quality. Keep watching as I have a ton of plans way beyond the iGulu kits that are currently available. This is a very cool piece of equipment that has a ton of features and abilities. (The firmware could use a few very minor updates, and the phone app needs a lot of updates, but in just the past two months of playing with it, I've seen a few nice updates to the app.) The system is very impressive and the quality of the first beer kit was even more amazing! I'll be doing the other two kits very soon.

      @@BitterRealityBrewing awesome! I’m hoping they’ll have the stout kit available when they ship mine. That’s my go to type of beer. But I’m also a huge noob beginner when it comes to home brewing and am greatly looking forward to your non kit videos for the igulu!!! As I’d love to be able to learn how to tweak recipes, add adjuncts and flavors etc. this is very exciting for me and can’t wait to watch more of your igulu content (I’m obviously going to be watching more of your videos but specifically learning how to use this machine in different ways is going to be great!) thanks again and you’ve got yourself a new subscriber and a new loyal viewer!!

      Awesome! Loving the Kickstarter backers as I can tell you as of today, that my unit was a pre-production unit which had a minor issue that has been resolved. Your production unit should be amazing and without the minor issue I saw. The app needs some major updates but it isn't needed to use the system. I was BLOWN AWAY at just how amazing the Pale Ale Kit was, as I never knew an extract could taste that amazing! I personally see so many different uses for this system and have been very excited to test them out. I'll be doing a ton more videos and I hope your system arrives very soon.

      @@BitterRealityBrewing Great information, thanks again! You're probably aware that there will eventually be a companion unit for boiling mash and making wort from grains. I saw in one comment from iGulu they were calling it the B1. Kickstarter backers will also receive that unit when it arrives. I did some homebrewing years ago when commercial microbrews were not so plentiful, and the commercial ones were better enough that I stopped brewing. Really looking forward to getting back into it and glad you will be creating more videos. Two areas of interest to me - more in-depth on sanitation - i.e. I used to soak everything in a big sink full of water with a touch of bleach to get things like the insides of the tubing clean. Second would be any third party recipes or brew kits we could use in addition to those from iGulu. Sounds like we are limited to malt extract at this point, and I used to make 5 gallon batches so would need to rethink recipes for the size of the iGulu fermentation tank.

      @@RowlandArcherWOW! I didn't know about the B1 Equipment that would complement this system perfectly. Beyond the beer kits, you can get from iGulu, I was considering a liquid malt extract kit like this one - amzn.to/3vIT4zV but, I haven't seen the best reviews on BrewDemon kits. Or even a hard seltzer like this one - amzn.to/3U5a3GT . Another option I was considering was a partial mash in a pot and simply pouring it into the iGulu system to use it as a temperature-controlled fermenter and serving vessel. I'll do a cleaning video using 1-step (I'll need to order some) as it will be the most cost-effective and safest solution for iGulu owners. Avoid bleach, as it can leave a residual taste and smell behind. I'm still amazed at how good the Pale Ale was...as it really shocked me. I'm crossing my fingers that all of their kits will be as good as that one. I will keep the videos coming as I have lots of plans for this system. The B1 would simply expand it massively.

    Kickstarter backer #34. Been waiting for this since 2016. I will believe it when I have it in my hands.

      @BitterRealityBrewing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dang!!! #34! That is crazy and I know it was a long time ago. Hopefully you will get it any day and hopefully they will throw in your choice of kits. The Pale Ale is the only one I've brewed so far and my expectations were that of an average extract brew, but it far exceeded my expectations. I was sincerely impressed. So, far the only issue I'm seeing is the beginning of a pour with the O2 vs the CO2 is a little foamy even restricted but it does dissipate quickly. I would expect they could easily fix that in either a firmware update to reduce the final serving pressure from 10 psi, down to around 5 or 6 psi. (Other options would be a different restrictor or longer hose, but I think the firmware would be the best solution.)

      @@1320mm Thank you, and I have a ton planned. Someone just mentioned a B1 add-on system that is planned for the initial Kickstarter folks, which is great news for you. Supposedly, it was mentioned in a comment to Kickstarter supporters that will allow for a mash and boil for all grains. I can't seem to find any info on the Internet about it yet, so it might be something that isn't being released anytime soon. (I'm pretty good at finding disclosure documents for products that are released in the U.S., but didn't find anything related to the B1, only the main F1 system.)

