I never thought much of it and ordered a G-flat, keeping the G crook in the case. After watching your previous videos, I've decided to give it a try. What a difference it makes! Ideally there would be some form of tuning slide where there is plenty of room for G and Gb tuning; you'd just pull the slide out a good ways for Gb. Beautiful job on the Bach, by the way.

I play on a Greenhoe Bach (at it's version of Mecca right now). I would like to have this G system to toy around with, perhaps different tuning slides to go back and forth. It's incredible how your top space G with the valve sounds just like 4th position. Wow! Thanks again!
HaHa my second hand c valve trombone is like a piper club to your jet. Compared to THAT horn you have ! THAT horn is too complicated for my mind...lol ! Great TONE That is what is important to me the TONE !
DevL HeatScopE the courtois is definitely a great horn, but it all comes down to personal preference so I would reccomend testing out a bunch of different horns
Great video! I have the question: is it the Bass Trombone, right? Do you know, have we now the Tenor Trombones with this system (Bb/F/G; Bb/F/Gb...) or this system is on Bass Trombones only? Problem B1-natural on Tenor Trombones is resolved or no yet? Thank you!
Tenor trombones really only have one valve, if any. To play a B1 on a tenor, you would either have to go to 7th and lip it down, or pull out your F attachment (assuming you have one) to E. I really wouldn't consider this to be a problem with tenor trombones, mostly because tenor trombones hardly ever have to play down there, and when the time comes, most professionals can play the low B pretty well.
He can play the bone like a champion of the world! And his eyeballs can swivel like Action Man. He can do it all!

Nice. You're making me contemplate changing my second valve! Of course, there are days where I'd prefer to have only one valve (or no valves, even!).

what company is your trombone from ?
Matthew Collier, I believe that Dr. Pollard plays on a Antoine Courtios (AC550BH Legend series) bass trombone, with Rene Hagmann valves.

That's a Besson BE-943. I knew a guy who had that exact same horn with the second valve tuned in g.
