We don’t do Works to be saved or to stay saved. Having Salvation has nothing to do with our lifestyle. Works is separate from salvation its what we do to help God bring people to the knowledge of God.

exactly. when we are saved and we are given the holy spirit doing good works will come naturally for us, but it is not to buy salvation or earn our way into heaven because jesus already took care of that for us, we do it out of our love for god.
i was once addicted to drugs and alcohol, depressed and having anxiety disorders and i was a satanist. then i met the real christ and everything changed for me. once i knew who he actually was and not who i used to think he was i accepted him as my lord and savior and he then cured me of my addictions and mental health issues. now i love god and my life is completely different and im actually happy and at peace. god changes you for the better and doing works doesnt feel lika a choir at all, i want to do them.
and when we are doing works and people see our joy in christ we become the lamp he puts where everyone can see it, and its for the glory of god.

@@DimitriDorvalwhat a load of garbage, have you even read the NT. This kind of easy-believism heresy is why mathew 24 was written. The ignorant belief that real transformation takes place internally with zero affect on anything externally is just biblical ignorance. Have you even read Paul's 13 letters they are literally about a believers lifestyle after regeneration. Paul's transformation was immediate, decisive, applicable, and full of obedience and repentance and righteousness. Every verb Paul uses to describe the believer is active not idle. This is what not reading scripture looks like plain and simple!!

here the bible clearly states that you are saved by grace through faith and its a gift from god, not a reward for your efforts. and then tells you to keep the commandments out of love for god, and if you read those commandments they instruct behavior that will bring out a better world for everyone so its also not just to please god but to make life better for everyone. and this is my understanding of it.

@ it’s actually quite the opposite. That’s why context is important. You’re referring to Mathew 7:21-23.That’s actually for people who rely on works to be saved, and dont have genuine faith.
      Mathew 7:21-23 KJV.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that works iniquity.
If people rely on their works to be saved why does Jesus turn down people who have wonderful works? Because they don’t have genuine faith and rely on works. Even Jesus calls them workers of iniquity.
He says only people who do the fathers will, will be saved. Do you know the fathers will?
      John 6:40 KJV
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

be careful not to get condemnation and Holy Spirit conviction mixed up, faith without works being dead absolutely means we have to do things for the Lord and His people. @ thanks, I get it for sure. I have no problem doing the work God has for me and am more than willing, what I’ve dealt with lately is after backsliding looking to my works to validate my salvation and it’s lead to complete and utter burnout and extreme frustration when I feel like I’m going through all the motions when my heart isn’t in it because I’m not taking care of myself and my motives are wrong. I agree that those things are important and I need to listen to conviction, but it got out of hand and I needed to realize it’s still simply the blood of Christ that saved me and keeps me saved. Not my good deeds. The deeds should always flow from relationship and a grateful heart, not of fear and obligation.

    • @CAsnowman
      @CAsnowman หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@dubs33 I think you’re also misunderstanding what he is saying, he’s not saying “oh works don’t matter” but he is saying they have ZERO part in earning or maintaining salvation. Which is true. It’s a work of God in our lives and His continual work throughout our lives that saves us, not our own efforts. And if we aren’t willing to do good works at all then I’d say something is probably wrong, but you also have to remember there is seasons where we don’t bear fruit, seasons of preparation, testing, discipline, etc. and this idea that you have to keep looking at your works to validate your salvation is harmful to the church in my experience. Look at psalms 1:3-6 and how it mentions bearing fruit IN ITS SEASON. James is a tricky book, but I think you have to be very careful otherwise you start bordering on legalism and pietism.

But this will be a natural outflow of your intimate relationship with Him and not a contrived work done under your own intellect and strength.

