19:15 does the Triari not also get a -2 because it is being attacked from behind (by a different unit)? As i understand the rules, possibly incorrectly, the flanking/rear penalties apply to the target regardless of which unit is actually making the attack.

Hi Stephan. In the Phalanx vs the Triarii combat the penalites
for Triarii's defense and Morale are -2 (1 for being flanked and
the other one for being an ally of the Phalanx also in combat)
When being attacked by the rearguard by the other unit it will
have a -3 (2 for the rearguard and 1 for the ally in combat)

Are mercenaries there own faction or can at least be played as there own faction in a 1v1v1game

Why does the carthagnian roll four dice, and not two?

In close combat both combatants roll the same number of dice. The sections in contact are counted, which in this case are 4.

21:28 does "half" refer to the army's current point value or unit/card count?

Hi Stephan.
The Leadership check has to be done taking into account the total army's value at the start. So, if it was 1000 points,
when the value of the remaining non fleeing and non eliminated units is less than 500
