Great review Tim! I am still really enjoying this figure, even with his minor flaws. Not only is he a finish the 96, but one of the original 12! Farm boy Luke was the first Star Wars figure I ever had, and This new one is worthy of the definitive title to me!
Beautiful figure, just got mine from Gamestop. The head sculpt was ‘ok’ , but I was not sold on. I switched it for the X-Wing pilot one, which is also the one from the Stormtrooper disguise. Finally a Luke that “looks” like Mark Hamill and as the same character in the different outfits he uses in the movie!
This has been on my list for a long time to be made in TVC. I was okay with the last version but this one blows it out the water. The whole new sculpt is way better and I agree that the hair should have been longer and some weathering at the bottom of his boots. Overall it looks like a great figure and thanks again Bossk's Bounty for another good review of my favorite toy line 3.75 inch Star Wars TVC.
Great video BB! I got 6 of these so far and I really like them. One carded for the wall and the other five for various scenes. I got 4 opened and put out and 1 saved for the Cantina later this year!!
Agree about the head and boots. The weathering missing on the boots is a big miss. Mind you, when he arrives and I see him up close, I am sure I will be happy.
He looks really good! I often think it would be cool if they did some Palitoy branded variants of the New Hope figures. In terms of this Luke figure, a variant with a yellow sabre would’ve been good.
Yup, that was me question too: will the Landspeeder come with another Tatooine Luke? I guess we'll see. I think you're right that we have only just begun to see Tatooine Lukes using this sculpt, I won't be that surprised if we get 3 or even 4 different iterations of Luke over the next 2-3 years. They'll find a way 😉 I have seen people's Luke Yavin head swaps and I gotta say that personally, that's probably the way I'm going to go. At the end of the day, I really just need this Luke for standing in my Cantina next to Walrusman and the Doc. The new Landspeeder is a major upgrade from what I can tell, I'll be retiring those other ones, hopefully we're getting those new Sandtroopers we've all been clamoring for too. I've always army built them and if they finally give us a definitive release, I'll be army building him again. Hopefully a single pack with an orange pauldron, and then a Pulse 4 pack with the 4 Pauldrons (and different dirty paint schemes!!) Hopefully, this Nuremberg ToyFair will have more in the way of reveals for us 😀 Oh yeah, a Dewback with Sandtrooper, too 👉🏼
I was initially disappointed in this figure as the face looked terrible in all the promo shots of this figure. But glad to know the actual figure was a good face sculpt compared to the promo shots.
I'm not a fan of deluxe figures but I could see @Hasbro making deluxe version with every accessory luke could possibly have like poncho, floppy hat, binocs, T16 model, stormtrooper belt, and a moisturize vaporator maybe even the long riffle
Ordered mine from The Whole Shebang - not sure when I'll get him, but looking forward to it nevertheless! Craxy to think it took them this long to make the (almost) perfect Luke :)

Got my Luke opener in from gamestop last week. But....waiting for Han, Ben, Chewie to join Leia and clean r2. Have a hero's opening night. Hopefully have them before Christmas to go with the cantina release.
Yeah, I noticed his hair isn't New Hope enough. But it's like you (and I've also seen others) said - it's good for the other 2 OT films, meaning that Hasbro probably intentionally chose that style so they could re-use it for any upcoming OT Luke figures.
Still waiting for it (and Anakin) in Canada and hopefully I’ll be able to see if I don’t get one from a “bad batch” of QC. The figure’s portrait can or could be inconsistent.
As glad that I am this version has gotten along overdue updates, I can't help feel they goofed on the boots. Strictly loose for display purposes because they're too clean. I personally don't want boots that look like there from s photo shoot in a studio but rather a "lived in" look of being worn on the streets of Tatooine. So now what, they release DSE Luke w/stormtrooper belt and slightly dirty boots? lol All i know is that this tiny thing is what prevented me from buying several because I need quite a few just for Tatooine set ups and i don't want them all to have shiny white boots. I only got three so far , one carded and two for a generic Falcon placeholders until I see what they do next with him. Still not 100% sold on the face sculpt/hair, but it's an improvement from the last Farmboy Luke. All in all it's still a very nice figure! And i look forward to a rerelease/redeco that included the gaffi stick, binoculars, T-16 Skyhopper model and cleaning scrapper.

Oh man I been waiting for them to make this figure for so long. It came up on Amazon for pre order and I was going to pre order it when I got home from work, but then it was sold out. So then I checked out all the usual online stores, and it was sold out on all of them. I checked out ebay and they were asking astronomical prices. Finally found it on big bad toy store in the US. Unfortunately, I'm gonna get killed in exchange and duties. I don't think they produced enough of these figures. I think it must be the most requested figure in the line, they should have produced way more. I originally wanted 3 for different displays, but I'm lucky to have found one. The same seems to be happening with the snow trooper. How does hasbro not know their audience by now? They could have gotten away with only making a few acolyte figures and would still have tons left over, but come on man.... the OT is your bread and butter
It's a massive improvement over the figure you showed, and it's a great looking figure. But is it Luke/Mark Hamill from ANH....mayyyyyybe? To me, it's just a good looking generic white dude.

yeah but the thing with this figure is that the hair is a separate piece to the head. So they can reuse the face but with different hair styles.
always wanted tattooine luke. The one I have has this awful head sculpt (with moisture vaporator) and the kenner ones.
