- I decided to make this video after seeing a lot of tire stickers fail for people. In this video I go through the crucial steps to applying tire stickers to your tire so they stay. This video ended up kind of long but well worth the watch if you want your expensive tire letters to stay on. This is what I believe to be the best process for tire sticker installation. These are Tredwear.com permanent 1.3" tire stickers. I hope this video is helpful. Thanks for watching!!!

how did you get da dodge strips next to them in green ? did u just put a double " i " ? im looking into getting these soon myself .
I asked tredwear for the dodge stripes in green and they said "no problem". Great customer service

Thanks for the video. I have a couple of questions... Do you think driving the car back to the garage produced more oils on the tires? Why did you use acetone on the wheels after grinding the letters down, could you have used more degreaser? Is sanding the back of the new letters necessary for good adhesion? Only reason I am asking so many questions is because I will be completing an install of these letters on my motorcycle tires and want to make sure I don't screw it up. 😊
T Mart The wash was just to remove any type of debris. Acetone is the only way to remove oil temporarily. The quicker you work after the acetone wipe down the better. Sanding the letters down is not necessary but will give you better results than if you didn’t. 👍

How did you get the green dodge marks in front of your font?
I contacted them and requested that color for those pieces.
After you grounded them did you sand the tires to make the Scuff marks look cleaner??
Austin Gray I didn’t do any sanding. Once the letters go on you really have to look to see anything.

@@amgra232 Oh yeah. I did go over the area were I put the letters just to scuff the tire for better adhesion.
Were did you get the glue adhesive

Nasty 2SS Lol. I was going to have them done at a custom shop but they had issues with them peeling so I decided to take it on myself. If they hold up on the dyno I think I’m good. Haha

You can get them in any color that they offer. You just have to let them know.

Do you think just putting the letters on top of the raised tire lettering WITHOUT grinding them off would look okay?
I'm getting letters the exact de size and font, sooo... Only concerned they might stick up too high.
IMO They won't look as clean and they more than likely will peel a lot sooner.
Tiger paw better or just grinding disc?
I've never tried a tiger paw. I think a grinding disc would be a little more precise though.

Ive been meaning to get some treadware but i see I dont have the tools to do it myself. Im really trying to see how long they actually hold up. Not many people had theirs for too long for the info, even if professionally installed

I used the glue that the letters came with.

My tires are brand new so should i wait till after i mount them on the wheel before i apply the stickers or does it matter? Thanx

Racing slicks have very thin sidewalls to begin with, without adding those gouges with grinder.

I know this is an older video but if anyone wants to know mine have held up for 3 years so far about 8,000 miles. Only issue I've had was I chose red and it faded could prob go over it with a tire paint pen to fix it

Can we still use the products that make the Tires BLACK or WET looking? Will they harm or ruin the white letters or change their color and make them look ugly?
@@JEFFQUICKLE9 You don't want to get it on the tire stickers. I used Q-tips to get the tire shine gel in between the letters.

I recently sold the wheel and tire set. No issues at all. I had around 800 miles on them and not easy miles either. If I put them on my Hellcat I will definitely do updates on them👍

Guys don’t grind your tires lol ... use a sand disc , NOT GRIND disc

Don't know why everybody spends hours and so much scrubbing,cleaning, scrubbing....all I did was power wash,dry,install stickers..all 4 wheels in 1hour 20 min. Here it is 2 years later and no issues!!?

nice car , its not low enough tho. u want a lowered car if u have nice wheels and tyre lettering.. yours looks very stock. would 100% look better a bit lower.

Took me 10-hours too! This is a bitch of a project, but looks great when you're all done. However, be warned--it's also a bitch to maintain tire stickers.
