Great review! And a superb season given the squad strength and depth.
Thanks mate !! Looking forward to this continuing on.
That's been a cracking season one that is something to be a great standing and platform going forward.
Yeah, hopefuylly we can build from here.
Good first season hopefully a few youth players break through next season keep em coming
Yeah, we're going to need some to step up soon, club is going to struggle otherwise haha
Quality episode, perfect end of season review and loved the tactical overview - gave me context for your goalscoring options. So many goals from Callum Davies! Any particular magic on Set Pieces?
Thanks, glad you liked it. Haha, set pieces is classic FM - front post delivery to your best Jumping Reach player who attacks the near post! haha
Great first season! Hope you keep it up and don't get invicted from the job
hahha ! We should be good, they offered me another contract and it was quickly accepted.
Loving the Challenge mate, is there any chance you could do a couple of videos on the skin you use, the squad view set up etc and how to do the kit and face generator? I appreciate this isn't your full time job but the quality is great, I'm sure it would help those of us trying to copy this type of challenge. Keep up the good work mate!
Maybe in the future, I very rarely do explanaation videos as not sure my style suits them, but if there is enough interest then sure I can try something.
Great start! Amazing what you did in this first season. Regarding the tactic, why did you clicked underlaping in both sides? I dont find that those player roles tend to have any over/underlapping positioning, and you can get your midfield empty doing it.
The underlapping role means your wider players hold the ball up for the movement to come from the inside - wether that be from CMs or from the Full backs. So it just means it helps to get more people forward in attack - something which is very useful this year in FM.
Great start! Btw, Brough is pronounced 'Bruff'!
haah cheers. Knowing me, I'll say his name 4 different ways an episode.
73 points is great, good job. 👍
Thanks buddy !
I survived my first season with Gosport at the second attempt, with a win on the penultimate match day of the season. Youth intake of 16 players doubles my squad but lost 2 seniors, including my long thrower. Not sure if tge youngsters will be good enough to help us survive season two, but it's exciting. 😂
Yeah, it a tough challenge. That first season is crucial. Get through that and you've got a good base.
@CulturedLeftFoot Finished 2nd season just above mid-table. Really kicked when I brought a youngster in as striker due to injury. Kid hasn't stopped scoring. It gave me confidence to try a few more too. Winger on the left is great, not even a gold star. About to start season 3 in VNS.
@ lovely mate! Keep it up. 👍
Do you try to start your youth intake players over the current team, or do you just play the best starting XI?
I do, once they know the tactic. I try to start the higher potential players to give them game time - its one of the best ways to increease attributes.
Anyone have any advise for someone wanting to try this for the first time?
Patience and lots of it. Build a tactic all around your best player. And dont be afriad to switch it up :)
What skin is this?
Its the SYC skin!
@ thanks!
