You are a god. I stumbled upon your videos after making music for 8 - 9 years and you have effectively taught me things I have been looking to do since I started. I really enjoy the sounds/music you make and am so very thankful you chose to teach the world of TH-cam the things you have learned. I worship you, now.
Ive learned more in this 1 video than about the 7 years ive been into Fl Studio. Following along and pausing frequently(cuz ur a damn cheetah at work!) you simplify FM synthesis so well. Awesome stuff man very much apprciated.
oh my god i'm so salty that i'm only finding these videos now and not back in 2013 when i first started getting into FL. *sigh* Consider yourself 1 subscriber richer.
The "MOD" section of an OP controls the overall modulation input. So if I had 2 3 and 4 all modulating one, controlling the "MOD" amount would control all of them. But what's really happening is that the volume of OP 2 is being controlled. That's where change in modulation amount comes from, the volume of the modulating OP.
Hey man. Just wanted to tell you how much of a genious you are. Your explaining is good, you are thorough, you use language that any decently educated homo sapien would understand and to top it all off, you are not a douchebag. :) So thank you Seamless, for being a nice guy. You deserve all the views, likes and subscribers you can get. Peace out And dude, awesome episode ;)
I must say, this fella is my kind of nerd. Some people seem to give him grief for not being absolutely and unfailingly step-by-step but I appreciate that he assumes a certain level of intelligence, resourcefulness and experience in the viewer insofar that if you did not catch a basic adjustment which would take more time to explain the importance of than to do, figure it out elsewhere or by trial and error. I have not gone through all the videos yet, but I would like to see some work with more realistic bass, modulating to create some sick slap bass, creating realistic sounding hammer-ons and pull-offs etc. for those of us who do not have the luxury of recording where it should be applicable, but Ii sincerely value the style of tutelage.
Hi Firstly thanks for the great tutorials. This may sound like a basic question but what exactly are you modifying at 1min12 ? The amount of 2 into 1 ? I am really trying to understand all of your actions so can transfer it over into any FM synth. Thanks
I'm gonna hunt through your other tutorials to see if it's answered elsewhere, but how would I recreate the effect of removing the fundamental and only retaining the higher harmonics using FM8? Is that another operator chain?
A little question: When I try to create an automation clip for modulation Y on sytrus, I have a pattern that goes on my playlist, named "Sytrus - Main - Modulation Y envelope", but I can't modify It like you. I can't scroll the curve up or down. Why ?
I watching these and trying to come up with ways to do this stuff without FLS. I use ableton, NI, and hardware......I'm getting a little less optomistic each one I watch. Will I be going office space on Ableton by the time I get to #8? Or I could just run FLS as Rewired track....but I'm stubborn.
what octave do you use? in my sytrus , (step by step) is c5 so i try octave down and down but dont sound like yours, Did you do any other than on tutorial?? i understand that you have controller but why i dont have the same sound like yours?
Thank you for this awsome tut! "Hollowin producer challenge: DNE(Dehumanized Natural Ego) by Joonism" on beatport! I used it and enter this competition! Please check how it sounds like! Thank you!
I never about modulating the volume before! This is some crazy KTN shit going on!
Dylan Tallchief Dylan! In 7 years you will finally understand sytrus and make a tutorial on it!

So that's how Let's be Friends made that awesome FM in the first part of the drop of Manslaughter VIP Mix. Thanks, Seamless!

These sound awesome!
I might do this :]

I'd guess FRAPS, considering the open FRAPS window on the taskbar :)

Are you going to be on Monstercat?
1. That would fulfill my life.
2. Do a collab. with Tristam (Good melodies + Good bass)
there's a reason massive is called the most powerful synth on earth
Totally :p until you figure out what does what when you want it to do it.
Dude, can u make a tutorial on how to survive in the Sky Block in Minecraft?
when we mess with the matrix do we just randomly mess with the knobs? lol seems to work.
AWESOME and epic! thanks

Would you ever consider skyping a huge fan (me) and helping me with some things in FL?
i think chocolate puma saw this
Might confuse people since they wouldnt be able to see him use keyboard shortcuts.
he modulated 6 by 6 lol
and?
haven't you ever seen Star Wars?
It's nowhere near the most powerful synth on Earth... It's only the easiest to use. I use it all the time but it's not that great.
6 is not modulating 5 its modulating 6 itself DX, oh no you screwed up. Well no ones perfect.
