    This video follows the step-by-step instructions from Custom Tire Letters to install a set of tire letters. They designed the complete set based off the name if the car ( WIDEFOX ), and the logo I have been using for Basin Motorsports. They chose the green and yellow to compliment the Avery Dennison vinyl wrap, and give the tire letters some distinction. Did they knock it out of the park?

      It took longer than I expected, but I tend to overdo things a bit searching for perfection. Cleaning seems to take the longest time of the whole process. Once you determine where to install them on your first tire, the next three go pretty quick. The older the tires are, the more time the cleaning takes. Thanks for watching!

      Ray Grogan Hey ray, that reminds me, about 30 or so years ago, when i was 20yrs old, i had and old, beat up F100. One day i felt like changing the oil. So, i went to the auto part store, then I stopped at the convenient store and picked up a case of Budweiser. It took me all day and into the night. I actually had halogen lights set up. Seriously, you can do it. It's not as daunting as it seems once you try doing it yourself. Doesn't have to be the best job ever, just get a rag, acetone your tires and backs of the letters and tape them on where you think they should go, then just flip the letter set on to the top of the tire and "color inside the lines" with the glue and carefully bring them down to and press 30sec to seat. You can do it.

    Just a question. I did it once with my bike but because the wheels aren't free it was an 8 hours pain in the ass to do it right. Now my new tires are on the way and so are the new set of letters but I wonder if I can prep the tires first and once they are finished have them mounted to the rims. The question is; Is this possible with the letters already on there?

    • @BasinMotorsports
      @BasinMotorsports  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can do the letters before mounting the tires. The shop will need to be careful not to damage the letters. I would put a layer of painters tape or something easy to remove on the letters to prevent any scuffing while the tires are mounted.
      If the shop is just mounting the tires, and you will be putting the wheels back on the bike, I'd do them after the tires are mounted but before the wheels go on the bike.

      For me personally since I have low profile tires as well is just to either sand the entire tire down and then place or, get the sleek size for your title as the letters won’t be too close to the ground if you place them at the edge of the tire above the wheel. I had 1 inch lettering but sanded the tire down and it was fine for a couple years and some were ripping but no issues otherwise. I just recently got new tires same size and I went smaller this time to 0.75. I’m going to install them this week.