    • @BenSmaby
      @BenSmaby 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The add-on system was mentioned a few times in the Kickstarter updates. They are focused on getting the F1 units delivered to backers first before releasing too much information on the “Brewing Machine / Smart Mashing unit”. I have a blurred out photo of the unit, but they did not want to release the full picture yet as the paten is still pending. We are hoping to hear more about this unit within the next month or two!

    Like to see blind taste test against a brand pale ale. Very interested in the unit. Please do a pro and con vid . Thanks for another informative video!

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The blind tasting is a great suggestion! I wish I could carry the unit to a particular brewery close by without disturbing the yeast cake, but I might get one or both of the brewers to come to my house as they live across the street from me. I will be doing a first impression video very soon, which I consider a "first review" of a product and a final review once I've really put it through a lot more. (I dislike full reviews on products when someone first gets a piece of equipment as they really haven't had the time to test everything and make sure nothing breaks.) So far, the cons seem very minor to me. The only thing that bothers me, but I see an easy firmware fix for, is the initial foaming of the beer. It has a restrictor to reduce foaming, but the pre-set serving pressure is simply a bit high for the short length of travel. If they would update the firmware to either reduce it or, even better, allow you to change it based on the beverage you are serving, that would fix it instantly.

    What a surprise about the comparison with the instant beer and american breweries. Never mix up Armorican beer with German beer. You cant do do it, like many other things of which I dont wanna talk about in these times. Cheers from Bavaria.

    I heard you mention Kombucha. I've really been into those lately. There is a craft Kombucha maker in our little town, and they make outstanding concoctions, and always creative with their flavors. Would really be interested in seeing more about Kombucha making and give it a whirl at home, myself, sometime soon.

      I've got lots of Kombuchas and even Jun Kombuchas planned. I used to make it all the time and it is crazy cheap compared to what the stores sell it for. I really need to start making them soon as the grocery stores are outrageous in price. We have a local Kombucha maker too that makes some very amazing Kombucha.

      @@BitterRealityBrewing Awesome. I'll be on standby for that. I know culturing a scoby is relatively easy, but I also know there just has to be more to it, in order to do it well. Latest one I sampled was a mango jalapeno green tea, and man was it ever good. Not spicy, but the jalapeno came through like nothing I've tried before. I quite enjoyed it. Anyway, cheerio!
      Ps. I'm also curious to see your take on Sahti!!
      Pps. I can dig where your Pops is coming from with the Michelob Ultra. I'm not always down for a heavy hitter, and even been enjoying the Non-alcoholics for sauna lately. Nice n crisp n crunchy.

      I'd reach out to support and ask for an ETA. They have been very responsive to me, by either getting back to me within minutes or worst case, 24 hours later. I would also ask if the color you chose is holding it up if you aren't hard set on the color you chose. I remember reading something about how they do runs on one color at a time and that could be part of the issue for your delay. (Cross my fingers that it the issue, as that would be an easy fix.)

      I'm starting to see "Home Brewing" as getting the coffee beans fresh off the tree and doing everything to them to actually get to brew the coffee. This system is kind of a different approach. More like getting lightly pre-roasted beans and dropping them into a system that can be automated to add a bit more roast, and then brew the coffee for you. It is really cool and is making beer at a level of quality, I would have never imagined but it does fit a different niche.

    I'm just starting out on this, can it be bottled after this process?

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sadly, there isn't a real straight forward way to bottle from the system. I do believe you could, but it would be a matter of figuring out a hose and nozzle type system. I am still trying to figure out a way and if I do, I will be glad to share that in a video. On the other side, a 1 gallon system only makes about 10 - 12 oz bottles worth, so it is a great social product to invite friends over to try your brews. Thank you.

    You should submit it to a comp and see what they score 😂 cheers 🍻

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      If there was a "Hazy Pale Ale" group, it would do rather well. The key with comps from my understanding is to almost always have the abv near the top for the style, and this one is a bit more mild, but is crisp with lots of aroma and flavor.