John 6:40 says, "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day”
Is that simple that’s why is called the good news, is too good to be true. That’s how easy it is to get into heaven just read about the thief on the cross. He lived a life of sin especially bad ones to get himself crucified, he didn’t repent of sins, he didn’t have a “relationship”, he probably never even prayed in his life.
Unfortunately Satan is in these churches and are making people think if they don’t repent for their sins and ancestors sins and get delivered from demons every month while also praying in tongues then you aren’t saved. You also need to have a “radical” awakening and have a ton of signs and miracles to stay saved despite it being a gift.

“And you don’t give them those things which are NEEDFUL to the body,” clearly refers to addressing the physical needs to the body of someone in need. It’s why many people call Christian’s hypocritical, because they talk the talk but do not as they say. Jesus said to give to whomsoever asks, not to question them or preach the Gospel. Let your love and compassion do the preaching sometimes.
However-because the Word of God is a FOUNTAIN of Wisdom, we will always receive more and more revelation of it. It doesn’t mean that the message God initially gave was incorrect or that the latter is incorrect. It just speaks to the profoundness and depths of Scripture and its author and how both give continually.

The Holy Spirit produces the work in us. It's that burning desire to do the will of the Father by yielding to the Holy Spirit and allowing God to use us to do His will. I believe most of us shrink back because we haven't surrendered to the will of God.

It’s sad how the enemy has most believers thinking they’re own “works” play a role in their salvation. Satan has them deceived thinking THEY can do something to keep or maintain it or that they work to attain it. They always have it misconstrued thinking that if someone believes it’s by faith alone, we can do whatever we want, or “free gracers” as they say. Thank you God for doing the ultimate WORK we could never do and giving us this free gift.

      @
Gnostics believed in that humans contain a divine spark or fragment of a higher reality within them. True salvation comes not through faith or good deeds but through personal, esoteric knowledge (gnosis) of this divine origin, which can free one's soul from the material world. Which is clearly not the gospel of Jesus Christ or relates to anything I mentioned.
Gnostic teachings often diverged from mainstream Christian, Jewish, or Greco-Roman religious ideas. They tended to reinterpret established religious figures and narratives, and many early Gnostic sects saw figures like Jesus as spiritual guides who revealed hidden truths rather than as saviors in the conventional sense. Which is straight up heresy. That’s not even close to what I believe nor commented so nice try. They reject Jesus and putting faith on him.

That's because there are believers who truly believe their actions don't matter because they "believe". Christians aren't assuming people are "freegracers" this is what they are saying themselves, there are many people who will argue they can technically sin all they want because God only requires their faith.
Maybe it should be explained what it means to put your faith in Jesus. Because people think it means to simply believe he's real.

[14]What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

    This makes perfect sense!
“and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬, ‭26‬ ‭KJV‬‬
How do we get the spirit, through Jesus and his righteousness by faith!
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭31‬-‭33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

no this is out of context and heresy! Mathew 25: 41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

@carlorivera3035 thankyou brother in Christ. I was really meditating on James chapter 2 last night, it kept me up all night and I was taken to the same James just a few pages later on Chapter 4:17 "Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. " Apostle Paul puts it very beautifully in Phillipinans 1:15-18 "15.Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from good will: 16.The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17.But the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; an in this I rejoice, yes, and we will rejoice."

@wasdspace8159 Thank God, my brother. Let us celebrate in that many of us are glorifying the Lord. At the same time, we need to nudge our brothers gently out of love so we can reach "unity of faith and knowledge." (Ephesians 4:13) This is important as a vast number of preachers are conveying the idea that faith without works saves, which is true by the way according to Ephesians 2:8,9. However, the problem appears when they neglect to preach (and sometimes they even reject) verses showing the relevance and importance of good works, of endurance, of KEEPING the faith, and of love and its superiority over faith (1 Corinthians 13:2,13) as far as being saved and REMAINING saved is concerned.
Here are some of the relevant verses my friend. Please find the time to meditate on them, too, brother. I pray everyone could say amen to them -- not just Ephesians 2. After all these are words from our Savior. God bless
      John 5:29
[29]And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
      Matthew 10:22
[22]And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
      2 Timothy 2:12
[12]If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
      John 15:6
[6]If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
      John 3:3,5
[3]Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[5]Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
      Matthew 18:3
[3]And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
      Matthew 7:21
[21]Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
      John 8:51
[51]Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
      Romans 10:9
[9]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
      Galatians 6:8
[8]For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
      James 1:21
[21]Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
      James 2:5
[5]Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
      James 1:12
[12]Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

