These picks will help you get the most out of the game as a solo player, and greatly boost your odds of survival while still being able to get kills. Great video as always . Achillobator is good solo until you get jumped by 7 pachys or other Achillos. Sucho is great solo but I get nervous if I’m too deep inland or away from water.
Anything gets a little sketchy in a 1v7 (except for ano maybe lol), understandable! Achillo is my top choice in those fights though, really good chance of surviving just based off the great stamina pool
@@KhanwareI would have put sarco there as you can grab stuff and instantly get away from people too and usually ur playing solo w sarco
@@aCrocodileMan I considered sarco, but it runs into the same issue that things like dasp do too. It always just loses to 2 sarcos. Doesn’t have survivability vs semi aquatic packs. Sucho and deinocheirus are much better in that role because they also can effectively use land when needed. Not that sarco is bad, just not top 5 solos imo
Sucho has same stam as allo and dasp just a tad but slower then a allo. Sucho can easily be a pure land fighter as it's bassically a better allo, yes allo has bleed but that doesn't matter when a Sucho claws u to death in 10 seconds
Thanks for the video! Would love a pycno or achillo guide if others are interested. I mostly play community servers but I feel like this all still applies, and both have been good for me trying to get started learning PVP since they are relatively survivable. Also fast to quest with for the inevitable regrows.
Yes, definitely applicable to modded as well! Just wanted to focus on officials solo players because I often see a lot of frustration from solos there :)

Can you talk about a huge problem with the tail hitbox its kinds stupid that getting bit in the tail takes the same dmg as ive you were getting attack in the torso
I believe it’s mostly to do with desync/server lag, but I’m not sure. It certainly is annoying though. I’ve also seen the inverse issue where you attempt to bone break something with dasp, and it just counts as tail and doesn’t apply even if you hit the torso

If Alio hadn’t got such a big nerf it would easily be 1 of the best solo playables: Despite its low heath the 3000 combat weight and lone survivor made up for it and you can outrun anything you can’t kill. Now it’s just a glorified baby hunter 😅 oh how the good have fallen. It’s still a good survival Dino just not a good solo pvp playable
Alio used to be soo good. Old metri too. Old kentro, old alio, and old metri would’ve easily been on this list
@@KhanwareI realized I didn’t put lone survivor lol But anyways yeah while it still has a niche with ambush and hunting Raptors and Thals. Killing raptors has always been Alios specialty so we’re not exactly breaking new grounds here
@@K-popQueenSoo-Ah It used to be one of the best apex killers too, but it's definitely still good against raptors like you said, although a little less so now with the changes to the slick hides

What subspecies would you recommend for each of these picks?
For pycno, 10% stamina recovery (really helps with walking regen as well), for cerato, also 10% stamina recovery, for sucho, 10% swim speed is insane if you're playing near water, other option is also 10% stamina recovery (my current subspecies), for ano, 5% armor, and for achillo, +50% acceleration speed (10% faster health regen is also okay but not as good imo). stego is pretty good as well. the only thing is the dasp bone break, stam, and the health unless you run health i run attack personally . it can run away from apex and beat up the smaller stuff until they back off, it is kinda harder to use at first though. the ano can stil die because many packs will starve you they won’t let you log out
Yeah stego isn't bad, just not a top 5 solos pick imo. You'll always die to a larger pack with mid tiers. A few achillos can take down a lone steg with pounces if they play right
@@Khanware i agree but you also have to consider that everyone will counter you so regardless you’re dead especially the longer you keep fighting. i don’t always get away but when i run away the smaller stuff gets cocky and they retreat after a while which gives me a chance to run, then again i main stego
Well that’s why I made this list. If people swap to “counter”, you still win. Nothing really hard counters these dinos except more of them, and you always have escapability on your side if you need it. If you overextend you can die, but I’ve done many fights on all these picks where people swap after dying and I make it out just fine
@@Khanware what’s funny is i fought a sucho cera ano and achillo i meat balled 3 and killed the achillo but yeah stego is not the best when it comes to getting away unless they somehow add a passive solar powered in the future it would turn the tables
Yeah steg should really have passive solar or something like that to help it out, it needs a little edge imo
I would argue a spot for Pachy. That jump is ridiculously useful for scoring crazy hits in combat and avoiding combat all together.
Pachy isn't included because imo it's on the small playables list with struth, campto, the raptors, etc, that I did not include for this list. Pachy is never really a threat and isn't an effective killer. It does have fantastic escapability, but so do all other small dinos
Speed Dasp definitely should be on here
I heavily considered dasp, but decided against it because it's really not the best solo. It excels in duos or groups and is extremely strong there for sure. Problem with dasp is it lacks escapability. In a solo scenario, it will most likely lose a pair of many things in the game, most notably another pair of dasps. Everything on this list outperforms a solo dasp when fighting against groups in terms of survivability

