I hear so much about the far right, my question is "where are they"? Nobody has come up to me and said "do you want to join the far right"? I'm pointing out the two sides of a valid legal challenge to their proposed evil laws, one based on the definition of 'phobia', the other based on moral duty and free speech. You cannot attach the word 'phobia' to the word 'Islam', it is nonsensical.There has to be a better phrase to describe our dismay and concern with the 'peaceful ' religion. I might suggest 'Islamocritical' or ' Islamofearful'. I agree that there is good reason to have a 'phobia' about this particular medieval cult, afterall most of the terrorist atrocities in recent years have been perpetrated by adherents of this cult.
Does this, then, mean we're not allowed to be fearful of Islam in Britain? Or be suspicious of, or critical of, or worried or defensive, or merely uncomfortable with?
As far as I am aware, no other religion practised in the UK garners such concern or, indeed, merits such specific protection.
And does this mean, for instance, that Germany is now an islamaphobic state for challenging it as robustly as they are?
Or Poland or Hungary for excluding it from their countries altogether?

How frightening it must be as a young woman about town these days. Islam hates women and just about everything else when it comes to them being free and happy. What a wonderful life I had growing up in the 60's and 70's. CRY FREEDOM and HOPE for the future.

Islam gave women the right to keep their name and not change to the husband's after marriage ... women in the western had to change their surname to the husband's. In Islam the Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings upon him, first wife proposed to him. How is that for women's emancipation? Most adult women in the west choose to wear modest clothing and cover up. They are not forced to. Maybe younger girls are requested to do so by their parents as they believe this is as God commanded and this is part of teaching their children about a good practicing Muslim way of life. This does not teach them they are inferior to men, that they need to be dictated to by men or they have no choices. God knows his creation best and knows the nature of men and women. Islam also puts a lot of importance on the family unit and so has rules on how to live and what to do and not do to preserve this and does not allow relationships between men and women outside marriage. Thus women to cover up so not to attract men they are not married to and for men to 'lower their gazes' so not to look at women who are not their wives. Just see the sexual harrassment that takes place in workplaces. What was the 'me too' movement all about? And if men that are Muslims harass women or worse thrn they are not following their religion as this is not allowed and is not part of Islam. It does not make the religion bad. It means these individuals are doing bad things.
The sixties and seventies were absolutely wonderful here in Britain compared to today. You could choose not to be religious without fear, and for that, Christians deserve our lasting respect.
