    A really quick work flow. I have tried other peoples workflows and they took me 2 to 3 times longer to get the same results. Thank you for sharing.

    One tip on lens correction. This will try to reduce the vignetting and that can highly increase the noise levels on the edges of the picture. If you use wide aperture lens such as 2,8f or 1,8f the effect will be very noticeable and hard to fix in later editing. So it is better to apply the lens profile after making sure the vignette levels are not big enough.

    The 18-55 lens is very dark. How did you focus the stars? With that settings, i can't see nothing on the live view screen.

      Focus into infinity works most times because of how far away the stars are

      No problems Michael. I especially like, how you take an entry level camera, and show us your process. Very simple and easy to follow.

    New subscriber. Really impressed by your skills! I'd love to see a comparison between Milky Way edits in LR and PS. Also I'm looking at getting a pano head and was wondering what you use? Many thanks.

      +Jules Willoughby I might have to do that (the process) ;) - I'm using a ball head with a arca swiss style plate and a nodal rail - the ball head is on a levelling base. I'm using an L plate. instagram.com/p/BAdHmWWDcPx/?taken-by=astrophotobear

      +Michael Goh (Astrophotobear) awesome! Thank you for the detailed set up. I'd love to get your thoughts on focusing, whether that be infinity or using a flash light to manually focus on the foreground or furthest star. I never find infinity to be quite accurate so I just bring along a powerful torch for foreground. Again I'd love to hear your thoughts.

    what f number and iso to capture the milky way and the stars many thanks,i love this video keep up the amazing work

    • @DrummingSpain
      @DrummingSpain 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      he says at the start: 30 seconds at f3.5 with this budget kit lens. ISO was 3200. However, best to shoot as wide open as your lens will allow and if you can, reduce ISO to 1600

  • @SuperKevin523

    I wonder, how the stars didn't appears as a line? You used a 30 second shutter and that always gives me the line.

      +Kevin Zabala there is some star trailing evident - but it depends how large you blow up the image.

    Thanks for the video. Although I see that you don't have much of a standard workflow to work on these Milky Way images as you're going up and down and back and forth in the settings. I'd check out lonely speck as he has a pretty standard workflow with Milky Way images which helps in maintaining consistency between images. Both of you guys are awesome though so I'm not in any way saying he's better. I just think his processing technique is a lot more straight forward and systematic. You should definitely check his processing video out some time. Thanks for the upload and beautiful image.

      Eüro Nasty --- Whatever, he's just showing the way he does it. You're advertising another channel in his comments which is pretty poor etiquette.
