Originally the treetop village level had a dinosaur (Brachiosaurus?) moving around in the background. It can't be interacted with and disappears further into the level.
This is so neat. The treetop village was one of my favorite parts of this game. I have many happy memories of it from my childhood. Thank you for sharing.
The Turok games, particularly the first one, are massively underrated FPS games. They were SO far ahead of their time - the movement, the lighting and particle effects, the enemy animations, the dinosaurs which actually moved like Hollywood quality dinosaurs (mostly). And the soundtrack was brilliant. One of the greatest ever games, easy.
Unfortunately no. There was a prototype cartridge listed on eBay years back I suspect has the moschops but the person that bought it has yet to show it or dump it.
I know people like to whine about "modernization" but I think they should totally remake the first 3 Turok games in sort of a Metroid style fps. The worst thing about the first two games is all the tedious shit you have to do to progress.
Honestly, for being a dinosaur hunter, there weren't that many dinosaurs in the game. There were raptors, a t-rex boss, and a few dimetrodon enemies (I know, not a dinosaur). Still a good game. Part two is my favorite game for the 64. Bewareoblivionisathand. 😉
Was this prototype uploaded anywhere and where can I learn more about it? Because I do know the source code for the original n64 version was uploaded online a couple years ago. Idk if this build was compiled from that source code.
I uploaded a video showing some of the other differences: th-cam.com/video/LAfrRHK4_Ho/w-d-xo.html If you want to try it you can get it here: www.mediafire.com/file/tvkkztc7fvcuux4
I don't suppose this build of the game is uploaded on the net is it? This is the first time I've seen the cut brachiosaur in action and not just text from a magazine.
Nothing happens, everything goes through it. Even a blast from the fusion cannon does nothing. I probably should've showed that but didn't think to at the time.

The weapons were amazing and were our favorite aspect.
Those Turok's Games Were So Good!! I Don't Know Why They Didn't Continue To Make Them And Release Them.......
They did rerelease them. They've been remastered for PC and consoles. Turok 1,2 and 3. Same games but with slightly updated graphics
@@Redneck_Heronot to mention full new game for PS2 called Turok: Evolution
@@Conradlovesjoy that's right!
@@Conradlovesjoy and the "reboot" which I didn't like all that much
Saber Interactive is making a new Turok game.
My favorite is turok 2
Always wondered why they cut this . Seemed fairly functional
Not enough space on the cart. Apparently they only needed 50kb more to have it in
Can you see the other cut enemies like the killer fish, pterosaurs and the moschops (the brtown big iguana from old promos)?

Any chance this build will become available to download?

Am I the only one annoyed he didn’t shoot at it?
