Exactly. I'm going to be watching this to see how closely it lines up with IH. Even if it's well done and funny, the timing is just suspicious enough to look like copied homework that they hoped nobody would notice... or care.
I also wonder if the next thing that shows up on HBO MAX is the story about a bank robbery that just so happens to be in Sweeden, and all the cops in it happen to look like Cole Phelps.

@@alphanerd7221 you act as if this type of thing has *never* happened. There have been whole sitcoms built off the premise of jokes lifted from up-and-coming or perpetually obscure (at the time) standup comedians, or even bits themselves taken wholesale and used in writers rooms for shows and passed off as jokes from said team.
I'm not saying theft happened... I'm saying just because "HBO is big and IH is obscure" doesn't make it impossible. There is _feisably_ enough time between when that video happened and when this trailer dropped to have shot a show. There is also a possibility of lateral thought. Lateral thought on such a specific tale again seems highly suspect, but stranger shit has happened. It just seems like we have a Battle Royale/Hunger Games situation on our hands.
Hell, for all we know, the folks behind Internet Historian could be in on it to begin with. There's precedent for that, too. See: "Brockmire" or "Ted Lasso".
In any case, you don't have to be a snooty dick or run to the defense of HBO.
