For me, the infants are only fun with Growing Together. Growing Together adds development with the infants so you help them learn to roll over, hold their heads up, sit up and then stand. Without Growing together, they already know how to do all this
If they removed newborns it would have broken everyone saves. I'm pretty sure they literally could NOT remove them. I think this is an ok compromise. Infants are FAR more detailed (fun IMO) with Growing Together.

Also about the third want, you did mention you never left the lot. That's one of the main reason why you don't get them. The third want is a situation want, so for example if he is dirty he gets the want to clean himself but if you go to a bar, the third want is to buy drink or dance, if you go to the library the third want is to read or browse in the computer
I'm not going to lie, it's so great to see someone enjoy the infants just as the little blobs they are without the extra stuff of Growing Together, as I feel like when I played with an infant for like a day when the update first came, I got soooo disappointed at the lack of stuff you can do with them. I'm so glad you're enjoying them Cindy!
As a family gameplay person, I absolutely love infants! They’re so much fun with growing together! Since I know you like realism, I think you’d like Pandasama’s realistic childbirth mod. They’re currently working on a gender reveal party update right now! I also recommend the realistic relationship mod! It used to be called woohoo wellness and it makes relationships and more realistic! Theres so much added with the mod that it will take alot to describe but I highly recommend it!

I'm so glad you're making more sims content, in way its more exciting to someone react who hasn't played in while. I forget how the game has changed since played you (at least on YT) it feels like fresh air.
I know you probably already want to buy growing together to test the infants with the pack, so this is important, try with a new infant, if you already played with the infant and them buy the pack you're going to lose most of the fun. The pack has a whole baby race where you teach them how to talk, walk, first bath, etc. And since your base game infant already does all of this it will just be blocked for you. So I definitely recommend aging her up to toddler and then have bob and Elisa get another baby to see the things with the pack (I recommend testing the science baby, it's way faster than pregnancy).
With Growing Together, you can change and clean infants with the changing table. There's also milestones. Also be warned, if you decided you want to have a legacy gameplay, milestones tend to reset when you change households. But as usual, this can be overcome with mods. Lumpinou made a mod to prevent milestones from disappearing and it's a lifesaver. Just thought of sharing this little bit of info for you. Welcome back Cindy! 😀
Bob and Eliza are the perfect duo to start a family with. I enjoyed how you played the infant stage. I did this for awhile before I got Growing Together, but I do believe GT has much more CAS and items for infants, not to mention gameplay. It's nice to see some positivity in the Sims 4. They did get a lot wrong, but occasionally they did it right. I think the infants and toddlers are examples of that.
26:18 There is one trait that follows infants. I forget what it’s called, but an infant can be a happy infant, have a neutral infant-hood, or they can grow up badly and the good and bad side of that gives them a trait. I think that trait is base game.
Yes, it's happy infant and they get it if they have the right moodlet when they grow up to toddlers. I think it should have been based on milestones instead. That would make so much more sense to me.

I love how you play the sims. You play nice and slow and pay attention to the details. Some sims content creators love to play on fast speed and speed run the game, and it’s fun but this is more how I like to play. It’s so fun to just watch your sims live life and observe their interactions. Love that your back!! ❤
You can refresh their wants using a potion under the satisfaction rewards. Growing Together definitely makes the infants more fun because it adds quirks (for infants and toddlers) plus the milestones and abilities that follow their development. The quirks help add more distinct personalities and I usually consider them in the future when I’m picking their preferences- for example, “Little Singers” will like singing. I also like to randomize these preferences each birthday and keep a few old preferences as they age. I think that ties in with one of the things you were saying! Great video, glad you had fun with the infants!
one thing i love with infants compared to babies in other sims games is that children and toddlers can play with them. its fun to have sims actually bond with their new siblings
Fun fact, if you have growing together and play on short lifespan it's nearly impossible to teach the kid to sit in the high chair before they age up. So almost none of my infants ever try foods.

Hahaha. I gave up after a 4 baby challenge AND two adults. I am a bit of a perfectionist so when it was 2 days until Toddler Birthdays (long lifespan), I cheated all the milestones with mods. 😂

If you have Growing Together they actually have a lot more to do. Just basegame infants are decent but Growing Together infants are at another level. Also, you can reroll wants by pressing on sleep on a bed and even if you immediately wake up their wants are reset. Amd finally have you checked the most recent sims makeovers. Not gonna spoiled it but they may or may not have made over some premades from the basegame (not referring to the goths)
You can give them a nap in their parents arms if you click the give a nap option on the infant, it’s super cute! Also you can upgrade the crib to add a mobile that plays lullabies but I can’t remember if that’s growing together or base game 😅

