One of my favorite themes in this game. I could never get tired of getting into a battle. I remember getting this game for the first time after experience FFVII thinking how much better it looked. People didn't like this game as much for mulitiple reasons but there's no denying how great the soundtrack is. Waiting for "Force Your Way" to be uploaded, which might be my all time favorite in FFVIII.
You know, considering that this tune is called Don't Be Afraid, at 1:24 the video starts showing us a surprising number of VERY GOOD REASONS TO BE AFRAID.
Of all the Final Fantasy Games, FF8 has my favorite incarnation of the Scan Spell. I especially have mad respect for that spell on it totally calling out Squall on how cold he is. :P

I don't care what people say about FF8: It was what got into the Final Fantasy series. Squall maybe edgy, but he represents a teenager trying to come to terms with leadership and friendship. Also Gunblades are cool.
I doubt the characters are the reason why people are divided on the series. For me, it's the plot...and the grinding aka Drawing. I see Tales of Zestiria took a cue from this game.
Ah FF8. You redundantly mechanical mess, Still had a fantastic soundtrack and that alone makes you a fond memory... Junctioning and Drawing is just broken though.

私にとっての初FFは8でした。今のFF7Rも感動するけど、FFの戦闘曲というと私はこれ。今もふとしたときに頭の中に流れてくるのはこれです。

When you hear this theme for the first time after 10 years, you get an unimaginable goosebumps.
