- This is a guide to optimal installation and fitment of aluminum outer barrels for Airsoft Hi-Capa replicas. Specifically this will guide the best practices for installation of fixed aftermarket outer-barrels for custom hi-capa airsoft guns, in order to get the best accuracy, the least wear, and the longest durability when using airsoft Hi-Capas.
This is applicable to all airsoft hi-capa replicas, including Hi-Capa 5.1, Hi-Capa Gold Match, Hi-Capa 4.3, and full auto Hi-Capa replicas. This video uses all Tokyo Marui spec parts and replicas, but the same techniques can be applied to other Hi-Capa replicas, such as Armorer Works, WE, KJW, Vorsk, etc.

I have to thank you for giving me the idea to file down the locking lugs in the slide. I was also able to make a DIY fixed OB from a stock one by also filing out the "hook" part to be the same as on an aftermarket fixed OB and then using epoxy to fill in the part in front of where the chamber would be. Night and day in accuracy from the unmodified tilting barrel. Cheapest DIY upgrade ever! I don't even need to upgrade anything else haha.

I think adding a ceramic+ptfe coating meant for real steel could do wonders. Coating the rails of the frame, the slide and outer barrel could potentially prevent wear, especially when combined with proper lubricant on top.
I'm guessing I can do these fitment mods on a 1911, right? I've an AW/WE 1911. I saw a different video using epoxy as shim for the chamber and the frame, as well as inside the outer barrel. Your method is less invasive, I will have to try this. Btw is it the o rings that made the outer barrel fixed or are you using a barrel with a grub screw to fix it to the chamber?
Also, are the nozzle and bbh of we/aw 1911 single stack compatible with aftermarket slides meant for tm 5.1 hicapa?

Usually an 8x2mm oring will work, but it depends on specifically what barrel you're using.
Please do a slide figment “blowback nozzle and bucking” can’t get the correct suction on the nozzle

another question with the xtreme we can place any slide or it is a specific slide as we have always said
With the Xtreme you can use any slide, but the cuts on the BBU are specific to full auto setup, and the internals are slightly different, so you need to use specific BBUs.
Where did you get those o rings from? What size are they?😄

can i use the o ring mod if im not using fixed barrel?
Any tips for fitment of steel outer barrels where when the slide cycles it slams agents the outer barrel near the ejection port. Mine makes a metal smacking sound every time I shoot it now and I know it causing a lot of extra wear
The same thing happens on mine. It’s mostly normal wear but sometimes an aftermarket nozzle can help. I also suggest filing down/totally removing the locking lugs on the slide.
how is yours going? I have a KJW slide fit to am steel barrel almost perfectly. but of course the locking lugs grid on the barrel hood. Since its aluminum on steel the lugs wears down to fit the barrel over time.

the original TM design should have just used a simple blowback mechanism. a fixed inner barrel with a cosmetic tilting sleeve is form over function, or people actually prefer form over function?

The black steel one there is a 5KU. Very cheap but also very bad tolerances and may require fitment to work.

ok im a newbe to this stuff. i have a tm goldmatch and im trying to fit a masterpiece threaded outerbarrel but there is absolutely no way of it even comming close to fit.. is it a me problem or a fitting problem

@@GaosenKinetics AIRSOFT MASTERPIECE STEEL THREADED OUTERBARREL 5.1 (copied from website of battleflair where i got it) it litteraly doesnt fit in any way not in the gm slide and not together with the hopunit in the frame without the slide. It fits the hopup unit but thats about it..
One question thou, why did it full auto?
This was built on a TM Xtreme 4.3 full auto hi-capa, so that I can give it more of a stress test than a normal hi-capa.

From ALL the gas leaking at the end of the video you clearly see you have not a proper seal between the hop up unit and the nozzle
this is the reason why you need some play, it is NOT the slide that place the nozzle to the chamber but it is the Barrel itself first then the slide push Both the nozzle and the Hop up unit already sealed, into place.
About the Slide locking I agree it is just replica from the real 1911.