My most recent household has two teens, a child, a toddler & two infants while ALSO running a farm with cows chickens and plants and it is a MASSIVE CHALLENGE. Haven’t played them in a while but this made me wanna go back and dive into the chaos :D so happy you’re exploring the sims again :)
Basegame infants aren't the best. Most of the gameplay for infants is locked behind Growing Together, which is a shame. They're much harder to look after with the expansion because they start off not being bake to do things like sit up or crawl
Growing Together definitely adds more to infants and you can get a special trait if you get enough milestones that carries through to adulthood with you
Fears usually are caused by things happening, for instance if there is a fire on the lot they can gain that fear and they then can’t put it out. Fears of crowded spaces is one I have seen too. I don’t have growing together but it does seem like a much nicer system and teaching them more skills. Agree that sims2 is superior in respect of developing a sims character. 😊
If you get Growing together expansion, you will be able to see how the child has grown up, plus the relationship with the parents can change throughout their life stages
FYI there is a changing table! It even slots a trash can so the diaper go into it. Also, you do not need any Handiness to do the crib/table upgrades and once I got a pinched finger moodlet from upgrading the crib.
Great video! Loved watching it! Toddlers can also get you bonus traits when they were infants depending how much you took care of them. I know that in my save file I had an infant and they have had super infant there whole life but idk if it does anything like most traits but who knows I haven’t been paying attention. Anyways can’t wait for next video❤
Cindy, to stomp out their annoying autonomous behaviors (like the tea obsession), I use the MC Tuner module of MC Command Center. You can use it to disable most interactions from being done autonomously. I couldn't play Sims 4 without it!
omg i have to try this with the computer if it's possible lol god forbid i leave my sims to their own devices for literally 0.0001 seconds they run to the computer to troll teh forums
On the one hand, it's manipulative of EA to withhold the majority of baby content in a paid DLC. On the other, I want to see you play with Growing Together because it expands infants and FINALLY adds the type of gameplay you want from The Sims. It's still not as good as sims 2, but it is pretty darn good.
i can’t wait to see your reaction for Growing Together! It added so much needed depth to the game. Also, you need to try all the new infant gameplay that comes with Growing Together! With this EP, you essentially have to teach your infant how to lift their head up, roll over, stand, crawl, etc, by interacting with them and having tummy time. Each of these achievements is accompanied by a Milestone, which is a new feature introduced with this this pack. (similar to Sims 2 memories) And I think that this makes infants so much more chaotic, fun, and challenging in The Sims 4! However, I still think the game needs a LOT to even dare come close to its predecessors. 💀 Even with the addition of Growing Together and everything else that was added during your Sims hiatus. Glad you’re back, though! 🫶 And I can’t wait for the For Rent expansion pack that’s coming Dec 7th! It’s giving Apartment Life 2.0 🥹🥹🥹 I’m excited to see your reaction for that, too!
Please look at the option "to give her a nap". Infants that like to be held will sometimes not sleep well alone, but love having a nap in mamas arms and will just get rest this way. It will get much harder with the expantion pack. ;)

The traits and behaviour things ar quirks in Growing together. Ther also added these to Toddlers. Ther add chalange Plus You need to unlock Infant Interactions now with Mikestones

There's tummy time, fedding time (with many variations of food it's like or not and so more) Maybe could be videos about sims 2 vs 4 features, I love these the most. :) I wonder what do you think about the new pack called for rent? According to sim creators we will able to create appartments, six family could live on a lot, so it's 48 sims in total. I sure it's will be a disaster like wedding stories. I love drama XD
I am currently progressing through family addins. When I waded into the pool of Sims 4 finally (still love Sims 2), I played first round of infants with just base game. I've added parenthood since just to see how it is raising sims kids with just that. Going to play with that for awhile before layering in growing together. But I agree, I would have no fun in sims 4 without a multi-sim household to juggle. Also I think due to the way the game is coded infants were a compromise. They couldn't get rid of newborns (babies) so they just added infants. But it kinda works for me since newborns to infants to toddlers are now distinct stages.
Please try growing together out. I'm begging you. There is a confidence trait if you give attention to your kid/kids, the kid will have a high confidence in themself, it will stay whenever they will be a teen and an adult if I'm correct. There is sooo much with the growing together. You can build a treehouse! Play puzzle, etc.
I love infants!!! Without growing together they are very easy, but with growing together it’s so stressful and so fulfilling when they age up with a good infanthood trait.
RE wants, you can reroll by buying a potion with satisfaction points OR you can just turn wants off and then turn them back on again and that will also refresh them!! (It will also get rid of any fears)
So happy to see you come back, since you've been gone for so long I wonder if you've heard about Life By You, the upcoming life sim by Paradox Techtonic and Rod Humble (from Sims 2 & 3)? If not I really recommend you check it out. They have a youtube channel where they've given constant development updates/behind-the-scenes of the game as well as actually listening to feedback to the point where we've seen actual implementation of our suggestions & they even pushed back the release date to make sure the game was up to snuff. The gameplay looks amazing and is only looking better with each video they release. I really think it'll get you hyped.

