Only a few days!!!🤣 I like the little trout spoons you were using, I love the Mepps spinners, but, the line twist is a killer. Do the little spoons cause much of an issue please?
Cheers! For ultralight/LRF most anglers tend to go for 1000 size. It is personal preference though, I actually really like fishing with the Shimano Soare BB C2000 PGSS reels (I have 3 of them 😅) as they are 1000 sized reel but have a 2000 sized spool, best of both worlds imo 🙂
@@DevonLerfer thanks! Just re-read Ben Bassett's awesome article and still can't decide whether to stick with my 3lb fluorocarbon or give the ester lines a try for ul/xul fresh water duties...what's your experience concerning break-offs?
@@gostagos6143 it took me a little while to get my head around using ester line but I think it's a game changer when fishing super light, I don't like it anything over about 2lb b/s though. I find you just need to think about what you're doing a little more, but worth the extra little bit of effort in my opinion 🙂
Glad you still getting the 502 out & good to see another Trout video 👍🏻
Yeah still love the 502, first pick for ultralight freshwater work 🙂 cheers mate 👍🎣
Went there yesterday bloody freezing and wind was cutting. Managed a few between a mate and I. 😊.
Pretty exposed up there isn't it 😅 glad you found a few fish though! 👍🎣
Now that's proper fishing! Beautiful wild fish in a beautiful wild place! PERFECT 🤗🎣👍
Cheers mate, yeah it's stunning up there are those brownies are little beauties, worth the long walk up there! 🙂🎣
Great video Rich, those wild brownies are beautiful 👏
Cheers Steve, stunning aren't they 🙂🎣
Enjoyed that mate. Nice to see a different angle of the soggy session.
Cheers mate, was a good day, despite the weather 😅🎣
Looks like the Avon Dam. A fair old trek.
Well worth the walk though! 🙂🎣
Definitely 👍🏻
Cracking video, nice to have some of variety of coarse, game and sea, although the weather looked brutal!
Thanks mate, I've enjoyed mixing it up a bit lately. Yeah that weather was quite an experience, took me a few days to dry out after that 😂

Great session Rich. They certainly liked those spoons. Have you ever tried Venford, less of a trek and holds some nice fish 👍
Cheers mate, yeah they loved em! I haven't tried Venford, but I will check it out, thanks for the tip! 🙂🎣
Nice video rich 🎣
Cheers mate 🙂🎣
Lovely markings on those brownies.
What was the metal you were using?
Yeah they're little beauties up there. I was using Crazy Fish Soar spoons mate
beautiful fish. for a 7ft 1 10g rod would a 1000 or 2000 size shimano be best?

Hi. Did you swap out the hooks on the trout spoons for barbless ones? If so which hooks would you recommend? Thanks.
Hi, I did swap the hooks out, they're not barbless though. I used Decoy Single 32 Finesse singles 🎣
Nice Devon! 🔥🤘🎣
