This was originally broadcast on June 7, 1942, during the period when Fred headlined an hour-long "TEXACO STAR THEATER" on CBS' Sunday night schedule [9-10pm(et)]. In the fall of '42, Allen began appearing in a half-hour edition....
Jean had such a beautiful voice ;)
It's a testament to how much I love Jean Arthur that I would subject myself to Fred Allen for her.
Jean Arthur is one of my favorites, too. She was one of the most underrated actresses, even though her movies are pure gold!
Or, subject us to your pearls of wisdom..unfortunately this month has an R in it..just come back in June..GENEious..
she's my favorite. but fred allen is deserving of much more credit than given him . by far.