One thing not many people know is that changing tables do exist outside of growing together, as they have the animations and everything in the base game just not the object. If you get a base game-compatible cc changing table. I HEAVILY recommend LittleDica's "Little Whiners" base-game changing table.

If u have a sim who is a Carpenter they can make a musical instrument to soothe the infant to sleep on the crib

Cindy, to stomp out their annoying autonomous behaviors (like the tea obsession), I use the MC Tuner module of MC Command Center. You can use it to disable most interactions from being done autonomously. I couldn't play Sims 4 without it!

On the one hand, it's manipulative of EA to withhold the majority of baby content in a paid DLC. On the other, I want to see you play with Growing Together because it expands infants and FINALLY adds the type of gameplay you want from The Sims. It's still not as good as sims 2, but it is pretty darn good.
i can’t wait to see your reaction for Growing Together! It added so much needed depth to the game. Also, you need to try all the new infant gameplay that comes with Growing Together! With this EP, you essentially have to teach your infant how to lift their head up, roll over, stand, crawl, etc, by interacting with them and having tummy time. Each of these achievements is accompanied by a Milestone, which is a new feature introduced with this this pack. (similar to Sims 2 memories) And I think that this makes infants so much more chaotic, fun, and challenging in The Sims 4! However, I still think the game needs a LOT to even dare come close to its predecessors. 💀 Even with the addition of Growing Together and everything else that was added during your Sims hiatus. Glad you’re back, though! 🫶 And I can’t wait for the For Rent expansion pack that’s coming Dec 7th! It’s giving Apartment Life 2.0 🥹🥹🥹 I’m excited to see your reaction for that, too!
I find the 'give infant a nap' interaction really cute, you should try it!
Please look at the option "to give her a nap". Infants that like to be held will sometimes not sleep well alone, but love having a nap in mamas arms and will just get rest this way. It will get much harder with the expantion pack. ;)

Cool to see you back. It's not the full content of infants, you should try it with growing together too. There's tummy time, fedding time (with many variations of food it's like or not and so more) Maybe could be videos about sims 2 vs 4 features, I love these the most. :) I wonder what do you think about the new pack called for rent? According to sim creators we will able to create appartments, six family could live on a lot, so it's 48 sims in total. I sure it's will be a disaster like wedding stories. I love drama XD
I am currently progressing through family addins. When I waded into the pool of Sims 4 finally (still love Sims 2), I played first round of infants with just base game. I've added parenthood since just to see how it is raising sims kids with just that. Going to play with that for awhile before layering in growing together. But I agree, I would have no fun in sims 4 without a multi-sim household to juggle.
Also I think due to the way the game is coded infants were a compromise. They couldn't get rid of newborns (babies) so they just added infants. But it kinda works for me since newborns to infants to toddlers are now distinct stages.

Please try growing together out. I'm begging you. There is a confidence trait if you give attention to your kid/kids, the kid will have a high confidence in themself, it will stay whenever they will be a teen and an adult if I'm correct. There is sooo much with the growing together. You can build a treehouse! Play puzzle, etc.

I love infants!!! Without growing together they are very easy, but with growing together it’s so stressful and so fulfilling when they age up with a good infanthood trait.
RE wants, you can reroll by buying a potion with satisfaction points OR you can just turn wants off and then turn them back on again and that will also refresh them!!
(It will also get rid of any fears)
you can upgrade infant crib with mobile and play music there before bed

With Growing Together you get the ability to do baby showers and earn a new bassinet which is a fun experience.
So happy to see you come back, since you've been gone for so long I wonder if you've heard about Life By You, the upcoming life sim by Paradox Techtonic and Rod Humble (from Sims 2 & 3)? If not I really recommend you check it out. They have a youtube channel where they've given constant development updates/behind-the-scenes of the game as well as actually listening to feedback to the point where we've seen actual implementation of our suggestions & they even pushed back the release date to make sure the game was up to snuff. The gameplay looks amazing and is only looking better with each video they release. I really think it'll get you hyped.

One thing not many people know is that changing tables do exist outside of growing together, as they have the animations and everything in the base game just not the object. If you get a base game-compatible cc changing table. I HEAVILY recommend LittleDica's "Little Whiners" base-game changing table.