@dubs33 you do know Jesus came and preached differently than the pharisees, and they condemned him for heresy. While he was preaching the good news and giving humanity hope, Pharisees and Scribes condemned him to death quoting scriptures while they feel like the most righteous people in the world, they had a greater curse because inside they had no goodness, or love in them.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for giving this message through the Holy Spirit in Johnny Chang.
Studying scripture with scripture. 🙌🏼 YES AND AMEN! This is how Bible study is done! The Holy Spirit has been guiding me this way as I’ve continued to read, and it’s amazing to see this being shown in the light.
I’ll even add to that, a brother, sister & mother defined by The Lord is this:
“Who is my mother? And who are my brethren?’ And he stretched out his hand toward his disciples, and said, ‘Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”-Matthew 12:48-50
I encourage all brothers and sisters to study this way. Beautiful! It makes studying so fun because you’re searching and looking for the hidden treasures in His word to be given the whole meat of the passage. Absolutely love it!
Thank you for all that you do in The Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord bless you and keep you, brother. Today and for evermore! In Jesus mighty name. Hallelujah, Amen! 🙏🏼🤍

he did not simplify it at all, actually did the complete opposite taking everything out of context and taught heresy, this is dangerous, we need to actually provide for our brothers and sisters in Christ with food and clothes not just saying ‘Jesus loves you’ 🤦‍♂️

Mathew 25:41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they also will answer [d]Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

In James it's actually and literally talking about a brother or sister being naked( or poorly clothed) as to where the nakedness in Isaiah is used metaphorically for sin being uncovered. Because if your naked that means your already uncovered right so when it's used in this way you nakedness ( sin) will be uncovered you can see how it's used metaphorically and not literally as in James. Although you can interpret James as Johnny is doing so, the actual meaning of naked in James is literal not metaphoric like in Isaiah.

Apostle Paul was talking about Grace and James mistook Paul's subject for faith - "for BY GRACE YOU ARE SAVED through faith, and not of works." Faith is not the subject - Grace is. Grace is free. Unmerited, no amount of works will bring about this grace but God's love for His creation.
Faith is never free - it demands bearing of fruit. The Lord said we must bear fruit. The Lord said we must make our light so shine before men so they will see our good works and glorify our Father.
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself puts grace and faith this way:
"As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness so The Son of Man must be lifted up (grace), so whoever believes in Him (faith) should not perish but have everlasting life."
The Lord never exempted works from belief in Him. He always said "he who hears My words and DOES THEM is like one building his house on a rock "
Neither did Apostle Paul because he plainly said "For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.
Psalm 49:6 puts grace this way:
No one can redeem the life of his brother or give to God a ransom (Grace) for him, for the ransom for a life is costly, it ceases forever, that a man should live forever and not die.

My understanding has always been the faith that you gain and utilize must be tried and tested to show its works not for recognition but to be done to prove to self that thru you the will of God be done as it has been done for you when naked or in youth

When he says brother and sister he is not talking to the people of the world. He is talking to people who are saved.

My brother, if you come across this comment, please respond because I have some questions. Let me start with this one. In the book of revelations, Jesus constantly rebukes the church because their works are not perfect in the sight of God. Some churches tolerated Jezebel, others lost her first love meaning Jesus, others were pretending to be alive, but we’re almost dead had a reputation for being alive, I believe in the message of Grace, but to say that Jesus doesn’t expect things out of us to bear good fruit etc is misleading
