Twin Peaks season 3 episodes 17 & 18 have brought this part of the saga to an end. The Twin Peaks season finale will draw mixed reactions because even though part 17 resolved a lot, part 18 left us wondering about the status of Agent Dale Cooper once again. David Lynch and Mark Frost have been anything but predictable with Twin Peaks the Return, but at the end I think their story is a satisfying one.
Season 3 of Twin Peaks brought Agent Cooper back to the FBI from the Red Room, but not before he took a detour through Dougie Jones' life. Kyle MacLachlan played three versions of Dale Cooper, and maybe a fourth named Richard. His dark side Evil Coop, or Mr. C, met his end in the season 3 finale, and Dougie was re-manufactured to return home to Las Vegas with his wife Janey-E and their child Sonny Jim.
In the town of Twin Peaks Agent Cooper met back up with fellow Blue Rose Task Force members Gordon Cole, Albert Rosenfield, Tammy Preston, and the real Diane Evans. The evil force of nature Bob was taken out by Freddy with a little help from the Giant aka the Fireman. We see Coop take another trip through the Red Room in the Twin Peaks season 3 finale, and eventually he tracks down Laura Palmer.
Twin Peaks the Return was a wonderful ride with plenty of highs and lows. We loved the quirky characters in the original run of a series, and we got a healthy dose of those characters there in the finale. Part 17 wrapped up most of the stories in the town of Twin Peaks, before Part 18 took us away from there again. After a stop in Odessa, Texas, Coop and Laura Palmer go back to the Palmer house, and that's where Twin Peaks the Return ends.