It's not about dinos on official, it's all about the discord gang you have with you.
What do you mean? This guide is specifically for solos to do well on official. Of course discord packs will always have the advantage, but I play solos or duoes quite frequently and am able to pick apart larger groups with these picks

Technically they can outrun a sucho, they're faster. First one just let me tail ride, not the best decision lol. Allo still needs some tlc badly though!

@@ghost_ilamas9615 It can circle pretty fast and tight at walk speed, tricky but can be done well to mitigate openings. I would love a second claw slot or another type of claw attack/bite. I'd take any type of allo tlc though
I mean yeah, if this game wasn't toxic as hell and people didn't just bait and switch all the time I'm sure these would be great picks. But it doesn't matter what you choose, people will just hold you in place or follow you around until all their buddies join their server and murder you regardless.
Yes and no. People do swap all the time, and people mega pack all the time, but you can out do all of them - that’s why I put this list together. I get many kills off of mega packs with these picks playing solo or with a duo. The other night when I was on Achillo shooting footage for my next video, I walked away from a battle against a mega pack with 7 kills, playing as a solo. Never died the whole session

The Sarco is definitively the Best for solo player :
- only 2 predator (spino and other sarco)
- can kill almost all dino close to water
- Eat fish and meet doesnt need drink when in water
So SARCO n°1 😎
Sarco is good, but not top 5 imo. It doesn’t have escapability it needs and ability to fend off multiple things at once. It loses to 2 other sarcos, spinos, ducks, suchos, etc. Too many threats from larger packs to make a top 5 solo Dino imo. Not that sarco is bad, it’s got crazy damage, just not top 5 solos
Allo is good too nota top five but allo is good becuse he can cause a Lost of bleading
Iguanodon would have been on this list 100% before the nerf. That’s so sad man I might cry.
Iggy was definitely a good pick before nerfs, but better in small groups than solos I'd argue (like dasp)
@@Khanware I would disagree iggy had so many tools and options back when it was good. Could face tank an allo from the front and destroy one of it attacked you from behind. It could also outrun everything it couldn’t kill.

@@Khanware it also could be a skill thing. I was a solo iggy player for a long time with over 87 trophys in my homecave lol. I’m decent and I think that’s w when iggy becomes a real threat.

How is allo solo now? Seems like a Dino I didn’t see many play solo before but I’m seeing it more after the bleed buff, I’ve never grown one myself but I think it will be my next just because I like allo.
It's meh, honestly the buffs didn't help it too much sadly. It does good bleed but hatchet bite getting buffed didn't do anything for it because if you run it, you don't have any attacks that can deal actual damage. Allo definitely needs 2 head slots. It can definitely get kills on other mid tiers, but it can easily lose to dasp, sucho, and apexes if it's not careful

💯 I agree with this list. Achillo is really fun to play and I love all the other 4 you recommended. I’m glad pycno got a little hp buff. I’m trying to get used to its new charge changes. Sucho is still my main and fav, and my Ano is just a juvi so I just be cute for the moment 🤣, Dino’s with only single tail attacks for me are too basic to play, I like more variety. Cheers.
Yeah ano gameplay is basically just time out your bone breaks and then mash mash mash, but it’s really good if you’re solo and want to survive 😂 Playing the other 4 picks are a lot of fun though, high skill ceilings!

Personally, I think Iggy is the best solo dino out there
Everything in your weight class you can either run away from or beat up
And in case it get's to hot, you can escape through bodys of water thanks to it's swimm speed
Gottaa agree that Allo needs a big buff desperatly
You litteraly dont stand a chance as an Allo against a Sucho
You cant even run away from it.....
Did you see the iggy nerfs last patch? Iggy is in a terrible place right now. Previously, it was good, but with -1000 combat weight and -100 health, it easily loses to dasp, allo, sucho, etc. Small mid tiers have an even easier time with it now as well. It definitely needs its tlc (and so does allo lol)

Anything that does bb is something you should stay away from as an Iggy
The amount of health I lost with one charged bb bite from 1 Dasp was nuts
They completly over done it with buffing Dasp
But usually like I said you can run away from them
But also only with speed Iggy
Defense Iggy is useless right now
@@jonaswerner8480 yeah poor iggy needs some love, but even with speed iggy, a speed dasp still catches you. Iggy’s base speed is 1000, dasps is 1050. Speed dasp with bone break is only about 8 points slower than base iggy speed iirc, (negligible difference). Allo also shares iggy’s base speed, so allo will always maintain/catch an iggy. So still really scary meta for iggy currently!

