Meet Joy, the cutest mini dachshund puppy!
She was a Christmas present to a beloved one... and although I'm all happy and teary, she isn't mine. Yes, my heart breaks a little to say that.
Joy couldn't had been a better choice. She is the first mini dachshund puppy I had contact with, and let me tell you guys, I fell in love with this bread! As you can see in this video she is so loving and loooooooves to snuggle next to a human, (any human, she isn't picky).

It was also my first time getting a puppy from another state, and I was a bit apprehensive. She had a 5 hours flight, and I was terrify that was going to scar her since she was only 2 month old.
But thankfully, as you can see, she was in a great mood as soon as she landed (very generous with kisses).

My little longhaired mini weener is 15 today!
Her name.. Sloopy and still lovely, I love hound dogs, they are all lopy and cool.
What made you pick this 'brand", you picked well, God bless you and Joy.
What a thrill to grow old with my 6week Sloopy, we are both a bit white now!
She still has several years to go, extreme healthy Baton Rouge girl!
She is so pretty it makes me wish my Sadie was a puppy again. I just love the puppy stage even though it's a lot of work, it is so worth it.

I had 3 Dachshunds and two of them had IVDD and required spinal surgery.
My kid, the Pootska got it and had surgery, 2 years later he relapsed and he couldn't be fixed by surgery.
His mom, Abbey got it when she was 3 and is still doing fine after surgery.
Both of these dogs had very long spines.
His dad, Lil' Ricky was 2 inches shorter in length and never had IVDD.
Oh just to note when they bark it's about 89 decibels.
Besides that they are wonderful and loyal little guys.

I have dachshunds since 45 years and I can say that IVDD is a genetic problem, breeding lines with IVDD will always produces dogs with IVDD. It's probably polygenic so it's not possible to develop genetic tests, but I also saw that it has nothing to do with long or short spines, in a line of miniature wirehairs with very short spines IVDD was a catastrophe.

Just rescued an older dachshund and she is a CLOWN !! First doxie I've had and love her. She is intelligent, but bossy !! Knows what she wants and definitly lets you know. Very sweet.

Maria Maria Dantas my current dog is a rescue, I got her when she was 4 years old. She's got scars on her were some other dog attacked her and she was also abused by people. I immediately started working with her and training her, she didn't know any commands she didn't even know how to play with dog toys my other two dogs taught her to play. And they taught her, we go outside to go potty. It takes a lot of patience,and effort to start building trust,but after a year she bonded strongly with me. I was sweeping with the broom one day and she went to go attack it. Whoa.And when I got the flyswatter to chase after a bug she went off again. She remembered what her previous owners did to her, and I was teaching her that I would never do that to her.

i have a red dachshund named Chance :) Dachshunds are my favorite breed of dog to be honest. They pack a punch :D dont judge a book by its cover... More like dont judge a dog by its size :3

I have not been a small dog aficionado, until I was around a Dachshund. I see now why people find them so special. Yes, they are a small dog, but it is the big dog attitude they have that sets them apart. The only thing with them, you need more than one.

My 19yr dachshund went to heaven yesterday... lots if trouble, uselessly lazy, even selfish sometimes..but can't do without. Best dog breed human can have.

In the future never never never let your puppy or any dog ride in a car out of a carry kennel. I know you love you new pup. We also have Dachshunds (wirehaired). I have heard of many people having car crashes with loose dogs in a car the dog gets out and hit by other cars. Please keep them in a kennel for safe travel.

I have two miniature dachshunds myself, one named Merry cause she's just so stinkin' happy. They are the best; loving, cuddly, and hilarious little characters. Even though this is several months old, congrats on your new addition! She's adorable.

Don’t let puppies chew on wrapping paper- they use all sorts of chemicals on them and your puppy could get sick! You aren’t even supposed to burn these papers in your fireplace for the same reason!

Both of my Longhaired Doxies just passed away one exactly three weeks after the other. Still devastated.😥😥 and that was 7/12/19 and my older girl passed on 8/2/19. They were only ten and thirteen. I think my thirteen year old was heartbroken over losing her sister. Dachshunds, Dobermans, Weimaraners and German Shepherds are all German Breeds.

You need to get your baby ramps to get up & down from furniture and items outside. You really want to save it’s back and your pocket book from back surgery. One surgery will cost you $8-10k. You have a beautiful dapple. Hope she brings you lots of joy.

She's beautiful ! Just remember that they are only with is for a short time. We lost our dachshund yesterday . I held him all day and night until the end. I promised him I wouldn't leave him...I can't stop crying. They grow older and get cranky sometimes, but I don't care. I want him back so much! Love her until the end!

We have a miniature almost with same markings and color..Finny or Mr. Handsome as we call him..he’s two and he is the greatest dog ever..absolutely crazy but very loving and loyal and always hangry!
I’m thinking of getting another one, since Joy was a gift to my mother in law. But I cannot find another dachshund with the same coat in Korea. So I’ll probably get a black one. It’s really impossible to get another breed after having a dachshund. It’s the most loving dog I ever had 🥰🥰
Rather than flying puppies across the country to encourage backyard breeding, how about going to your local animal shelter or rescue and adopting? I own 3 purebred tweenie dachshunds and all are rescues. One is cinnamon, one piebald just like this little guy and another black and tan.
I’ve rescued dogs before too. I had a puppy who die from parvo only two weeks after I had him. It was heart breaking, I had depression and just thinking of him now, 7 years later I start to cry. I would definitely adopt a dog again. But Joy was a present to my mother in law, 85 years old. I didn’t want to risk anything bad happened in this situation.
You are an awesome person for adopting and encouraging people to adopte dogs. But just remember that you don’t fully know a person’s reasons for buying a dog.
Totally nice and cute. But don´t be mistaken, this small puppy is not less of work than a big one, only the adventage you can take him with you easily, but this is a big adventage.

@@MariaMariaDantas that is a one beautiful puppy. Im getting my first one within a week❤️but please be aware of the healt risks of double dapple! There is a lot of information out there. These puppies may have various healt issues if both parents are dapple and its unethical breeding
