    you've sent me right back - I had a bottle of Paris in the 1980s - it lasted me ages - I still remember the feel of the rounded, sculptured glass bottle - nostalgia, nostalgia - thank you

    On the discussion of free vs paid-for patterns, I just want to say as someone who has purchased mulitple patterns from you, I know that regardless of how complex or "simple" the design is, that when I buy a pattern from you, Kay, I am paying for a well-written, clear pattern that will result in a quality item every time (dependent on my own ability, anyway 😂). This reliability and clairty, I feel, has tremendous value. Like Dan says, you pay for what you trust and I trust that I am always getting a good pattern from you that is worth the money.
    Just because a similar pattern is available for free doesn't mean you have to give your time and expertise for free. It is wonderful when designers give us the gift of free patterns, of course but your knowledge and skills have value and no one should expect you to give that away for free! I certainly think it's worth every penny.

    I just wanted to say that the colour way reminds me of a Poinsettia. Maybe that is because we always bought one for my grandmother for her birthday (13-12). I really love this colour way!!❤❤ It looks really festive!!

    The devil is in the detail - I really appreciate the attention to detail that Kay puts in the finishing touches. I love learning new tips and tricks. I also love how Kay shares all her dyeing knowledge she is a genius with colours. Not forgetting Dan, I am in awe at the professionalism of the podcast. Thank you so much xx

    Free vs paid. I say this is your work and you deserve to be paid for your work. You give away to Patreon’s and that is the benefit of being a Patreon.
    I want to support you and am not able at this time to be a Patreon so am happy to pay for your patterns. Thanks greatly. ( I live in Springfield Mn. That is near Walnut Grove where Laura Ingalls Wilder was from.)😊

    Kay, I will always buy your patterns and I have them all apart from two toys, so don't worry too much over it. It's up to the buyers to pick the ones they want and Dan is right in his thought on this.

    Feederbrook Farms is one of my favorite yarns. I made Andrea Mowry’s Shift cowl out of it and absolutely loved working with it & the finished project is awesome.

    I also purchased the fair ground sock pattern, and am willing to purchase another for the modification. Regarding interchangeable needles, i use a silicone pad. The type that some use for jar opening or hot pad. I keep one in my knitting tote. As it also can be used to steady an electronic device. I tend not to print patterns. I download to a device or knit companion app.
    Knitting the year long blanket project has been a lovely knitting journey. And now, I've a nice Christmas gift. Thank you♡
    Thank you

    Thank You, for another lovely video. I do have a humble opinion about putting out patterns & would encourage you to, Pretty Please, put them out! As a woman with my father's thick head & my mother's thick hair, the only reason I started knitting was to recreate the look of a 'shop-bought' hat that would actually fit my head, that didn't look like it came from the men's Big & Tall department. I can't tell you how many hats I've donated to charity because the fit just wasn't quite right for me. Loved the look of them, but my perfect fit was lost in the details. Releasing a pattern that's similar to one that you or anyone else has already put out might just be the exact thing that someone, somewhere was looking for. {{ Hugs! }}

    As always, another fabulous episode, thank you for the entertainment and the company while I sit & knit through my insomnia hours, which I enjoy so much. If i see a pattern I know I'll enjoy creating, I'll gladly pay it. There's so much work involved to get the pattern to the sell stage. The only time I have ever been angry at paying for a pattern was when I found out later that the pattern was plagiarised word for word, just a change logo from a free pattern. When the lady in a sock knitting FB group, announced her new design launch for her very unusual sock, never seen anything like it before, I did notice a few angry face emojis reactions, but no comments. It wasn't till the lady launched another 'unique' pattern a few months later that there were numerous comments

    Paris by ESL is lovely. ❤ I miss wearing Emma by Laura Ashley back in the day - and remember shedding tears when they announced on my car radio that she had passed away. (I’m in California)

    Talk about a blast from the past! When you brought up Paris by YSL, it totally took me back! Back when that first launched in the stores I was a fragrance model and my first job was the Paris launch. I ended up working in fragrance for 10 years and became a representative for YSL for a large portion of that time. Yes, that fragrance brings me immediately back to the 80s. And it was a beautiful scent.

    This is just my experience but I never mind paying for a pattern. I ha ve found some free patterns are not very well written. I don’t feel I can ask the author any questions if it is free.
