what was the symptom that led to the diagnosis of fuel pump replacement? I mean what was the behavior of the car? prompt response will highly be appreciated. thanks

Ese Sosa car will not start, turns over but will not start. Check your fuel pressure see my other video on how to do that, that will tell you if you need a pump or something else.

You may notice longer cranking, lower power under high loads or driving up road, misfire if extremely bad. Usually a diagnosis should be used to ascertain, i.e. read any fault codes, check the fuel pressure and confirm around 40psi. Clean your fuel tank, if your pump is not so old, you can service it, yes, I will make a video of that, change the fuel filter. The codes for fuel system weakness are things like "System too lean..." although these codes may also point to vacuum and leak problems and sometimes maf errors. Thats why checking fuel pressure is crucial in determining fuel related problem sources

@@joesnowmobiles Yeah fuel pressures should be 60 PSI if less then the fuel pump is failing or failed. Just get a fuel pressure tester and there's a schrader valve on the fuel rail on top of the engine

Also if pump is fine but Fuel Filter blocked / failing you'll have slow to crank, and fuel pressure gauge (connect to fuel rail port) will probably show fluctuations as you crank engine, and also when revving engine.
Test: install Fuel Pressure gauge, key on (don't crank) pressure should go to 53-60 psi instantly.
Crank, should dip slightly to 40 psi or above & immediately sit at 53-60 psi @ idle with little or no fluctuating when reved up.

just fyi I got e bay 40 dollar pump too , and lasted about a month. just buy genuine pump , you ll thank yourself later , trust me ,those china pumps are not worth it when your car dies on a freeway , and you have to do same job twice.

Eldin Dukic, so sorry to hear that happened to you. Sometimes with auto parts its hit or miss, I've used lots of aftermarket parts and sometime I go with the OEM it all depends on how hard the job is to do. If I feel its extremely difficult to do I usually go with the OEM part in hopes that it doesnt fail. I guess the fuel pump job isn't one of those extremely hard jobs to me, so I'm willing to go the cheap route. I totally understand your point though. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

1000% agree. Its better to even buy just the electric fuel pump and replace in original unit, not so difficult
