From wha I read on twitter its Kim and Kamol's version of a wedding since same sex marriage is not yet legal or recognized in Thailand.

I thought Danil helped Kim because we've established that the 2 things he cares about are Kamol and their mob business. He rightly assumed Kim's kidnappers were mob rivals, so they automatically were the bigger enemy that he needed to fight against.
Kim has his own priorities and logic he needed no mobile phone but he didn't forget the handcuffs😉
I do not think Kim was being dramatic at the start. He has overreacted for much less and this time Kamol was acting a whole fool. So this reaction was reasonable.
Feel like Danil was trying to stop the kidnapping because if anything happens to Kim, Kamol hates him forever and Evan will come down on him hard. On the other had, if Kim walks away on his own, that is not Danilo’s fault. But then, it might just be instinct to fight too.
I swear Baiboon went to meet the parents just for the screen time. Lol.
Anyhow, thank you Topher. Your commentary for this whole series was brilliant. Ima miss the exclamations of “drugged tiger” and,”Oh! there’s Boy!”

If this was Indian instead of Thai , I would think it was celebrating a “Rokha” (which means ‘stop’ because the individuals have found the person they wish to marry and so they will no longer look elsewhere), basically Kamol went to Kim’s parents and got permission to “marry” him. The parent’s have accepted Kamol as their son-in-law. Ceremonies to formalizing the relationship would come later. I took it as everyone in the house is celebrating the fact, that with the parents permission, they are officially a couple, remember in Asia parent/family acknowledgement has heavy weight. For many, until the families’ acceptance and stamp of approval, the couple is in limbo. Granted that is changing in some areas, but having that stamp allows the couple to breathe easier. I am an American married to an Indian, I was lucky my in-laws accepted. I have friends who either had to break with their lover or their parents. Granted most of the parents came around once time passed, but you can never underestimate the importance of the parental acceptance in Asian marriages. If they were treating the lunch as the official request then Kim was needed to be there as he represented Kamol’s family’s acceptance of Kamol’s choice in life partner. I don’t know if Thai culture has a similar ceremony.
The thing that was major was Kamol's age being revealed as since he has a baby face no one would believe that he is in fact 36 years of age. And that they have an eleven year age gap as Kim is 25 years of age.

I assumed the party was congratulations to Kamal for retiring. And then also somewhat for Kim for his parents being accepting of the relationship. But that was just my guess.

Yay you made it through this hilarious journey. I don't think it's a marriage just a celebration of him leaving the mob, getting accepted and them all being alive and well. At least that's what I thought.
I am confused by your confusion! I thought it was fairly obvious, that it was an engament party of sorts after Kamol got the blessing from Kim's dad. Technically here wasn't real engagement, because there's not legad marriage to have - but they exhanged the rings in private.
I had not foreseen any set of circumstances that could result in me finishing this series. Turns out that I needed Topher's banter, some drink and the occasional use of 1.5x speed.
I was surprised to run out of spirits before 20 minutes of this episode had passed. It truly was one thing after another in part 1. 😆
I think because marriage equality is not legal yet, they treat engagement and wedding ceremonies in a very similar way because when you think about it engagement is as far as the relationship can go in their country

So, Taiwan is still the only place in Asia same-sex couples can legally get married, so there would not be an official anything. Kind of makes me wonder what sort of excuse Kamol used to get Kim to put on the suit, and what Kim thought the suit was for… (Cuz that suit just screams marriage to me). I am assuming that when Kamol said, “So about our marriage…” he was asking if Kim wanted to have a ceremony. But we have not really seen any sort of forever conversation.
For the party, the bodyguards wanted to throw it to celebrate… presumably their coupledom? But it seems weird to say congratulations when they have been together for months and nothing else has really changed.
But Asia is the capital of plotholes, so whatever.