Bars is a bit below average unfortunately. It does okay damage, but can't hold it's own against anything around its weight class. It also struggles against mid tiers and pouncers because its only good source of damage is its tail. Hopefully the tlc will give it some more viable options

You do you! People still play bars, and bars can be good in certain scenarios (like a sarco discourager cause you can tail slam out into the water so far). It’s overdue for some new abilities, I hope it’ll get them soon!

the five you chose all are starter dino’s because the skill floor is really low meaning anyone can be good at them. especially with abilities like claw barrage and raptor strikes
Escapability is great for starting out, but I disagree with you. Ano has a low skill floor yes, but if you play the rest of them poorly, you’ll lose really fast. All of these dinos (including ano) have a high skill ceiling if you want to actually play them well. Sucho, achillo, and cerato have insanely high skill ceilings. Just because something is good doesn’t mean it’s a “beginner” dino. I would consider “beginner” Dinos to be things like campto, Struth, laten, etc. Something you cannot be caught on and can stay out of fights with

I belive kentro steals being a good solo.
I played a ton of kentro pre nerf and it was fantastic, easily #1 pre nerf. Now, it sucks. Turning radius ruined it. You still have ok survivability on it, but killing things fast/constantly became so much harder. Not a top 5 for solos anymore imo
Why the carno is called pycno?
Alderon (the devs) don’t have 100% realistic models, and some of the subspecies also look like slightly different Dinos (one rex subspecies looks like Tarbosaurus for example)
Notes for Ano. This thing is just insane when you get good with it. Ano is one of those dinos that's easy to learn and hard to master, but man once you do it is one of the most fun dinos out there if the playstyle suits you. You have a surprising amount of flexibility with it since you're able to go pretty much anywhere and not have to worry as long as you avoid water. Ano can also get out of fights it doesn't want to be in, just hunker and bonebreak then skedaddle. But if you do want to fight, avoid bonebreaking when hunkered and just slam. I see SO MANY people try to bonebreak something thats just gonna sit there and still wail on them or something small and fast keeps darting around. The tail hurts and if ya just keep swinging (thing has a 1.5 second cooldown iirc) small things just cant win. They will almost always take a hit from you before they even hit you or right after they hit you. For big dinos (like 4 or 5 slots) it depends. If its one, hunker for a bit then bonebreak and run circles around it. Ano outranges all other dinos doing this and can kill apexes just fine, just make sure you are watching your stamina and hunker for a bit if it gets low (with the build in the video you get .92 stam back per second which is just nuts). If its a group just hunker or run away. Ano out stams every apex, regens faster than them, and can bonebreak and run pretty well. Its tanky enough even without hunker to survive quite a few bites and still be kicking afterwards, so don't be afraid to get out of a bad situation when solo. The most important thing though is always topping up on food and water. If that bar gets to 75% consider going to fill it up, and at 50% start finding food and water. This will save you a surprising amount of times just because Ano starves so quickly (30 minutes even WITH Herbivore) and people will take advantage of that.

Have you tried playing sucho? It’s really fast for its size. It’s base speed is only 50 lower than things like allo, hatz, lamb, and iggy, and only 100 slower than things like achillo, Pachy, dasp, laten, cerato, and kentro, so if ANY of these Dinos are running things that slow them down (defense builds, bone break for dasp, etc) you will catch them. Also, because your speed is just a little slower than so many small dinos, if your movement is good, you can usually make up the difference by cutting a corner somewhere and catch up. The allos in this video were faster than me and I had 0 issue catching and maintaining claw barrage behind them as they ran
@@Khanware What i mean is Sucho can be good but only if the opponent want to fight to the death, almost everything can escape if loose the fight except def allo.

Builds and analysis weren't the point of the video... nvgunn makes build guides. This is a top 5 dino list for solo players. I also specifically mentioned I wouldn't be going into detail on the builds in this video as it serves as an overview, otherwise this video would've been 40 mins long. I'm also sure his builds are different than mine, I made this guide/recommendations list for solos...
