    Most guitar tutorials unfortunately first spend fifteen minutes to explain how to place the fingers for each chord and the right hand is just ignored (like a book, just slower). You´re the big exception, much fun and immediate learning effects. You also animate people to invent their own solos and tell them how, which is very usefull if you try it out. This channel is for really FAST learning!

    10/23/19. Good lesson, Ryan. You got 5 dislikes because Johnny Ramone was known to downstroke every chord, which you didn’t do or emphasize, but you still sounded great and sounded like the song. Take care, Ryan.

    I think after last chorus there’s a slight variation to the verse chord progression: in stead of hanging on to G (and then A) after third time, it’s four times that B F# G E with ending on B. I hope you got what I meant here. This is how we play it in band sessions

    I'm might be wrong but isn't there another minor scale that's just like the penatonic minor scale you just taught? But using a flattened 5th. If you are playing in the key if B that is. Which would be the A string on the 8th fret then the D string. On the 10th fret. The F note? I also have another question if you don't mind. Is extending your scales where you just go two steps up on the neck from the last note you played. On whatever scale or key your playing in , and just play the same patterns?

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      whoa whoa my head is spinning hehe. Yes that's where B's flat 5th is on the A string, but on the 10th fret it's the G string (octaves are two frets higher two strings higher). Truly, there's no such thing as a WRONG note, so long as you really mean to play it. A Flat 5 has a very creepy dark sound to it which is a fun addition to a solo. As for the second question, if you go two frets higher you have to change your shape to acheive the same scale... for instance if you're using the 'minor pentatoic' scale you'd go up three frets and use the relative major pentatonic, or minor pentatonic position #2. If you go up two frets and use the same shape you may find some things you like, but you won't be playing the same scale. I think that was a little helpful and left more questions than answers :)

    Johnny Ramone didn't use power chords; she played full Barre chords.

    Johnny would have beatin you senseless, if he saw you ruin his song like this. The RAMONES (Johnny) never used this strumming pattern. He always used ALL down strokes.

  • @fred64000
    @fred64000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Only downstrokes!!!!!!

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you go right on ahead, but only downstrokes makes my teeth hurt, even if it is correct...

  • @RichMaza
    @RichMaza ปีที่แล้ว

    Not only are you COMEPLETELY incorrect about the strumming, (Must be ALL Downstrokes), but the single notes in the chorus are incorrect. 2nd part goes to 5th fret, not repetitive like you play it. so (E) 3>2>3>5. Go listen to the actual RAMONES album! If you are going to teach something to thousands of people, teach it right! And where is the solo?

  • @RichMaza
    @RichMaza ปีที่แล้ว

    RAMONES is all Downstrokes. Don't teach it wrong. Good job otherwise.

      @@marcussullens2573 Not for Ramones playing style. Obviously you can play it either way but that's not how they actually played it.
